  • This video is part one of a two-part series that dives deeper into the world of hydraulic cylinders. In this, the first part, we'll be providing an overview of the main parts of a hydraulic cylinder and talk about some of the common variations you should be familiar with to find the right cylinder for your project.
In the second video, we will dive into how to accurately measure your cylinder. You can watch that video here:

Among the topics discussed in this video: the tools you'll need to open up your cylinder, a full breakdown of the parts inside, and what to think about when considering whether to replace a cylinder vs. repairing it.

very good. that brings a lot of light into the darkness. but my single-acting cylinder still has a connection on the lower side for a fine, non-pressurized hose that goes back to the pump. could it be that this is a kind of emergency drain in case the piston seal leaks a little?
