Thank you, friend. xo
Most of it! My husband is my partner and he does the shooting. I usually do the first edit then he does all the "finishing touches" like color correction and adding text cards.
How fun! Hilah always makes me smile and giggle. We'll definitely give a seafood boil a try this summer, thanks for this awesome video!
I think it is kinda healthy! And yes, anmoose is correct! Add them with the shrimp so they heat through. Hope you try it!
Yes, it's so simple and delicious. And those were some big ol' gulf shrimp we got!
Thank you so much, Lyndsay. I want to give you a big hug!
Summers at the coast are what Texas kids are made for! xo
Me, too. Thanks for your condolences. :)
That's ME!!!! :D
omg the end. lol
We go to Port Aransas twice a year, April and October. I was considering skipping this October, but after seeing your video, I can't wait to go back again and leave San Marcos behind for one worry free week! The shrimp boil looks delicious. Can't wait to see where you'll take us next week! Thanks for all your hard work Hilah!
Tastemade made a great choice in having Hilah do this series for them. She really had fun and we have fun watching it. I'm sad it's come to an end... maybe they'll give her more money to do a different series. I will always be watching Hilah Cooking... but I have poked around on Tastemade too.
Great video Hilah! I live in Ingleside and frequent the Island often. My only curiosity would be how the heck you kept the gulls from bombarding you while you're eating at the beach! We had a boil a couple weeks ago at work for about 4000 people, and the recipe you have is spot on!
Did you know that the Bible says that eating shrimp is an abomination. What!? I'm not trying to ruin anybody's lunch. I'm just saying. Any-who, as usual Hilah looks amazing. She's so much fun! Yay! I hope she becomes super famous and rich!
Tune in next week to see if Hilah runs out of gas, makes it back to civilization, and survives the Sexy Texas coast ! Loved it Hilah, you're hotter than ever! Will you take me to see the Gulf.. I've never been!
Hilah! dude, this looks so easy. ONE POT COOKIN'! ...and i think this might be healthy! i might just have to do this. Now, if i was to want to add crab clusters to this, (precooked) when would i add those to the pot?
Great recipe!! How about with the leftover broth where you did the boil, make a seafood soup with shrimps and clams or with seafood medley, adding celery, tomatoes, carrots, onions and cilantro?
Moby Dick's is soooo yum! I recommend it if you're every in Port A. Also, Virginia's is delish too, it's so nice when they open all the windows and it's just nice a breezy..mhmm! that's the life.
I cannot believe I have not seen your videos before, they are so simple, with ingredients you can easily find in the pantry, rather then having to go to specialty stores.
As someone from Texas who's recently been dealing with 106+ weather, I'm about 95% certain she shot this in the winter, as Port A's "off-season" is certainly not July.
So... right there at the end, is it just me or is she missing her accent? Anyways, shrimp boil looks pretty good and simple to make.
Gonna give it a try this weekend.
Hi hilah I would ove to try this recipe, but I'm from Denmark and we don't have the cajun spice mix... any ideas for a substitue seasoning?
Remembered this one today as my folks were visiting and they wanted some local seafood. So this was awesome since the corn and everything else for this just happened to be in season out here. Added 2 lbs of mussels and it came out perfect.
This video just brought back memories of me and my Dad when I was a kid. I grew up playing in the gulf, eating gulf shrimp, and kissing boys on the gulf:) We would go to South Padre Island and eat at Snoopy's:) Peel and eat shrimp all the way...
Buy a steamer next time. The juices and flavor drips off in the boiling water, the steam keeps the flavor and juices in the mix.
"Really cold"...it was 119* in Las Vegas today. Notice Hilah is smart enough not to do a Vegas Cooking channel. Well done girl!
If you guys ever come to Rockport to visit, go check out Boiling Pot!!
Amazing video btw!! You made it look so easy! XD
I'm loving Hilah's Texas Kitchen so much! Entertaining, Inspiring and down to earth- dude, I always feel like make a trip to the store after watching!!!
Hey Hilah,
We don't have shrimp boil seasoning where I live...so can you recommend a substitute?
Um Beaumont is NOT deep East Texas! That would be more like Lufkin or Nacogdoches... or Jasper.
Love your videos, Hilah. Love Texas cooking but so sorry, you're stuck with Gov Rick Perry.
You could taste it, and if it had the right flavour, you could use it as a base for gumbo.
east texas does not necessarily mean northeast texas. beaumont is definitely deep east texas!
Looks so great! Yummy~
Only one question, beer+ seafood or vc+ seafood, isn't it poison?
Yay for Texas!!! Born and raised Texan!

"And I'm almost outa gas." Ooooops...
Great road trip, Hilah, and it looks like it's worth a special trip there, just for the experience. The shrimp boil is perfection, pretty much like we do them on this end of the Gulf. It just doesn't get any better. I think Texas shrimp are bigger than ours... LOL
