Glad you liked it! I am excited to get out there more and keep chasing! Trout are such pretty fish and very fun to target. Still learning a lot and can’t wait to learn more. Stay tuned Joe Joe 🤠👊🏽
Don’t they smell REFRESHING?! 🤣😂🤣Bring a leaf blower and blow them leaves an hour before...THEN ago through the woods! Dadgum! You got deer out there with ya! Small win is still a win! Beautiful brownie! Deer, turkey, trout...hence the name “Online Outdoorsman” RIGHT? Awesome! Size 13? 6’6”...🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️...go barefoot bud!😂🤣😂...you’d been a great defenseman on a hockey team! But I’m happy you’re here showing/teaching me your ways on all the Michigan waters! 12” brownie! Great time! Awesome video Ethan! BABAAM!!
Yes! Another trout video! I enjoyed these a ton last year. I have been wanting to get into this stream trout fishing, but it's a lot harder to find streams than it is lakes it seems like.
Yeah finding productive trout streams ain’t easy! I put in a lot of time to find my stretches but now I want more places to try. So I gotta start putting miles on the muck boots 🤠
I've been pretty bummed thanks to being quarantined to my room thanks to good ol covid exposure. Was almost out of youtube content to watch for the day and then you drop this bad boy!!
Thanks man! I was finally able to get tested yesterday. Luckily, I've been asymptomatic so far if I did catch it. The nice thing about a coronacation is I've been able to finally organize my tackle the way I want it! 😂😂😂
Oh Baby trout season of online outdoorsman is on the trout grind time for some great vids, can’t wait for more trout vids and my dad uses the gulp baits when it is slow we call them stanky baits we bust each other along with my cousin for what baits we use, my dad always gets short struck we say stankybaits: smell good taste bad because he never hooks them on the first take. Tight lines Ethan keep on the grind we love the vids
Another great video. I've just started using trout magnet for multispecies with great success ( Smallmouth, panfish, perch love them in streams or lakes ) ... Last few times like you in this video went trout fishing instead ... Using trout magnets ( love that pink lemonade color ) and small float got several 13-18 browns and rainbows in an hour both days. Beauty is the float also minimizes snags as it drifts through the holes. -Tight lines
What a cool place. In my area, I can't find any trout streams with walkable banks. They're all like tunnels through thick brush. Again, thanks for a fun video. I like your enjoyment of the whole experience, not just the fish landed.
Bro you had me dying when you said you don’t have the characteristics to be a ninja 😂😂😂😂 you seem genuinely mad you don’t have what it takes to fill the ninja shoes 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ethan. Next time try the 2.5" or 1" gulp minnows. I usually use the 3" ones to drop shot for bass. Love the trout videos btw. Actually i watch all your videos.
1) trout are dope 2) tiger trout are nuts! Def want to catch some whenever I get the chance. Obviously, being a hybrid which can’t reproduce, I’ll have to find stocked tiger trout waters
Just do that on a steelhead creek. Hit up a small creek (even that sized) by the first big waterfall or rapid after a big rain, do the same thing (maybe with 8lb leader) you'll get a fish to be thumbnail worthy.
@@FishAnything They're just big trout after all. Here on the Niagara river a jig with a white powerbait fluke is a very common presentation. I even had a steelhead eat my ned rig this spring while smallmouth fishing.
I bet your 1” gulps would have caught more as the hook would be more likely ingested. My local trout lake has frozen so it might be time to give some gulps a go through the ice soon
I want to try them however my fear is that it simply won’t intrigue the larger trout. The bigger browns definitely seem to show out more when I up my lure profile.
Doesn't sound like much of a difference but trust me , an old Trout Guide, the 2.5 inch model is tops. Get that in Watermelon Pearl. Rig it on a #6 octopus hook. Thread it like a worm. Use one to two bb sinkers 8 to 10 inches above the hook. Let drift do the work. Fish it upstream. Goes thru very natural. Killer rig. When drift isn't enough twitch or two on each drift is enough action. The smell and look is usually enough. Ad for plastic bag, take minnows and transfer them onto small condiment size nalgene bottles. Less mess and packs on vest better. Good luck
Great vid pal I’ve been wanting to try soft plastics for wild browns n I recently got recommended Berkeley twitch tail minnows so I’m gonna by some tomorrow and give it a go I use mostly mepps spinners or Rapala hard plastic lures and some Salmo lures too so hoping to catch on soft plastics as it’s the only lure I haven’t caught on ps what is a short strike? I’ve never heard that term take it easy n tight lines ✌🏻💙👍🏻♥️🎣🏴
@@FishAnything Sorry I meant to ask 🤷🏼♂️ I use a 5ft 6 UL Abu Garcia Devil spin rod n I love it so much and I’ve only used braid once (Daiwa j braid) but as my rod is really short I never used a leader I just tied my mini clip straight to the braid I wanted to know if a 5ft 6 rod is too short to use a leader so really what I’m asking is what is the shortest length leader I could use on my small rod? I’ve asked so many people on so many vids with no replies 🤷🏼♂️ I thought with my rod being so short I wouldn’t be able to get a leader on but hopefully you can answer my query 😉 thanks in advance ✌🏻💙👍🏻♥️🎣🏴
Those leaf are underrated by most fisherman but they can still be a great time of fishing! You should look for a few sheds while out on the trout. Probably not dropping sheds till late January or February in your area, though not sure cause I'm not an expert at it. But it would be a cool find for you. Those brownies you caught were gorgeous.
I have no idea when they drop them but I will be looking. Going to be a hell of an area to look - the whole ground is covered with a tan brush - it will be like a dang needle in a haystack. Except the needle is the same color as hay.
My favorite videos of yours are the trout videos
More to come Joel 🤠🤙🏽
Great video. Trout is what started me on this channel!
Glad you liked it! I am excited to get out there more and keep chasing! Trout are such pretty fish and very fun to target. Still learning a lot and can’t wait to learn more. Stay tuned Joe Joe 🤠👊🏽
You should have those trophy leafs mounted🤣🤣🤣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Haha good point, maybe I’ll have a replica mount made 🤣🤣
@@FishAnything 🤣🎣
Absolutely love the vibes you get trout fishing
I get all sorts of weird chasing trout 🤠
Browns had crazy color too
Yeah so pretty! And thanks for the kind words. Tight lines!

