Honestly it sounds so good with tuba though. Tuba had a much more mellow warm tone at that range while euphonium is brighter and more powerful. They combine very well.
@@giovaniconforti1956 it’s true that it’s easier to play high on an F tuba, but I can still play up to the Bb above middle C on a BBb. It’s not impossible, but it’s much harder.
I play the Euphonium myself and (since i´m quarantined, thanks corona) i´ve started practicing Tuba as well. Now i know how hard it is to get the tone to sound as smooth as this guy gets it on Tuba. Mad respect to both of you though
Yes!..You see the talent and skill. I grew up playing Barritone and transitioned to BBb Tuba,...at 14, always trying to keep smoothe clean tone in upper register on Tuba. The sound is worth the effort. These guys have mastered it!
this is actualy the best duet combination, beautiful tuba tone and magical euphonuium tone I don't know if what i wrote is very english i'm french and i don't speak very good english !!!! beautifull video kisses from france
It’s so hauntingly beautiful, and the pure playing really compliments the arrangement. It speaks on so many emotional levels❤️ I just really feel like the ending is too abrupt for me, but either way, I loved listening to this...
Yes the two instruments are beautiful together! I'm in a Tuba Euphonium Ensemble and there's about 6 to 7 Tubas and 7 Euphoniums... beautiful dark sound!
That was a beautiful duet. Sumi Jo sings a wonderful vocal rendition of this piece. This piece is attributed to Caccini but was actually written by Vladimir Vavilov around 1970.
Noah Garcia could you give me tips on how to get that high with the best tone possible? I’m kinda new and I get a “pinchy” when I try and go over a G(top line of staff) I play a Bb btw.
This was fantastic! I love this arrangement for Tuba and Euphonium. It's one of my favorite pieces. Also, everyone should listen to Sumi Jo sing it. She is a great coloratura soprano, and this is one of her best pieces.
Euphonium is my favorite instrument. Im in quarantine but i still have my euphonium to play beautiful pieces. Beautiful piece! I was gonna do a duo with a french horn but COVID-19 ruined that
This is amazing, smooth, nice sounds coming from both of you. Keep doing your hard work, and I hope you’re having at least a decent time in quarantine. 😀
I used to play both. Mainly tuba though. I was quite good in high school. I know how difficult it can be to hold that kind of tone quality in those higher registers. That was a beautiful performance.
I love your playing as always, and your tuba friend was just as amazing. I just wish you wouldn't clickbait your videos. The title could have been "Ave Maria tuba and euphonium duet ft. Brian Kelly". I think it would make more people see your videos and take them seriously.
Fact. I almost didn't click on this video because of the title, would have been the biggest mistake of my life because these guys were so talented @matonizz
Just had a flashback of when I used to play tuba. Rarely up in the top range so much, but interesting combination here. Maybe I'll buy one if I can find a good deal and see if I still have it.
Well, I don’t know if that is exactly how it works, unless he is a euphonium player and used his euphonium mouthpiece on his tuba, which I have done before, the different size in mouthpiece will require a different skill set, the euphonium is just a tuba an octave up, so to get around the same experience one would play the tuba part an octave up on euphonium, or visa versa. So a B Flat 1 on a tuba, would be around the same feeling as a B flat 2 on euphonium.
And it's not even by Giulio Caccini. This piece was composed in 1970 by Vladimir Vavilov but since then it's been misattributed to Caccini, which is a composer from the Renaissance. Beautiful music, though.
Plot twist: The tuba is playing the top line.
:D Yep :D
@@Matonizz Somebody's confused.
samqui323 r/woooosh
In that case, how did the Tuba player made it alive
Wait no I was paying attention and euphonium was doing too
Omg the tuba guy has a high range. Mind blown 😲
Dang it he's on an F tuba
f tuba
Yeah, it’s fairly normal range for the f tuba.
@SinisterMinister Damn, I wanted to see someone play the extremely basic BB flat tuba and play notes like that
@@thebigstonk4386 its possible but it won't sound as good
Homie just got a euphonium duet and made the tuba play the second part😂
Honestly it sounds so good with tuba though. Tuba had a much more mellow warm tone at that range while euphonium is brighter and more powerful. They combine very well.
Those notes aren’t that hard with practice but he makes them sound so warm
Props to this tuba player, he is incredible!
How did he not die
I was blown away
It’s cause he was playing on a F tuba, you most likely have a Bb tuba like me
Yeah, as a tuba player who regularly plays that high and higher, i gotta give some mad respect
@@giovaniconforti1956 it’s true that it’s easier to play high on an F tuba, but I can still play up to the Bb above middle C on a BBb. It’s not impossible, but it’s much harder.
@@djhaynes136 i can play up to that note on concert tuba and sousa

