100% comment skills I agree totally I love these videos because they’re the only ones that actually teach me about being a better PILOT rather than focusing on the theme park aspects of SC
I did not expect for you to make a whole video on this when asking about ESP on your stream yesterday lol really awesome content you make for the community... thanks for the time and effort you are putting in!
Thanks for these, I’ve been using these pointers in XT. I’ve realized that controller setup is way more important than people know, but they have to know what it is.
I wonder if there is merit to configuring a two stage trigger to have stage one to turn ON ESP and OFF on release so it only kicks in when I intend to home in onto the target and not punish for prenose/disengage
Man,this core skills series you have is awesome knowledge for someone new like myself.ive already learned so much from you dude, thank you for making this.
God I wish we could turn if completely off sometimes with a quick bind for none/user-setting. It's very counterproductive when anticipating a position and ESP goes...nope and forces a miss. Forces anticipation of upcoming target position + anticipating ESP movement so it does work against a pilot. Drives me nuts.
Holy shit is this how it works? I've misunderstood this for a long time holy crap. I wish yogi could come out and talk about these features in this much detail
I'm a bit confused between the image and your explanation. You say you use a 20% cone because its the biggest, the image shows 5% being the biggest. is it backwards or do I not understand the information correctly?
This video makes me wanna dive into SC dogfighting hard. There is a lot more under the hood than I thought. Coming from earthbound flight sims this is new grounds for me. Great work.
I always have trouble understanding your geometry. At 5:27 u say 20 degrees is the largest cone possible, but you have the smallest cone marked as 20%. What am I missing? When I set ESP too big and I am in close it seems that ESP pushes my nose out of the way. In addition, that "magnetic effect" always seems to push my nose toward a target(at distance), for example when landing and I am just cycling thru all the targets to see who they are. For this reason and more I set the degrees as low as possible which is exactly the opposite of your recommendation. Or better yet I just turn it off. If you have good accuracy ESP seems more a hindrance than a useful feature.
Great video. Thank you for sharing this. So if I got it correctly, we should always try to move our ship nose towards the pip simply put, right? And the best way to do it is to roll and pitch up...
I don't remember Elite Dangerous having such interesting dogfights, but I can't pinpoint exactly why... Even looking at other people dogfighting in Elite vs Star Citizen shows how superior Star Citizen is, does that have to do with Elites choice of allowing hardpoints to be able to autolock on someone? Or does it have to do with how fast you can manouver in an Elite Dangerous ship vs a Star Citizen ship?
I'm so confused... I just started playing in 3.24, and the ESP settings were buried deeper than a politicians soul and the only settings are Zone and Curve maxed at 1.0. I have no clue what this means rofl, halp
Hello A1! One question, I'm new to this and I'm not sure if this is covered in the future, but in this video and in many others of yours and other skilled people doing dog fighting I see that you guys aim -not always- outside of the romboid shape that turns green when you aim into it, and I thought the whole idea was to keep your aim on that romboid thing, why is this? Thank you for the video btw!
usually i mine, and its getting very "boring" currently i cant hit a single target...in about 6 months of SC i have never destroyed a single ship lol, hoping to change that
Hey Avenger, off topic question but i'm willing to improve my pvp skill, but i wonder : Is what you're teaching about positioning and everything achievable with mouse and keyboard or you think joysticks or dual sticks are mandatory ? Thx for the content !
Enhanced Stick Precision. It slows down your reticle as you approach the target pip. Like aim assist on a controller in any FPS. The degrees affect how large that zone is before it starts slowing down. So 20 deg gives you the smallest zone of slowing for better precision. If you went lower in the degrees it opens up the zone of slowing and causes ESP to kick in sooner, which may cause you to overcorrect to compensate for the slow down and miss your target. Hope that helps.
Thank you but I still don’t understand. Aim assist in GTA5 for example: I hold the „target“ button in the rough direction of my adversary and my aim is locked on him. In SC this somehow happens when in gimballed mode. But how does it work with non gimballed? I mean my ship doesn’t turn magically just because my target is in the general direction of my reticle. The only thing I notice (and which is quite annoying) is, that the pip gets smaller when the aim is right. This handicaps me more than it helps because the pip is jumping eratically from big to small and vice versa and then I start to overcompensate. Is this what ESP is doing?
@@djdavemaschke ESP doesn't lock your aim to the target. It slows down your cursor movement when you are on target so its easier to stay on target. GTA isn't aim assist, its basically an aim lock. Watch a video on call of duty aim assist and thats the ELI5 version of ESP in SC.
Your going into detail on flight mechanics that no one else does. Appreciate your content man. Keep it up!

