The same old tired poverty bashing, and as for Jeremy using quote marks for "sick" and talking about "a bit of depression in there" is utterly disgusting. I suffer from depression and anxiety bu I have always struggled into work unless it is utterly debilitating. There have aklso been times when work has actually been the cause of my illness, but this sort of belittling is deeply concerning.

Too much stick and not enough carrot. If jobs pay so little that they have miserable lives, where is the insentive.Poverty is actually traumatic for whole famililes. Cheap poor food causes obesity. Fresh meat and vegatables are expensive.

If i don't get help from the NHS then how the hell am i supposed to get better and if it is a easy as that ,i would be better now .This is thsnks to all the Tories cuts . I will never forgive them . Oh and the medication they put you on causes all sorts of problems

Very true. The welfare system incentivises people to seek ever more diagnoses of tenuous conditions to maximise benefits and see this as a life choice of never working. We all know this. It happens all around us even in our own families and friends. It is the truth that dare not speak its name. I personally know someone who has successfully conned the NHS and DWP that they have agrophobia and panic attacks leaving their house and even speaking to people on the phone. They receive UC, higher rate PIP (daily living and mobility - even though they say they cant go out?) full rent and council tax benefit. They could never earn a wage that would generate this income. This allows them to spend their days on art projects, writing poetry and short stories and planning the next music festival to attend! Just one of thousands of examples out there gaming the system.

I worked from the age of 16 and worked until I was 55. I went on ESA as I had a back problem and I finished on disability. I cannot walk more than 2 metres. Not everyone is bleeding the system. I had
My works pension the day I was supposed to go for a medical with Atos. Body shaming is mom the same lines as being a racket and not many people like this. As it can trigger a point in people with mental health issues

I think some airtime should be allocated to the subject of bullying in the workplace in this country. It is rife in all industries and can be very detrimental to the wrong persons. The biggest problem with it is the bullied victims have no recourse to fall back on. If they do something , they're sacked not the bully, because the bully has already got in with the superiors. I know from experience.

Around £1,300 pcm when on UC and full PIP award and then additional rent/council tax benefit as well. Where I live rents are still vaguely affordable so say £500 pcm and £80 council tax pcm for 1 bed flat. Total benefits package then £1,880 pcm for a single person, more if children. To earn a net take home pay of £1,880 pcm your salary would need to be around £25/26k pa. This means If you have little education and skills so would only get a minimum wage job with no promotion or training opps you are better off on benefits gaming the system getting a diagnoses for some tenuous condition ( ME, fibromyalgia, anxiety ie some of the few often cited as not easy for the medical profession to disprove). We all know someone who does this. We need to be honest about it and get it sorted. Benefits should not be a life choice of never putting a shift in and contributing.

Honestly it still amazes me that food is completely blamed, yes it's a big factor, but most people who can't move or excise who are unwell, or mentally unwell and put on medication that too put on weight. For example the pill say in there guide that it puts on a stone a year. So for those who can't balance it or exercise that is what happens, I think for some it is easy to balance and for other it's not. Those that are sick or can't work it is mostly because they struggle no because they aim to scam the system.

The health response to long covid in this country is abysmal. In Norway, they had rehabilitation programmes in place by summer 2020. I follow someone on TH-cam who caught COVID in March 2020 and was given a 3 week programme in a rehabilitation centre where they gave people individual assessments and treatment. He is now fully recovered from short term memory loss, weakness, fatigue…all those viral symptoms of autoimmune disorders. I hope you get the help you need. ❤The channel is Arne and Carlos if you want to look it up.

Oh and i am getting worse ,and I am very breathless when i move even just a little bit and i don't smoke so don't blame that , it is putting so much pressure on my heart ♥ but they still don't take me seriously ,they will wait until i have a heart attack ,it is ridiculous . I don't have asthma either ,I have tried that .doesn't work .I have always got a cough and cached bad chest infections . I have also put on weight but not because I eat too much ,nice try but i don't i barely eat and feel sick a lot and i started to put on weight when my Doctor put me on antidepressants ,Fluxatine ,avoid these at all costs . They cause weight gain , bad acne ,no motivation , suicidal thoughts but i don't have that thank goodness , blurry vision ,tiredness , forgetfulness . Lack of concentration ,dizziness , dry skin , dry mouth dry eyes , loss of appetite .loss of interests you once liked . These tablets are supposed to stop depression but it is clear to me they make you worse .
