I don't really have a favorite hero character to play. We've been working our way through the game thematically. One day, it's X-Factor, next heroes that are connected to Mojo. My favorite S2 villain so far is definitely Legion. It was such a different mechanic that made a cool experience. I think his hero version looks like nothing but trouble for the other players though.
for the minis with clear effects I'm just painting over them bc they don't really match the cell shaded chibi style the paint is the same reason why I'm trying (and failing lol) to replace all metals with nmm. So I'm not too worried about painting around the clear stuff but that's just my approach
