Here’s a great tip: You don’t have to buy three large spools in every color. Buy one large spool in every color and fill several bobbins, they fit on the thread holders. It saves a lot of money. Also, use the thread caps to top off the bobbins while on the thread holders.
Thank you for this! I have a Janome 2000cpx and I was hesitant to do these things, but not anymore! I love your 1/2" hem idea and I'll definitely use these techniques! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the best video I've seen on using the coverstitch 😊👍❤
Your video was helpful for me in that I am comparing the Brother 2340 Cover Stitch Machine to the Janome you have. You made the finishing and thread cutting quite easy. Thank You So Much.
I have this awesome machine and I love it. Great video. I like a dedicated machine and this does so much more than just cover stitches. I just did not want to convert my serger to a cover stitch and then back again. Also the 5.5" opening (unlike the serger) allows stitching further into the middle of garment.
I sure like your on cam personality. Just a quick tip, fold the end of the strap at the beginning across and in, when you get to the end as well then it's done, a nice finish. Thank you for sharing. You have a very friendly face too. Have a great day.
I ordered my Janome today from Amazon. I can't wait to get it! I'm so tired of dealing with hem stitches that keep coming out. I don't like the way my sewing machine does the hem stitches with a double needle. I'm look forward to a more professional finish to my garments. Thank you for this video!! :D
very helpful video... Couldn't decide between this and 1000cpx, but decided to get 900cpx like yours... It seems to do everything I would need. Also your video answered several questions I had like shortcuts to hemming... I also use 1/4 in using foot as guide, and how to end the stitch (Very important)
This Coverpro 900 only does a 6mm wide coverstitch, not the narrower 2.8 mm coverstitch that the newer ones have. The newer Coverpro 2000, does both stitches.
Really enjoyed watching your video. I know everyone hates the sound of their own voice recorded but I found your voice lovely. I know you are busy with your family but if you could find a way to do more youtubes it would be so nice to go with your tutorials
I can't seem to sew past the fabric. the threads get all tangled up with the looper. I'll have to try your technique on removing the fabric. thank you for making this video!
No, I haven't. Have you re-threaded it lately? After checking that, I would replace the needles. If that still doesn't work, perhaps your machine needs servicing. Good luck! xoxo
I can't figure out how to thread the machine according to the instructions. Can you please send me a picture of how your machine is threaded or do a video on how to thread it? Thanks
I have the Janome1000 I can't never using it for sewing lycra I change the needles and nothing Im very frustared I bought for sewing lycra and just don't work. Lot of skips and ugly stitch. Any advise for sewing lycra.
Thank you for the video, it is inspiring! I am thinking about a cover stitch machine to buy. After some time having Janome 900 with 2 needles, do you think that it's enough, or 3 needles would be better? One more question, if you don't mind. I recently moved to CA, and haven't found good fabric stores yet. I see you have lot's of fabric. Could you please recommend where it's better to shop? Online stores maybe?
Bonniejean Pearson the 1000 can do a 3-thread coverstitch and uses an extra thread. The 900 cpx uses 3 threads and can only do a 2 thread coverstitch. Also, the 1000 costs a whole lot more than the 900 cpx. I paid $379 for my 900 cpx from my dealer and it includes lessons on how to use it. My dealer said the 1000 was a $1,000 machine. I only sew for my family and couldn’t justify the more expensive machine. Hope this helps
Hi Livy! I am using it more than ever and she purrs like a dream! The only hiccup I ever had was when I tried regular thread. I switched back to maxi-lock and no problem at all. I have a couple sewing friends that come over to use this machine on a regular basis. Beware... your home might become a sewing hub, lol. xoxo, Caroline
Hi. So after a few years, do you feel you’ve “outgrown” the machine? I just bought one and got a good deal on an open box demo at my local sewing machine shop. But I’m wondering if I should have spent the extra money for the 1000cpx. I am worrying because I only have one available distance between the two needles, vs the two widths on the 1000. I don’t necessarily care about the 3 rows of stitching. Just wondering what your thoughts are after a few years.
This happens to me sometimes and is hard to completely fix. Try sliding the little tension slider to the right. You can also turn down the looper tension and try thicker fabric. Good luck!
+Gina Skinner go down to 2 and see what happens. Then 1. Don't be afraid to experiment on scrap fabric. The default tensions are clearly marked so you can go back. :)

Thanks for the tip. I am just learning to use mine and this is great to know. I will be buying more bobbins to start building a stash of colors.
The blah blah blah at the beginning was sweet and I love your video x

I watched your video at least 10 times and Finally ordered one for myself. Thx for taking the time to demo. It really helped me make my decision!

1Toffeey I like this machine because of the extra wide area to cover stitch further into the middle,of a garment.

Use a starter piece of spare fabric to get going and finish the same way so that piece is in the machine when not in use.

Thank you for your video! You are great at showing how to use it!!!!
could you do a video on how you bound the top using your coverstitch machine of the shirt you are wearing in the video?
excellent demonstration

Kay Cramer
I made that mistake too. You can not sew past the fabric on a Coverpro, only with a serger.
Where do you get the wooly nylon thread from?
I have this machine and have MAJOR problems with skipped stitches... have you had this problem?
Let me also add that I'm almost certain it's user error, so I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong

Hi, does this machine do one needle chain stitch?
Yes.
OH MY GOSH!! I simply LOVE that fabric! Where did you get it
I'm sorry, that was so long ago I can't remember. I love The Fabric Fairy for knit fabrics so maybe there? xoxo
Thank Gurl!! 👌✨
How does this machine work in jersey knit fabric?
It works great!
What is the difference between the 900 and the 1000? Is there a package deal on the accessories (attachments)?

Collaretera janome quiero el precio
unfortunately the camera is too far away to see it exactly:(
+Heike Holder Yeah, I had to do this with my laptop... I'm not very video savvy. Sorry!
Wow what a really rude person you are. She did a great job explaining everything.
How is your Janome Coverstitch holding up after 2years? I am thinking of purchasing one for myself. Thank you!

I just got a my Janome 900CPX. I can't seem to get the machine from puckering between the needles. What settings are you using?
This happens to me sometimes and is hard to completely fix. Try sliding the little tension slider to the right. You can also turn down the looper tension and try thicker fabric. Good luck!
+Gina Skinner When you say turn down the looper tension, it is set on 3 right now...do I go up in number or down? I feel dumb for asking! Lol

Good job with the tutorial!
спасибо!
I don't have problems on wovens. The knits are a different story. When they show you in a shop it's wovens. T bgg ey need to show knits

I want to see the stitches, learned nothing from this video!
Too much distracting tongue clicking and “ummms” in the dialogue.
