I couldn't really tell from the video, but was there any rust or water collecting underneath the tub. Just wondering if I need to do any preventative maintenance.
@@Bupalooga1 the brackets fit because they were made for a ba but when i removed the tub i had to tap a thread where some of the bolts went in there was blank holes pre mad to tap thread into Thanks anyway
Matthew Millar both the sedan & ute are body on frame I THINK. & very much identical in the front half with all suspension engine etc components interchangeable. But with everything behind the drivers seat completely different.
Probally too late to help you but I believe an easier way out is to remove the plastic liner then cut a hole in the metal sheet that covers the fuel pump area.
+Davin Peacock Made it into an Air-bagged pool trailer for the summer. Its in pieces while I do some cosmetic work but ill probably do a video on it in a few more months.
Indeed i did, hoping to take a welding course this year and practice on this making up a frame. If I'm feeling fancy could even find a pump and a few water jets to make it a jakoozie
+Momen Kazi yea naa its definitely called a tub mate. I replaced it with a custom fabricated steel tray. Google images 'Ute tub' & then 'ute tray', similar, but there's a difference. Already put a tarp in it and used it as a pool.
You're a legend man
No way was i expecting to actually find someone who would make such a good video!
Cheers!!
Best pool ever , gives it a whole new meaning of car pooling with YA mates 👍
Wow a lot easier than i was expecting
Thank you so much for this video mate you are both a gentleman and a scholar
Thanks You have saved me a heap of aggravation. I have subscribed.
Good job man. Pulled one off a Fg GS ute thats been hit up the arse just last week.
Thanks for that mate. It looks identical to my AU.
Cheers for the vid mate. Doing tub to tray conversion and putting a ram to make tipper on my fg.
Thanks mate, This has been such a helpful video could you put another video about putting the tub back onto the ute or is it pretty simple. Cheers
thanks dude, would've really liked to see it being lifted off too ! but great anyway cheers
thanks for speeding through all the rubbish. so many armatures don't. great vid
I just need a video of how to put one on and the size of all bolts
Good work mate. Really helpful
I have a 50th anniversary ute
I am curious to why you took your tub off
What are your plans for your ute ?
Thank you, Very informative
Any tips on installing tray? 🙏
good video mate
Thanks mate! Very helpful! :)
cheers mate. love a 6turbo!!!!
great video mate thanks for the help
You da man bro thanks for posting
great work mate

Sweet, good info
Does a falcon ute aluminum tray just bolt straight onto the chassi rails without drilling any holes
Reply might be a bit late but I'd say if it's made to suit a falcon it would use the factory mounting points
@@Bupalooga1 the brackets fit because they were made for a ba but when i removed the tub i had to tap a thread where some of the bolts went in there was blank holes pre mad to tap thread into
Thanks anyway
Good vid mate
reckon i can do the same with my FG mk2 except it’s gas LPI? maybe shouldn’t risk it?
You should be fine mate. If the gas tanks are under the vehicle then only the filler neck might be slightly different, that's it.
Did you make a video of fitting the tray? Good video mate.
Darryl Rowe naa sorry, a steel tray was fabricated & fitted by a local shop. google image search "bupalooga falcon"
Does anyone know if the AU tub and the BA tub are the same, are they inter-changeable?
Duane Whatuira I think they're different, different mounting points at least
This work for fgx?
Is it the same process with a BF? And I want to convert mine to tray back, does it all bolt back up the same?
Same process as far as I know, although the tubs are a little different so expect some slight variation on number of bolts and their placement.
@@Bupalooga1 I had to change a few mounts for the tray but it was all pretty straight forward :)
Is this unibody or body on frame? Is it the same as the sedan? I'm from Canada and I love these but I know nothing about them. 🤔

Hi there i have a tray back fg and i want to put a tub on it can it be done
Sure can mate! FG mk1, mk2 & fgx tubs are all the same. Just unbolt the tray watch the video backwards to put the tub on.
Removing mine today, to remove the fuel pump, not reading the correct fuel, measure
Probally too late to help you but I believe an easier way out is to remove the plastic liner then cut a hole in the metal sheet that covers the fuel pump area.
@@Bupalooga1 I was watching this video just to hope there was already a whole under the liner for the fuel pump
good job bro .. so what did you end up doing with tub ?
+Davin Peacock Made it into an Air-bagged pool trailer for the summer. Its in pieces while I do some cosmetic work but ill probably do a video on it in a few more months.
Did you say a pool ?
Indeed i did, hoping to take a welding course this year and practice on this making up a frame. If I'm feeling fancy could even find a pump and a few water jets to make it a jakoozie
Its called a tray not a tub, now it reminded me of a bathtub! just seal the gaps on the tailgate then use as a bathtub!

+Bupalooga1 LOL, enjoy the pool!
+Momen Kazi DOH there's a difference between a tub and a tray , and you obviously dont know it.
this is tub
+Davin Peacock true mate.
if anyone rang a wrecker and asked for a tray they'd get exactly that... an alloy tray. :)
