Also a neat little detail - After you kill the cyclops near the pawn encampment and create your pawn, if you go back to Cassadris before fighting the Hydra you will meet the Elysion and a secret cutscene plays.

@deathonator_6056 I keep forgetting that ferrystones can't be used indoors (it makes sense, I'm just an idiot) so keep trying. In a cave I used one, threw it up, it hits the roof and slaps the Arisen in the face. 10/10 will keep trying.
Buy empty bottles fill all your pawns inventory with them about halfway, and yours also, go to a healing pool and fill them, you have healing potions galore
Crows do have a proclivity for picking up shiny things, especially silver coins. Ive seen crow nests. Also, snakes and rabbits can survive in passive areas. Items in pawns inventory doesnt seem to age when a cursed dragon breaths. The mega breath instantly rots though. The Hydra thing can be done, but its difficult. The harpy thing can also be if you grab them while in the air.
@@jaredcrabb Not only that, but you can actually also just let go whenever you want. You can use this to reach otherwise inaccessible areas and, of course, hidden items.
I've played for a little over 300 hours and I only ever heard my first zombie dudette mumble "Where's my baby" in the last couple of hours. That sure freaked me the hell out and left me a bit depressed :D I tried sparing her "life" to let her say another thing but she never did. Those lines give these enemies such depth, i love it. Makes you think about who they were before they turned.
18:39 pawn inclination will encourage them to save you, triggered with High Medicant and Guardian points. If you have Challanger, Mitigator or amy other aggressive Inclination they'll focus on attacking the harpy instead of saving you
Corvidae in general do in fact collect shiny objects and even participate in very basic concepts of trade. You can train a crow to bring you certain objects in luding coins and bills in exchange for food. Magpies will even decorate their nests with shiny objects. Whatever research you did must have been incredibly surface layer.

Something i noticed recently in the mission where you have to free that one area from goblins and the two cyclops, once you kill the goblin boss if your char is small enough, you can jump through the window after him and kill him before he gets to their little cave lair thing
If you have a tiny pawn, you can toss them through the goblin's bolthole and they'll loot the room beyond for you. You can also shoot the goblin as he flees through it if you're fast enough on the draw and have a strong enough bow.
In DD1 there was a well spring you could find and if you filled up bottles with it you got the best potions in the game. Keep an eye out for that in DD2
another one VERY important... when you create a character the weight and size matter if the character is over 109 can carryweight over 100 and has more stamina
Its not as important as your indicating since pawns can carry stuff too. Also you sacrifice mobility by being a huge fat blob and being forced to play a hideous character.

Sometimes I wanna play as that big hulking brute executioner stereotype wielding a massive greatsword and decaptitating dragons left and right. Pair that with a skeletal thin sorc buddy that only uses dark sorceries like exequey, necromancy, and miasma and you have an iconic duo! Sometimes most of the fun in these games is intentionally handicapping yourself and coming up with inventive and fun ways to play that you never would have attempted before. Besides, playing as your favorite Kpop idol Emma Watson all the time gets old doesn't it?
My best friend had a crow that used to come to his bedroom window and would wake him up all the time. Eventually it actually started bringing him money and he would give it food and he managed to train it to keep doing it. Lol
He's up on a space you can't go. He walks off screen in the opposite direction of town... we don't need to head cannon design choice. I went back on my first playthrough because of the quest Lost and Found. I can only assume 90% of other people had the same reason.
Brother you need to watch some Vaati Vidya if you thought Dark Souls didn’t have this much detail. Their details are in the lore. Then again both companies are from Japan with a much more passionate philosophical approach than the soulless slop large Western corporations pump out.
Baudric also seems to not speak with the usual old english-y styled writing. He speaks mostly in common real life english, just a tad bit more dramatic than you would usually expect.
The whispers form death is indeed quite hard to make out but one of them I did make out. The second last one of the lines I somewhat heard it say “die arisen” couldn’t hear the others though

Im taking 11k for dd2. Gotta beat 1 record. And avoiding the internet til I 100% it. As for the ogre comment. Id sometimes take male pawns to throw them at the ogres when they go to grab. Or jump into an elder ogre grab (my pawn is female).

I like how this game actually gives your character falling and a death animation, if not most enemies rather than just a lazy, uncanny, ragdoll flop over that a lot of other games do. They put in enough detail to make dying look cinematic.
Absolutely ADORED this game!! This is what Rimming of the Sky by Howard of Todd should be more like!! The combat was awesome!! Why don't other games do this!? Loved the Berserk references as well where you could get Gut's armour and sword, and Griffith "did nothing wrong" armour!! Best combat mechanics bar none. Awesome RPG.
I think the honest answer is 'because it's difficult'. The fact Dragon's Dogma's combat works as well as it does with all of the systems at play is a huge testament to the people who worked on it.
Yes the crow-money is probably a reference to old RE 4, but magpies which are related to crows, do collect shiny things for their nests. And I don't think it's a big stretch that crows can be curious enough to randomly grab stuff occasionally out of boredom, after all they are smart so all those things can happen :p Especially getting bored. I think it happens in New Zealand to cars! Quite a looot actually, if I remember right... or Australia? I mean crows taking things from them.

If you look at a cyclops skull while its dissolving it turns into an elephant's skull. This is a reference to the proposed origins of the myth.
It’s not proposed. The island cyclops were claimed to be from is the same island as group of Pygmy elephants went extinct on.

Elder Ogres are somewhat opposite. Its not as good, but they still get stunned for a brief period.

Pawns will only fill 10 bottles then stop. So you have to micromanage their inventory.
a very easy way to make money early game too. Specially with there being a spring not far from Gran Soren 😉

What's also cool is that enemies can kill each other, though hard to get them to do. Death can one-shot bosses too if it spawns near one.

My biggest issue is the janky climbing camera. I love climbing so it causes tons of issues for me.

Not a timed attack, just need a .5 second delay. I almost never use the basic one for for melee weapon.