Love the content! Your passion comes through and it’s almost hypnotic man! Love it! Thanks so much for putting time and effort into us!
Thanks so much, very well done. Thanks for what you do. I keep practicing for the 1% improvement.
been looking for a good breakdown of esp. Thx man! insightful vid as always!
huh! I didn't even know you could change ESP settings. I am going to try that out. Thanks.
I had no clue either! Looking it up tonight when I get on
I had no idea this was a thing either fml
I wonder if there is merit to configuring a two stage trigger to have stage one to turn ON ESP and OFF on release so it only kicks in when I intend to home in onto the target and not punish for prenose/disengage
i have exactly this set up and it works like a charm, VKB Gladiator EVOs
this is a very detailed video, thank you.
but I've never figured out what ESP stands for so i think this solution is going directly over my head.
it says it right in the settings? enhanced stick precision

I'm a bit confused between the image and your explanation. You say you use a 20% cone because its the biggest, the image shows 5% being the biggest. is it backwards or do I not understand the information correctly?
5% dampaning, that just shows the farther you get away from the target the gradually more you feel the magnetic and dampaning effect
Nice need to where to set it I remember I had turned it off in the past.
I’m very happy to have found this explanation. I learned something new from it. Thank you very much!
Nah. This wasn't dry. Man, this was a really well laid explanation for me. Looking forward to putting some of this into practice.
Best combat teacher in SC bar none!👍
Awwwwww… and here I thought it was the Force guiding my crosshair
Maxi bid the force
Another 1% to absorb thank you Avenger One
@Avenger__One at 9:00 are you strafing down as you pitch up on your target or are you pitching up and rolling to position the pip on target?
very h elpful video. thank you dear boy !
Love your dry videos....
Congratulations to Magic that’s awesome

lol When someone better than me at something says this is super important, I believe them. You know, if I want to get better.
Fantastic
legendary explanation. nice work
Thanks for this bro
I didn"t even know i could change that.. flying is going to feel so much better now for sure!

Man these videos alone are proof that SC needs proper in game flight school. I hope S42 teaches these things in game.

Wow! ThanQ Avenger... There are lots of settings I don't quite understand, is this the most important you reckon?
I wouldn't say that but when you add up all the little things it makes a massive difference. Muscle memory and precision are what give you laser aim
What exactly is meant by dampening? Like it slows down your guns from shooting? It’s lowers your guns power?

Since rolling is so important for ESP
Do you put it on the X or Z axis on a joystick?
So essentially, what you are saying is I do everything wrong, since I never use roll (using mouse and keyboard). I need to sort a hotas out.
Avenger_One why don't you just play with ESP turned off?
Teach me daddy. I saw you were in the discord the other day but I was to shy to jump in.
Tell fear to fuk off brother 😄 1% everyday
dude isn't Michael Jackson. he's a TH-camr
@@talkingmudcrab718 100% I'm just a dude, nothing special here just a guy trying to help
What control setup do you use? Hotas and pedals or?
I always played with ESP off because I didn'T understood it... but I felt like it was harder to pilot,... should I activate it?
usually i mine, and its getting very "boring" currently i cant hit a single target...in about 6 months of SC i have never destroyed a single ship lol, hoping to change that
im very new so forgive this question. but can you turn off esp?
how do you make the PIP color red?
Thanks !
Here’s a question. Hawk or warlock, and why
Warlock, better tracking tighter response, despite less HP she's a better shooting platform, it's to easy to get away from hawk
👍 👌
Hey A1 I'm curious what is your configuration with esp ?
Hey Avenger, off topic question but i'm willing to improve my pvp skill, but i wonder :

Most definitely

@@038alpha you can definitely improve with m+k, I've been watching his videos and trying to apply them with PvE initially then move onto PvP
@@D3LTA2 i ll try that ty 😊 arena commander here i come
@@038alpha it's pretty savage for a noob in there trust me 😅
Can you show joystick curves/sensitivity please?
Is E.S.P. a must to be competative?
Where are These settings? I just see esp on or off.
Ahhh ok. I found it under the game settings. And yeah its much better. Thank you so much. For your content and fast answers.
What about not using ESP? Are there any Pros to doing it this way? Nice Vid BTW.
When im flying an Ares Ion, my pip gets kinda crazy... does it have something to do with ESP?
No its because they nerfed it, there is no more fixed assist on the Ares. It needs to be reworked
As a new player to SC I've locked all my gimbals and turned esp off. I don't trust the computer to give me my solution, I rely only on myself.
You dont mention HOW to adjust damp and radius?
TY
How is wiggling an exploit? It’s part of the flight mechanics
Hello A1, how can I join your team?
Cheers o7
Can you also do an ELI5 on this? I don’t understand the concept of ESP, I think you skipped one or two levels of what ESP actually does

What I'm hearing is disable ESP.
I know your giving awesome information but i have no idea what your talking about -_-
i feel a little out of place here watching the same videos the big boys do lol
should not be better to remove it from the game ? to balance for all players aware or not aware about it the doght fight ?
This is not the best video to watch first hahahah. Ill be back
