The Brooklyn Charmers have easily become the best cover band I've ever seen
I used to think that, but there's a lot of other stuff out there on TH-cam . not just Steely Dan but all types of bands
As a former professional classical musician, my greatest joy came from being able to manifest those monumental works of the greatest musical geniuses humanity has ever produced. I can only imagine what it must feel like to be able to reproduce note-for-note these SD masterpieces. You all have my deepest respect.
I love Steely Dan very, very much but to call them them the greatest musical geniuses is a bit of a stretch.
@@1957PLATO why's it a stretch? the mode and medium of musical genius shifts through time and they did it about as well as anyone could in their own unique way, musically and lyrically. and it resonates with a lot of people. that's brilliant, plain and simple.
Thank you! Steely Dan is the sound track to my life. I was 8 yrs old in 72 when I heard my first Steely Dan song and I was hooked. Thank you for keeping this music alive.
"Can't Buy A Thrill " was the first album I ever bought myself. It, and everything they've done since is magical.
You guys do a great job of this. It is nice to see players who like to play quietly and know how to find the pocket. This performance is inspiring. Nice job guys.

I have seen you all at The Wildey Theater in Edwardsville, IL several times and it is always an outstanding show. Superb musicianship and showmanship. Looking forward to your next performance there.
An incredible reproduction of what is some difficult music to play. Timing, performance both vocally and instrumentally were amazing.
Covered beautifully. Congratulation!
Picking up jaw from the floor.
Guys seriously this gave me chills. One of the best rock songs of all time. Steve Gadd !! You guys are sooooo good. Talent !!!!
honey wake up, the charmers just posted
Holy Shit guys! Incredible
Wow. Great cover. This song is a monster. The drum/sax solo was awesome. I'm usually disappointed by the drum fill but it was handled so well by NOT trying to emulate Steve Gadd but playing musically to the tune.
Thanks for this!
One of SD’s hardest pieces to reproduce.
You fellas do it real justice 💕
👏👏👏👏👏
You guys are amazing!!! I won’t stop following you from now on!!!👌🏻
some of the most iconic drumming in a pop/rock song ever and Alex, you nailed it. A few extra rolls to put your mark on it as well as the rest of the guys. Awesome recreation
The miracle cover
WOW; I’m impressed!
Kudos to the drummer and the saxophone.
I'm 70 year's old and Blown Away with this !
Listened out for the police whistle. Was not disappointed😆
Fab 🎼👌
This is high quality - a great cover ❤
Goosebumps! 🤘
Well well well, turns out they DO make 'em like they used to -- really impressive, fellas.
THIS IS SO GOOD
great drumming, steve would be gladd
WOW
The math behind the guitarist in the middle of the solo had me rolling. Amazing performance and a sub well earned🤣🤘
Beeutifull
Incredible! Probably their most difficult song and you guys nailed it!
How? How the hell can anyone cover Aja and make it sound so painfully awesome?! This is incredible. Grinning ear to ear. I did not hear the famous Steve Gadd stick-click, however, so I'm a bit suspicious of THAT, but maybe I just missed it! Going to Patreon riiiight about now.
lololol the floating math equations during the dias solo is 10/10
Brilliant guys, just stumbled into this, 👌
Best I've heard, and as a Dan fan I do not impress easily!
The rhythm section was fantastic all around. I enjoyed both players.
The vocalist on keys has a nicer, more natural voice than Fagen, IMO! though he never professed to be a true singer.
Sax was also great here.
Thanks from Nr. London UK
🎉
YOOOOO The ending solo was really reminiscent of something I feel like Christopher Cross would've thrown down on the track. SHEEEESH.
Amazing amazing amazing
Sounds amazing
Woff!!!!
This is the quintessential Brooklyn Charmers tune.
Sensational! Wow!
Best Steely Dan cover I've ever heard
Certainly a lot of work. Well done.
Perfect. Just. Perfect. Wayne Shorter, Denny Dias, Walter Becker, Steve Gadd all played on this track. And you nailed it!
A+ 💯 for sure!
Fantastic guys.
Amazing ...
Braaavvvooooo!!!
Those 2-stroke rolls tho...so smooth...
Brilliant ❤
A new line up but still sounding great. I won't use all the audiophile mumbo jumbo and just say it was well worth piping it through my 3000 watt system so the whole neighborhood could hear it.
Wow!!!!
I finally find you! wonderful!
Wow! fantastic. when will you be charming us in Brooklyn?
The combination of the sax and the drums is nothing but magical. And the vocal speaks the story. It’s like something everyone should hear.
Excellence, great drumming.
Steely Dan...music worth playing!
Great cover. Thank you.
Totally Awesome ❤
Cool, Eric Stewart on keys.
Phenomenal.
Good stuff!
WOW, that’s fantastic!!! That’s a whole lot of work!! Thanks for this one
Love from Mumbai!!!! 🤗
Great job!!!!!!
That was good
Steely Dan are reality poets and exceptional musicians than their contemporaries, particularly The Eagles, that sold millions. Steely Dan is the best; Brooklyn Charmers gives justice to their legacy. Great cover as always. Thanks.
That was tight.
that dark green custom guitar with the paddle headstock and funky pick guard is pretty sweet
Wish there was a LOVE IT button!
EXCELLENCE!
😍👍
Damn! Ya'll play it EXACTLY like SD. Right down to a T. Kudos to you, gentlemen.
Superb
Wow!....even the whistle!!
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome, well played!
Wow fabulous job guys, I love this!!
Grand. Divine. Just a wonderful cover. Everyone in that room is TIGHT. Love this. Come to the midwest sometime please :)
This was so delightful. Not only were all the musicians killing it, but Colin Peterik's video direction and editing took me right where I wanted to go, visually speaking. Thank you all for creating this performance. You rock.
That double bass fill @ 5:22 YESSIREEEEE 🫡🫡🫡
An absolutely amazing cover!
Remarkable, true to the original, well done !!
Wow, awesome performance!!
Indeed charmers
Thank you Brooklyn Charmers. Your music brings me tremendous joy. Thank you for sharing your unbelievable talent with the world. Rock (or Jazz) on my brothers!

Amazing, you guys freakin' nailed it. Thank you! I love these covers, you guys couldn't be better. 😎
Bravo! Excellent cover!!
I gotta say the drumming was off the hook, amazing job the groove and the subtleties were spot on.
I'd love to see you guys attempt at a cover of the lost song "Second Arrangement' by steely dan
Strong hug from Manaus.
Nice!
I don't think I've ever heard Steely Dan covered so perfectly.
