FPV Part 16: SkyWalker Finishing Touches, CG balancing, Battery strap and Propeller spinner

- The FPV SkyWalker is about ready for a test flight. Using the CG machine to balance plane for flight is a must. Where is the center of gravity supposed to be? Placing the battery for stable flight makes all the difference.

Its coming together really well, very neat build. I swapped out the junk control links and fixings that can slip out for some M2 threaded bar and metal clevis instead for peace of mind
Good idea, I know barndog726 changed his control links too.
I am just sticking with the stock ones but I did thread locker on the locking screws for good measure.
How good is the glue? All purpose? Where do you normally use that glue for? Bonding foam and plastic together? Thanks
I just measured: CG on mine = 4 1/4- 4 1/2 back from the center line
My battery is about 2 1/8 from the front door edge. My nose is way heavier than yours because I use one of the old GoPro's You can fine tune the CG with the battery.
Remember, nose heavy flies hard, tail heavy flies once!
I made a couple of lines on the under side of the wing. When I get all set up I put a finger on each mark. If it leans a little towards nose heavy, I go for it....
Your plane is lookin great, I would have had the nose skid but I couldn't get it back when?? Did you balance the prop? We need to get you a prop reamer..
Yes I need to get a prop balancer and a prop reamer. Any recommendations?
I have my video battery on the nose pod so that might make it as nose heavy as yours.

+AGIS LTD Place the CG 4 inches back from the front center edge of the wing. Worked for me.

I am getting a piper cub for Christmas I will make a video then I have been flying my champ recently

you mean the ply pod for the cam /fpv gear etc? If so yes that to. Maybe 2, one for my scale cockpit and 1 for normal flying hehe
