Hey guys just seen the latest video , nice going I’m a aluminium boatbuilder from Perth Western Australia I never miss any of the live action if you guys need any advice let me know , little tip turn the wire speed up in the machine and try and go a little faster , you will put less heat into the materials and the finish product won’t have as many ripples in the plate and watch for the hull being twisted , before you fully weld the hull up level the hull up by lining the top of the transom up with the top of the foredeck (or dash) I use jack stands on there sides to stick underneath the bottom plates as chocks once iits level tack some braces in all four corners or otherwise when you get in and out of the hull and go from back to front and side to side to weld it it will end up with a twist in the hull , and if it was me ide pit the sides on from front to back and sash clamp the back plates down when you tack it up , before you weld it up tack the top plates and windscreen in and brace it all level before you weld the whole lot up, mess if you have any problems, and James don’t tig the hull up (too much heat)it will move around too much , good luck boys 👍👍👍👍johnny from western australia

As much as we LOVE the relationship that is obvious between the PFI guys and Boosted BOIS, can you start giving them independent shoutout credit?
Youve had Brent constantly work for and with you and you still call him a Boosted BOI, yet he's trying HARD to build his own channel. Brent and Jamie are such amazing guys they would never correct you on camera and have been letting it ride for quite a while now.
As a fan and (And fellow youtuber) I really emplore you to give Brent/Jamie their own shoutout as PFI speed guys. Its things like this that will help grow all the channels together (As Im sure you found out from your early Leroy build with Kyle at 1320).

To check for leaks, soapy water sprayed on and blow with air compressor over seem welds.
Ideally exterior seem weld should be done in one take. Catch on fire if need be. Stops and starts are where holes and cracks can form.
And don't powder coat them. The heat could buckle or warp it.
Best finish for an Ali boat is acid washed and Ali sealed. Then just get the hull above chines vinyl wrapped. No offence to yankie boat builders but America got alot to learn about Ali boat building.
Majority of boats in Australia and NZ are Ali.
As the resident Alaskan, I feel obliged to say there are no elk in Alaska and polar bears are 1000 miles north of Kodiak in the arctic. But the spirit's there👍

We took a 24' pontoon boat and made it into a sink box style duck hunting blind. It took two of us all summer to do it. All we had was a Lincoln mig 180 and started with a cheap spool gun (That didn't last very long) But she's a duck killing machine. LoL

@@drumboarder1 You left out the "Kit" part.. its a 10 foot wooden 1 seat skimmer kit and plans that he bought in the 70's for $125.00 bucks and we never built because we could not find 12 foot 1/4 inch marine plywood that it calls for to wrap the wooden frame that was the kit which I still have in the box in my basement. So now I'll build it with my son!

You've never smelled a funk like a size 21 (yes, US) steel toe boot that's been soaked in sweat 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. I broke down and ordered a couple extra pairs but for that size, it took a bit. No better feeling when you're trying to drag your ass to work at 5am and slipping into some soggy boots! Upside is I have so many calluses from all the blisters I dont even need boots anymore!
Would've refused that fucker the second the door opened. That's on the carrier. Next time you get something large shipped look into a small owned operation. Usually have great luck with them, big carriers not so much.

Maybe he is just thinking about the fact he cant really make a ton of money on the tracker...he loses money to make the content and in the end when he finally crosses the pond what will he do with the thing? Sure but likely it wont be as enjoyable the second time, for him OR for us, and plus he would be lucky if something didn't break again...ultimately creating a perpetuating cycle of paying money to fix the tracker to make tracker content, but he is bottle necked as to what profit he can really make from the tracker...
At least people sponsor his race cars, and at least his cars are somewhat reliable, and at least he isnt limited to making money from just the content since there are cash prizes for racing...

Now this I can get down with, we have mini jet stingers from AUS and they're almost the same. You're going to love it and want to head to the water every day. We've had ae 4 years now with Kawasaki 1200 2 strokes 3 cylinder engines and at least go out 6 to 8 times a month, never gets old and yes you can bring in an elk or hunt waterfowl with them, so much fun! Don't forget to put a doggy seat belt for your pup Holley, my Labs love going for rides.
I always enjoyed having my freight claims against carriers all in order. They have to pay for damages caused. Having it always in order, they stopped even bothering to send out someone to inspect them. Just paid them out. Many years ago now but still holds true.

dont fill them with water to check for leaks,,, structurely they aren't engineered for they amount of weight inside them,, more likely to make leaks or split a weld out doing that,,

I actually get to say this for once... The operation that makes these, is just down the street from me.
Dude R&L carriers sucks. They smashed my nova quarter panel then scammed me into signing for it by saying that i had to sign to get a replacement from Jegs. Jegs almost didnt send me another one because i signed for it but they ended up replacing it. Thank heavens Jegs has some integrity because surely R&L does not
I use to work on the docks there. I can confrim they suck and that the dock workers don't give a FUCK about your freight. If you don't get preferred frate, then it's not worth it.
My freight from them was ABSOLUTELY destroyed when it showed up. Fortunately it was just a roll cage and miraculously they piled all the parts up on the pallet and didn’t lose anything.
They did the same to me as well with a pallet of solar panels. They had set a pallet on top and crushed the top one but I wasn't about to cut the straps on their docks and unwrap the whole thing so I had no choice but to sign and find out it was crushed when I got it home. My loss.
Had a transmission shipped with them and well lets say I had to get another one shipped because they broke the housing.
I cannot believe they had the balls to show up with a pallet looking like that. I am buying some large pieces for a project and will make dang sure it isn't R&L Freight that ships them. They are learning the power of the Cleetus Nation here. 250k views and counting.

There is a reason welders never wear shorts... sunburns, spatter down the socks and shoes and leg burns. Especially the mig and aluminum, pretty dirty compared to steel but not as bad as stainless.

I used to weld repair aluminum fuel tankers from the inside and learned quickly that any skin that's not covered up will be sunburnt very quickly. Between how bright the arc is and how reflective aluminum is with UV, it doesn't take long. I've had skin peeling above my ankle from my jeans not being long enough, back of my neck, area between my jacket and gloves, ect.
@@thewelderdude They definitely suffered some for not covering up. Boosted Boiz Kyle already put out a video that they got flash burns from not being covered up. I try not to even tack stuff without gloves anymore. The hair on my hands smells burnt after one stick.

Only problem with any foam in an aluminum craft is repairs down the road. Cracks and seam blow outs get welded up. Not good to have foam of any kind in there to either smolder or melt. I used to ask the same thing repairing pontoon boats.
You don't want crappy spray foam. You want a USCG approved 2 part polyurethane foam for a boat.

As long as it doesn't require any of them to ACTUALLY shift they should be okay
