Am I the only one who is extremely angry at the mother in this story? She wakes up her daughter early in the morning to scream at her for throwing away a present, doesn’t give her time to explain why and berates her, then slaps her own daughter when she gets angry with her. Like, wow, surprised that they didn’t bring this up and it kind of makes me concerned for OP, especially since the mother didn’t seem to apologize at the moment she did it.
It’s fucked up, but I get where she’s coming from. She sees that her daughter did something to hurt her husband after she just threw a nice party for her daughter. So she let emotions take over. Then when her daughter calls her husband a pedophile, when she has no reason to think that’s the case, she slaps her. Neither party used their right judgement here and both went by their feelings by jumping to conclusions instead of just talking. Mom just way overstepped

If you have someone you know and work with on a daily basis and has your trust enough to be your assistant, then it's not really all his fault for trusting him to buy a gift. the only thing i believe josh is at fault for is not being able to recognize that peter was a weirdo

Which also ended up putting her in a vulnrable position. That type of thing is always a lil fucked up, but is mostly harmless, in this case tho it was far from harmless. I wouldn’t be so quick to forgive the mom for laying hands. The “just let us explain” and her own tears are ironic, as that’s what the daughter was told was pointless in the beginning. I’ve been in a toxic manipulative relationship before and the “I’ll leave my husband if it makes you happy” thing stuck out as well, because these kinds of people will make unreasonable concessions like that knowing damn well you won’t take them up, they do it to get you to back down or make you out to be the bad guy if you try calling their bluff.

It would probably be hooked up to the same power source as the clock. A wifi or BT enabled camera. Think how often you have to change clock batteries, once every 1-2 years minimum? It would just be a clock that needs batteries more often than other clocks, which who would really pay attention to that (at least I wouldn't).
