I am currently a phd student living in the UK for 4 years, what surprised me most is ppl's impression about china still remains 80s.... pretty shame that some of ppl who travelled to china don't have the courage to speak out the truth of china, just to make themselves accepted easily by their previous groups, ppl here are more like, believe what they want to believe rather than the truth. ofc i didnt mean china is the perfect, we have loads of problems but we deserve a more fair report from media here. we are on the edge bcs of ur media.
nothing to worry about this foreign media and cultural bias. because the only ones who suffer from this bias and stereotypes are those who created these. they are narrow minded and don't wanna accept the truth and reality.it is they who will be punished, not us.

To be honest it surprises me for hearing these comments from a foreigner. It reminds myself of the responsibility to present the value and image as Chinese to the world. By living overseas it has to be admitted that people including myself turning easy to be accepted to be the ones that others think about us. Unfortunately, there are still many expats living here who don't understand China and make generalizing of the stereotypes, even some of them can speak Chinese well though. For them, Chinese and understanding Chinese is basically on the basis of how much vocabulary, grammar they know and how precisely they speak Chinese, whereas they are not able to stand on China's shoes while thinking of the cross-cultural phenomenon. Anyways, thanks for sharing the impressive and thoughtful video.
The veteran youtube made me shed tears. These old people suffered and sacrifice so much for the country so that the younger generation can enjoy the fruits of their labour. Yet for some, there are no complaints. You just move on in your own ways.

我至今记得我高中时的外教Emily（来自英国）她不喜欢中国，不认可中国的发展模式，她当foreign teacher只是来“体验生活”的，在课堂上也直接说，I won't give credits for this and that of China... 但她是很负责的那种，“拿钱办事”的态度。她每堂课设计的都特别认真，而且会很认真考虑中国学生的特点（比如发不出 th 音还有喜欢偷偷做数学作业😂）如果有问题去问她，她也会直截了当给看法，比如“美国这方面做的很好，他们会XXXXX”“中国应该加强XXXX否则会XXXX” 我觉得，比起现在国内特别多尬吹🇨🇳的外国朋友来说，Emily她其实更是我期待的来华友人。我完全可以接受你说，“China is so dirty” "China needs more XXXX" "Chinese people lack XXXX". It's all ok. These are all fine and acceptable. “有则改之，无则加勉”，我们现在很多时候真的太玻！璃！心！了。

这一期的感想很有意义，部分年轻人确实在过于信息化的现代社会而相对自私和自我，有的时候在异国他乡生活无法融入的一部分原因也确实是我们没有真正把自己代入成一份子去生活，我们自然的把自己边缘化了，所以即使在当地生活习惯了可能心理上还是会格格不入，生活中大多数问题都是没有良好沟通下的产物，放平心态好好沟通能解决很多问题。

这种来中国社会体验过的外国人当然有资格提建议甚至是批评。
但是在西方也真的是有一批坐在沙发上看反华电视来了解中国的无知群众（我在北美遇到太多这种人了，而且很不幸的是反华对于他们是政治正确）。遇到这种人一定要积极反馈中国的真实情况给他们，不然你的沉默只会让他们觉得他们的刻板印象和偏见是正确的。
老高当然是比较偏向于正面评价中国的。但是他的立足点是世界和人类。
正面评价和负面评价固然都有其价值，正面或负面并不成为判断一个评价之价值的标准。而是其代表的利益在哪里。如果代表的利益是自己，那叫无耻，代表的利益是中国之外的某些势力，那叫吃里爬外，代表的利益是中国那叫卖屁股。代表的利益是世界的历史和人类的进步，谈论一些亘古不变的道理，那叫真正的价值。
美国这方面做的很好，他们会XXXXX”“中国应该加强XXXX否则会XXXX” 这不是白皮的傲慢？就像中国近些年发展的还不错 但我们不会认为 别人就应该学中国模式 也从来不喜欢将自己的模式强加给别的国家
