    I thought you might like a look at this very original 1954 Chevrolet 210. It's powered by a 235 cubic inch Blue Flame Six, backed by a 2 spd Powerglide automatic. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look!

    Hello Ramblin, I thoroughly enjoy your videos of Country Classic cars. I had two 210 sedans over the years, both had the 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed standard. The cars were pretty basic, but lots of fun. I like the old cars as complete as possible. The airplane on the hood and the Chevy bow tie on the trunk lid would be nice additions to this car, but the Powerglide transmission on is a big plus. I hope to get to Staunton Illinois someday to see these cars in person.

      +BisquikXLT They're pretty cool cars. I'm not a huge fan of green, but I'd still take it.

    I like it! that's not something you see every day and separates itself from the regular 57+ Chev's you normally see everywhere. or at least at car shows.

    1954 was the first year that all Chevrolet engines had full pressure oiling of connecting rod bearings and aluminum pistons.

    I always liked the 54 better than the other 50's years. The lines are so rounded and flowing! I notice it has an 8 volt battery. Back in the day this was a common upgrade to 6 volt system cars. Easier starting and brighter lights. All you had to do was to adjust the voltage regulator setting a little higher so the battery would charge properly.

    Nice Jeff.. does it have the old cast iron power glide? man those things are heavy! but bullet proof!

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +1963impala2dr It does Ken. I think they used the cast iron power glides up until 63 or so.

    Someone told me that if the gear pattern had the reverse last on right it was a Turbo Glide trans. I was also told that the Power Glide is a much better trans. Just saying. Nice car and I was 5 years old back then but I was already becoming a car nut. Thanks for the videos.

    Nice old unit...I know the "early" cars didn't use a PCV but they had a breather style oil filler cap and that one has a sealed filler cap...I wonder why.?...What does the "210" stand for.?..

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ZIGgassedUP I'm afraid there is no real significance behind the 210....the production series number was 2100 and they just dropped a zero and called it the 210.

      To vent the crankcase there is a downdraft tube down below that draws air as the car is moving and the valve cover has small slots to allow air to enter.
