At long last! I've been eagerly anticipating what the new song would be, and once again, you guys slayed it. There was never a doubt, of course! Yes please, Razor Boy would be soooo good, or Show Biz Kids, or Chain Lightening, or.... Keep amazing us!
all I can say is.. WOW WOW WOW. You guys are so dedicated to getting the perfect sound, its unbelievable. I've watched a lot of SD cover bands and I honestly think you guys are the best. You deserve soooo many more subs. I hope you never stop till you cover all of their songs! would you consider doing Razor boy or Turn that heartbeat over again? Thanks for posting these incredible vids!
Hope you've found their Feb. 2020 concert on YT where they performed the entire "Can't Buy a Thrill" album in sequence. Incredibly fine version of "Turn That Heartbeat Over Again."

When my wife and I first saw Steely Dan live in April 1974 there were no horns or female backing vocalists, but there were still eight guys onstage: Walter Becker, Donald Fagen, Jeff Baxter, Denny Dias, Michael McDonald, Royce Jones and drummers Jim Hodder and Jeff Porcaro. The Brooklyn Charmers are amazingly faithful to the sound of that '74 lineup with three fewer musicians.
@@andyinoregon Andy you saw them in 74?? DAMN I'm jealous. I saw a lot of concerts back then but not early SD. I did see them about 8 years ago, before WB passed, was great but still...seeing them in the early days...awesome.
@@stevemd6488 After watching them perform "Do It Again" and "Reelin' In the Years" on NBC's "The Midnight Special" in 1973, we vowed to see them live and got that opportunity on April 21, 1974 when their "Pretzel Logic" tour headlined at the U. Of Toledo (two nights earlier they had to open for The Beach Boys in Columbus). It was also our introduction to future blue-eyed soul legend Michael McDonald, who we later followed with guitarist Jeff Baxter over to The Doobie Brothers when Becker & Fagen refused to tour in 1975.

Not just because it was amazingly executed (as are all of your covers I’ve seen so far) but because the sign of a good cover is when it takes a song you already love and makes you love it on even a deeper level seeing it through the eyes of someone else who loves it just as much. Brava!! I can’t wait to come see you guys live after this corona bulls**t is over!
You guys are just through the roof awesome! Is that autotune I hear on the vocal? Or is it just that Fagan very liberally tuned on this one? Those vocal harmonies, must be SO MUCH fun to sing!

You really can't fault these guys because they're all great musicians and this sounded damn good BUT a huge part of what makes the original of this song so great is Fagens phrasing and vocal inflections which were missing here. You remove those and there's nothing that special about it.
When Black Friday comes i'll be listening to "Brooklyn Charmers' :-)

@@andyinoregon every other SD cover band I've seen has like 28 people in the band, and these guys do it almost perfect with FIVE. Stunning.