BABAMMMM lol tight lines dude
Definitely a great video Ethan! Quintessential Michigan fall; trout in the stream and deer in the woods. Love it!!!
Thanks Michael! Such a blast 🤠👊🏽
I love trout fishing so much fun too catch beautiful fish they also put up a good fight
Yeah they fight hard on light gear! And they are freaking beautiful too! Love these fish 🤠
Nice! Always love the wildlife sightings when out fishing. Icing on the cake haha. Trout spots are always so pretty.
Trout live in much cooler areas than bass. There I said it 🤠
@@FishAnything depending on the bass species 😁🤣
Nice spot man. I am always amazed at how fish are in these small streams and creeks.
Crazy right? They do well in this small creek!

Sorry to hear it! Covid is booty - plain and simple. Hope you get back to normal life soon buddy

Thank you! And I’m glad we can agree on the ol’ Stanky Baits 🤣🤣 I like that name
Respect for the beard!
BEARD LIFE! 👹

I still need to try these! I’ll have to do the ol’ float and fly technique for trout soon!
What a cool place. In my area, I can't find any trout streams with walkable banks. They're all like tunnels through thick brush. Again, thanks for a fun video. I like your enjoyment of the whole experience, not just the fish landed.
Thanks Jim! Yeah this trout stream can also be a total pain in the rear to walk but it’s always worth it.
Nice video! This is my first year of trout fishing and I’m really enjoying going after brownies in the fall!
They are super neat fish! Can’t wait to get back out and chase some more 🤠
3" with an 1/8th long white jighead works great!
Good intel!
Bro you had me dying when you said you don’t have the characteristics to be a ninja 😂😂😂😂 you seem genuinely mad you don’t have what it takes to fill the ninja shoes 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still trying to become a ninja, but sadly I just don't seem to have what it takes. Might have to get a tutor.
way to go you caught a dink master trout way to keep it going
It is what I do :)
I don't love the hardness of those gulps but great video. I will definitely be watching more
Got my first Rainbow of the year yesterday. I have never tried Gulp minnows for them, will have to try that next time.
Hope they work well for bows too! Glad you’re getting into some fish 🤠
Trout man is popping the stinky gulp....
Ethan. Next time try the 2.5" or 1" gulp minnows. I usually use the 3" ones to drop shot for bass.
Love the trout videos btw. Actually i watch all your videos.
Thanks Henry! I’ll have to pick up the 2.5” as well. The 1” will be used eventually - probably will catch a lot of quantity but likely less quality.
After catching my first trout this year I know why you like fishing for them, they fight like a smallmouth!
1) trout are dope
2) tiger trout are nuts! Def want to catch some whenever I get the chance. Obviously, being a hybrid which can’t reproduce, I’ll have to find stocked tiger trout waters
Ned rigs slay trout too!
#NedRig4Life 🤠👊🏽
Do you ever use any powerbait dough for trout in the streams?
Honestly still haven't tried it. I know it will likely work but I have a lot of fun working a bait so I haven't taken the time to go out and try.
@@FishAnything thanks man really enjoy your channel!!
Drop it and jig it slow pop it up and down those minnows are my favorite
They are so productive! Huge fan of gulp
Just do that on a steelhead creek. Hit up a small creek (even that sized) by the first big waterfall or rapid after a big rain, do the same thing (maybe with 8lb leader) you'll get a fish to be thumbnail worthy.
The steelhead will smash this rig too???? Now you’ve intrigued me!
@@FishAnything They're just big trout after all. Here on the Niagara river a jig with a white powerbait fluke is a very common presentation. I even had a steelhead eat my ned rig this spring while smallmouth fishing.
man.. ive used those keitech 2 1/2 inch swimbait for trout and crappie and they are killer.
I’m realizing they are solid! Very nice profile and subtle natural action
I agree man daylight savings time sucks down here in Indiana as well. BTW what do you do for work?
Ain’t it booty? And I am in sales for a food company!
Just tell me where this is
🤣🤣🤣 that takes all the fun out of the process!
How good are rooster tails? For trout
It is a classic! They are good but I personally prefer Panther Martin or Blue Fox Vibrax spinners!
I bet your 1” gulps would have caught more as the hook would be more likely ingested. My local trout lake has frozen so it might be time to give some gulps a go through the ice soon

walking the plank ,what could go wrong
I get a little sketchy on my trout fishing trips XD
I kinda like the smell of gulp minnows 😅…
haha well I suppose there are worse smells
