    I like autodoc videos. Straight to the point and he improvises brilliantly. No need for the ball joint removal tool? Just pound the control arm out of the steering knuckle? Cool!

    Great video ... the bushing on these control arms go bad frequently ... I have to change one every year it seems ... the NY roads don't help but I wish they would make more heavy duty bushings for them

      If I were you, I would put in polyurethane bushings with a life time warranty. You can use your old control arms and have someone press them in. The roads are not great here in California but better than other parts of the country. I don't do any off road stuff and am changing them at 175,000 miles. Good luck.

    excellent video - thank you! is it necessary to jack it up to tighten it up after the install? what's the purpose of that?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the feedback!The need for lifting the arm is to give the nodes the load that is necessary for the installation and proper positioning of the suspension components.Best regards, Autodoc.

    Do you need to have both wheels off the ground so you can move the assembly to get it to fit?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback! When replacing this arm, it is sufficient just to take off only one wheel from the side of the car part being replaced. Best regards, Autodoc.

    hey! great videos! One question, is the a set load on suspension to tighten it, or you just need to lift it some and that's it?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the feedback!In this case, the load that was applied is quite enough, but in some cases the car must be fully loaded, it means to stand on the floor.Best regards, Autodoc.

    • @MrLecher69
      @MrLecher69 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      autodoc.co.uk oh, so actually it once it needs to be tighten, it can be jacked down on the floor? Thank you in advance!

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback! You are absolutely right, after the repair the car should be jacked down. Best Regards, Autodoc.

    But the component you are replacing is called the UPPER / tracking arm.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback ! This video shows the replacement of the lower arm. Why do you think that is is the replacement of the upper one? Best regards, Autodoc.

    Does anything need to be torqued back to spec?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback! To save the time in the video some stages of the repairs might have been excluded.. In practice the torque wrench should be used. Best Regards, Autodoc.