For French horn it’s the same..I heard a guy play my heart will go on..on it and it was amazing
Low Brass Gang in a nutshell
Yes!..You see the talent and skill. I grew up playing Barritone and transitioned to BBb Tuba,...at 14, always trying to keep smoothe clean tone in upper register on Tuba. The sound is worth the effort. These guys have mastered it!
Damn i am still wondering how i dont hear a bit of bad fluttering in your sound.. You just sound amazing :D keep it up!!!
i’ve never heard something so beautiful come out of a tuba
I’ve watched the screamer version of this for trombone but I’ve never heard a practical version played so well!! Your sound is so clear.
this is actualy the best duet combination, beautiful tuba tone and magical euphonuium tone
I don't know if what i wrote is very english i'm french and i don't speak very good english !!!!
beautifull video

You did very well. Keep learning!
In fact this is some of the best English I’ve seen
I play the euphonium and right after i saw you guys play, my mouth dropped. LOW BRASS FOR LIFEEEEEEEEE
this is remarkably good. holy smokes
It’s so hauntingly beautiful, and the pure playing really compliments the arrangement. It speaks on so many emotional levels❤️ I just really feel like the ending is too abrupt for me, but either way, I loved listening to this...
They are so in tune, I never would’ve thought you could be that in tune. Lovely in all ways, keep the awesome work up!!
Yes the two instruments are beautiful together! I'm in a Tuba Euphonium Ensemble and there's about 6 to 7 Tubas and 7 Euphoniums... beautiful dark sound!
Woa... I played both 20 years ago in school. That's pretty high on the tuba mouthpiece. love the harmony.
This is my one of my favorite recordings of duets, I’ve ever heard in my entire life
This is....
BRASS POWER!!!!! 😲😱🤤
Still come back to this every once in a while. One of the best duets I've ever heard.
That was a beautiful duet.
Sumi Jo sings a wonderful vocal rendition of this piece.
This piece is attributed to Caccini but was actually written by Vladimir Vavilov around 1970.
Woah. The fact that the tuba was able to stay in that upper range is just mind blowing. Well done by both guys. Keep doing great stuff!
F tuba for you
Extremely super duet - coordination, blend of bass and tenor tuba. Awesome.
This was amazing, please please please do more of these duets on beautiful songs!!!
It's lovely
I love it. What i don't love is not being able to loop just the music
Better late than never
When you want to compliment the tuba's range but he is playing on an F tuba...
Obinna Nwakwue Even still, F tubas have a close enough bore to standard contrabass tubas that it’s mainly a matter of slotting.
I can just barely get that high on Bb tuba
@@jaydanbowland9617 same. My highest note is right around the d above the staff although I hope I can increase that as I continue high school.
Same buzz. The only differences are fingerings and partials.
Noah Garcia could you give me tips on how to get that high with the best tone possible? I’m kinda new and I get a “pinchy” when I try and go over a G(top line of staff) I play a Bb btw.
That was beautiful the way you two sounded together was just amazing
Mate I'm a Euphonium student and been playing for 4 years and when I saw this for the first time I cried. I love it and your work.
I really enjoyed this duet. Please do some more of these wonderful duets.
I play the tuba and I still play the euphonium, and I just gotta say that was amazing
That sounds so cool, I could not lost your streams.
Bravo, the duet sounds legendary👌🏻👌🏻
Tears and emotion. Thanks ! Ferdinando Razza
Mmm! Can agree, did a Tubachristmas a while back and it was only tubas and euphoniums. The songs we played sounded amazing
I am so close to getting this type of top range and it is killing me
Gentlemen. This Is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you very much. GOD bless and keep you

your high note tone is so.. so beautiful
Gorgeous! From a euphonium / tuba player in Tennessee.
Beautiful sound from that Tuba
Can’t stop re watching amazing job to the both of you

I like that quite a bit, as I grew up playing both instruments. Your work is especially well done! Thank you!
It sounds so good. You and Brian did a great job!

Really good
When you want to do a euphonium duet with your friend, but he only plays tuba and you don’t want to change the notes to lower them
DatTreeWillo Seedling I mean if you can play tuba you already know the notes for euph. Coming from someone who knows both instruments
DatTreeWillo Seedling same from tuba to bass trombone/euphonium/tenor
The only reason I know this song is cause some Asian guy did it on a trombone and showed off trombones highest notes
