    I built a pair of these, family of six, as pub height picnic tables. All 2x6 construction. I expanded the tops to 40.5 X 40.5 inches. I also added a hole for an umbrella, I offset the hole 6 inches off center both length and width so it was not positioned in the middle of someone's face. They get lots of compliments.

      I had to do another small modification. I found the seats getting a little loose, the deck screws were just not holding well enough. I placed a 2or between the joists under the seats with carriage bolts through both joists and the 2x4. I then replaced the 2 piece seat with a single piece of 2x12 bolted to the 2x4 with 2 carriage bolts. This really secured the seats.

      @@dmeenkster Ya, that's probably a better way to do it. Good job

    thats pretty bad ass! I look at the lumber you guys get in the states and its amazing. Here in Canada the hardware stores mostly sell knotty pretzels. I will put this on my build list, i bet it will sell

    I like your confidence, experience, and how you made that look easy. But, you and I both know that is harder than a honeymoon pecker!

    So in the video you were trying out the seat and see how comfortable you can sit and you end up cutting part of that board off. how long is the board for the seats and what is the length for the other boards for the other two seats.i want to build this table.

    Hey killer, I know it’s been a few years, but did you glue together the section you used as a table top? Or, just let the 3.5” boards hold them together. Thanks.

    Nice build. Did you use plans or design it yourself? If plans, where did you get them?

    • @HalfAHandyman

      I think we had plans we found online but had to alter them. It's been so long that I dont remember. Thanks and good luck with your build.

    Did you used pressure treated lumber when you built the pub top table?

    • @HalfAHandyman
      @HalfAHandyman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually don't remember. It's been over a year. Hopefully we did. Anything that's going outside needs to be pressure treated though.

    Fun build, but using outdated British measuring systems is nonsense. Measure 7 hogs heads and a 4 bristles edges, then cut!
