Update: Theres a trick to Knock out the rainmaker fast by skipping some of the animation by swimming slightly to the side Comparison and explanation (though it is in japanese) twitter.com/yamawasabiFF/status/1417430465456214020
One more tip: When walking on uninkable surfaces, or when in a pinch and you won't have enough time to paint to swim forward, if you shoot the rainmaker in the opposite direction you're going, basically backwards, the rainmaker knockback will actually be faster than running. Maybe not if you have like 2 pures of run speed but that's besides the point
@@loganw7101 There needs to be more people like I was. I would toss my Berry Splattershot Pro into the abyss at the mere sight of an up-for-grabs Rainmaker. One time on Arowana Mall in like S rank I think, we were kinda in a stalemate, and I didn't notice our rainmaker single-handedly taking it to the end, and apparently neither did the enemy team. By the time I noticed, the match ended.
Great vid, can't wait to go play rainmaker and use the exact same routes I have for the past two years because we're all machines and the Splatoon grind is another meaningless obstacle we assign ourselves with no intentions of actively improving.

I AM SO HAPPY YOU POINTED OIT THE SKIPPER PAVILLION ONE. Even when I spam this way my teammates still go up the death ramp with the exception of one time where we easily won
I think there should be an Attack/defense rainmaker mode, instead of both teams going for points, one team is playing the defender side of rain maker while the other is playing attacker, oh and no overtime because the attackers will almost always have the rainmaker
For 4:48 The best shortcut for me is to take the inkrail on the left of the map and then walk on the top to the right and then it’s just a straight path
Oh, many of them I learned the hard way. Thanks so much for the guides. I knew about the moray towers but I haven´t see people to pull that off. From a demostration it seems easy but in the middle of chaos it is difficult to remember the best routes.
I really like that your mobility brella set has that 2 mains of run speed and swim speed, I should learn these too if I'm going to use mobility gear on my brella
I hate port when it’s towers or rain maker but hate it more for towers because it’s just always a one sided push. Rainmaker though is much more tolerable
unfortunatly rm boosting isnt really faster compared to walking in this game it was only really a thing in splat 1. The diffrence is too minor to the point where it doesnt make up for turning around
It's a rainmaker video so here I am again... For the record on starfish mainstage, I have had faster KOs then what he shown in the video. The problem here is how you are even shooting your path. You are taking an extra shot from what should be a direct path. When you pop the RM you take to that left side and shoot past the down ramp over the wall. This allows you to swim to the proceeding ramp in which cast you can do a tap shot shooting you backwards up the ramp and inking the ped at the same time. Saves you a full shot plus gains extra speed for the KO. Saves like 2 seconds... Humpback you are actually incorrect with the right side being easier. The problem is when you go right side you are normally funneling yourself into that right side corner. You NEVER want to do this. Instead you need your teammates to move up past this corner while you take shots so you can bypass the corner and reposition yourself. In terms of speed left side is faster then right as you can take 1 shot and it can ink most of your path to the wall, tap shot wall and U turn up it. Another tap shot inks ped instead of taking 3 shots which 2 are full shots on right side. Sturgeon shipyard is completely 100% wrong. This is one of the few maps i completely disagree. The reason is the left side is so much slower and its much more dangerous then just going thru mid/right side. Using the block (not the wall) and taking whichever direction you want. Preferred left here as you have the entire wall guarding you as you go for more points. While the cheeky cheap points suiciding is nice. its very weak. If you ever find yourself taking that left side the major shortcut is inking the sponge and swimming from that left side onto the sponge onto the other side. Its very quick for points and rarely does the sponge get shot down in the time you can make that jump. Objectively stick to mid as going left has to many ways to slow any momentum and basically give you reasons to stop like a deer in headlights as you can not see the enemy anywhere. Port RM is not terrible. But I can see where you would think that. Going left side provides so much more added protection. Going right side is more of opening yourself to blind shots. SPONGE IS AN ABSOLUTE NO AS RM. That is much slower and you have worse vision on the enemy then you think as they have many ways to approach you. Going left side has the sponge as a wall for protection, as well as the small gap making the enemy team very awkward if they are not set up to defend it. As well as you can push to the wall next to the ramp next to ped safer as they have a harder time shooting downward. Also creates a nice spot to hide if you can get RM on said ramp next to ped to sneak more points or a KO. Manta there are a lot of little tricks to this map. But in the spirit of the video for fastest path, this is generally correct. However you will find yourself getting stalled and pushed back. Ideally instead of going straight after that gap, fall to the right and use that bottom wall as more of a defensive position as you run forward. You can shoot over the wall in front of you and hit ped to ink your full path as you swim to victory. Kelp dome while I agree run right if the situation provides it, You have to take a full RM shot over the wall to ink your path. The idea is to hit just beyond the wall and hit the ped as well as ink your entire path to swim it. Stalling for a 2nd shot is never advisable. Snapper there is 1 little cheeky trick you never mention (and not surprised as i rarely use it myself). You see the wall under the ped going mid? If that is inked you can take it from the block and instead of running thru that uninkable area. You can actually swim the wall up to that right side very quickly. Its a real nice short cut as it is rarely ever reinked from the enemy so it will be there the whole match. Walleye warehouse there is a jump trick i tend to use that saves a little time as its a boost to protect yourself. When you are going up that ramp next to ped that is uninkable. Turn and shoot the Rm with a tap shot to boost you up onto the corner ledge. This provides a little extra speed (almost not worth it) and boosts you more behind the ped (adds great protection faster and makes it easier to KO as you are not as exposed). Goby I 100% agree on, but you can also use that inked part where you jump the gap to get over to the left side and skip that. Swim and jump forward and you can almost jump the entire uninked spot completely. Camp, while I agree and i love that inkrail short cut. You are jumping way too late. If you jump sooner off it, you can extend your range where you land higher up for more points. Still VERY useful as the enemies are lured to the right, so this jump inkrail spot normally lets you up freely. Wahoo again i argue is not safer going left as you have less field of vision then your enemy. Going mid might seem more dangerous, however you can see where the enemy is approaching from and how. Plus you can take set up shots with the RM to ink ped as well as your path once you do make that push. The last part about sting ray, while doing what you were doing is good. Swimming backwards when you turn direction with a tap shot is more useful as it adds an addition speed boost as well as inks the sting ray that just got stuff under your feet. Making for the turn around again when you dodge it easier. You do not want to be jumping over ink while being sting rayed. This slows you down and gives you longer times getting hit. Other then those little tidbits to it. Pretty solid video in fast paths. Very quick tutorial on it. Nice job.
@@ProChara there are streams of me showing it off, but its very few and far between. better explanation is where you took that ramp and jumped the gap onto the grate and called it a short cut right by ped. The wall under that gap you jumped. You can ink that and swim up as its faster then walking. If that helps explain where it is.
