I’m a tubist and most of the weight in marching band goes on the flappy part in between your thumb and 1st finger and you get bruises and stuff if you play for too long long.
The pressing on the valves is so real 🤣 I used to play trombone and watching my friends play their instruments with valves always made me want to press the valves
I would honestly recommend starting off on a bass tuba in F or Eb instead of a contrabass tuba like the one youre playing in Bb you need less air and the range feels more flexible, i started on an Eb then went to Bb to easily read sheet music for other instruments commonly in Bb then moved onto a C tuba as its the most commonly used is different ensemble play outside of like british brass bands
As a French Horn player, this is pretty much what I went through. The hardest thing was getting your lips to buzz! And my god, trying to find which valve or tube is causing it to bubble…
It's a tuba it looks like a baritone bc it's a beginners tuba and most players when they start out it's most likely going to be a upright piston 3 to 4 valve tuba and this tuba looks to be in the key of b flat or c hoped this helped😄
