    Attention! This video contains mistakes:
    3:33 - the tightening torque is 56 Nm, not 65 Nm.
    4:18 - the tightening torque is 140 Nm, not 120 Nm.
    We're sorry for the inconvenience 🙇‍♂

    I did this job today. You need a hacksaw machine to cut the inside bolt off. Buy a new bolt ect at the bmw dealer only 10$. Then you can get it off and replace it. Most likely with the age off these cars there will be salt and rust. This is the way I did it. Learn easily from me and save the pain for later

    I ordered a control arm after watching this video thinking its easy to do. Turns out a control arm/wish bone is something else. This is a Guiding suspension link. Now I need a video showing how to do the rear control arm.

      Check for which car you need the video.
      This video is for the rear arm.

      @@autodocuk I have the same car in the video. I ordered rear control arms from the parts department and I got something else. So after checking the parts catalogue I found out the part being replaced in this video is called a guiding suspension link. The part they call control arm is the part referred to as the wishbone by BMW. Its bigger than this and it goes on the bottom it has brake line attached on top of it. It looks way harder to replace.

    Need to explain why the part is being changed and symptoms of it being bad

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The replacement of the lever is due to the poor condition of the silent block and the ball joint on the lever. The consequences are knocks and noises from the rear suspension.

    You don't mention getting a alignment after this. Is it needed?

      Yes, after any work related to the suspension of the car, it is recommended to adjust the wheel alignment.

    hi , Thank you for your first class videos. they are really excellent. i have an E53 that constantly makes a squicky noise from the RH rear wheel area. Is it caused by this suspension arm? will replacing it fix the squicky noise in your experience?

      I have this question too. I’m completely stupid about suspension systems. Did you find an answer? What parts do I need to replace?

    You left out a HUGE part of this job and didn't even mention that this is an adjustable component for camber! The inner bolt is concentric and you put white marks for location before removal that can be seen on the assembly part. If people don't know this, the alignment will be way off!! Huge fail. Do it right or don't bother posting please.
