    Fun Fact: The SEGA-CD sound chip works exactly as the sound chip used in the SNES, so it plays instruments based in samples (soundfonts). This is why it sounds like a Yoshi's Island music, because it uses some of the same instruments.
    EDIT: YOU FOOLS, THIS IS 4 YEARS OLD, I ALREADY KNOW BY NOW!!!

Channel 5 makes some unique wack sounds sometimes but it's still real nice. I like the way unused Channels become drums and percussion, smart move. For those who don't know and are confused - Sega CD is combination between Sega Megadrive/Genesis Yamaha sound chip + full quality CD MP3 player.
    Nothing like SNES. SNES is identical to MIDI, sample-based. Only thing- Sega Megadrive/genesis has two channels that allow use of samples.
    Sonic CD all PAST levels have music tracks on Megadrive Yamaha sound chip + using two sample chanels. The rest Sonic CD levels Present and BAD/GOOD future - full CD MP3 tracks.
    That's why you can have Oscilloscope Deconstruction only for "THE PAST" tracks, but not for Present and Future (Good/Bad) tracks - since those are MP3 stereo.

    • @Turbulation1
      @Turbulation1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      And I will also clear your confusion.
      The Sonic CD Past tracks aren't made using the Megadrive's Yamaha Soundchip but rather the Sega CD's Ricoh RF5C164 sound chip, which had 8 sample-based channels much like the Snes, but the main difference between it was that there was no filter on the sounds meaning they sounded much scratchier and generally compressed but did have higher frequences and were also less compressed than SNES samples.
      All the other Sonic CD tracks also play via Redbook Audio and not an MP3 player, which would be the equivalent to WAV files.
