I am glad to find Marvel United on your channel. We have Spider Gedon and it really changed things up from the base game. I like the differences in X-Man version.
I just got this game to the table and after getting absolutely wiped by Sabertooth 3 times in a row I felt the need to see someone else playthrough in case I was getting rules wrong. Looks like I got it right and it made me feel better about myself watching you get wiped also. Some good strategy offered here by others that I am going to try to employ for my next go-thru. Even getting to where you can damage him can be brutal with him regenerating (assuming that card or ugh, cards are on the table).
Sabretooth is just tough. I've had some success with Wolverine on my team, but not much. Making people feel better about their gaming skills is one of the main services I provide on this channel, so I'm more than happy to help. :) Thanks so much for watching!
Played this last night with my friends, and we also got pwned by Sabertooth. We noticed it's a distinct disadvantage to pit 3 heroes against him, because you can only pass the hunted token three times (as opposed to four times with 2 or 4 players).
Great quality video. While watching I kept hoping you’d clear the threat at Xavier’s so you could fully heal at end of turn. It’s a great tactic against Sabertooth since heroes without healing cards/specials can benefit.
Yep, I was inexperienced when I did that playthrough and really didn't appreciate how to be effective against Sabretooth. I found him very different (still do!) Thanks for your nice comments Tony!

That’s been my experience with my only 3 attempts / games. 1 x sabertooth loss and 2 x mystique losses. One loss was so quick, only 6 storyline cards being played before losing senator kelly
Yeah, avoiding KO is key. I was able to have success with that using Wolverine (or ProfX, I can't remember right now) and even then barely took down Sabertooth.

I spent 30 min punching out the tokens, shuffling cards, all the set up and setup rules. My family was like *bored*. We started following the rules for play and IT DOEST EVENT TELL YOU WHAT THE OBJECTIVES ARE before starting the game. So do my move and I am not sure what the actions mean or why I would even want to do them. Its been like 45 min at this point and I say "You know what? Lets try this some other time." And I pack it all back in the box. If I had just watched some video before, we could have played tonight. Looks really simple once you understand what the symbols mean, and what the objectives are. I have Marvel Legendary and its clearly mostly that game with small changes. I think I like Legendary better. Not sure why people prefer this one.

@@TotallyTabled I had low expectations but it's quickly become one of my favourite solo/co-op board games. The villains definitely range from easy and family-friendly to difficult and strategic with no real indication of where each villain falls on that spectrum. I think Magneto or Mystique are cool and interesting introductory villains.
@@branboom3342 I agree. The more I play it, the more I like it. A bunch of stuff for it came in and I'm a bit overwhelmed by it all at the moment, but that advice is helpful. I will definitely try those villains in order to get back into the groove. Any heroes you recommend or are they fairly mix and match? Thanks!
@@TotallyTabled I think you can throw any heroes together and have a good time but some heroes have better movement/heroic/attack actions than others. That said, some of my favourite heroes are Phoenix, Nightcrawler, Archangel, Silver Surfer and Iceman
At abou 12 mins you passed the hunted hero token . But storm was KO after a bam and overflow effects occurred. If you read the special rules literally it means you shouldn't pass the hunted hero token in this case! Am I wrong?

Sabretooth is very tough, he is a violent beast. Better play against him with characters that régénérate, like Wolverine or Beast. And you did an only big mistake: you completed the first mission too early, and then Sabretooth became under pressure. That's why you lost so quickly.

He made a fundamental error. One should never complete the first mission until a second mission is almost complete. It gives the villain too many turns where he is playing after only two heroes play.

Save up 2 missions that have 1 left to complete. Then complete them as fast as possible. This will reduce the time a villain goes every 2 turns vs 3.

I have only played original game but shouldn't you keep unused tokens instead of throwing them away? ( around 4:50 )

yes, i was also confused why Jean Grey who was KO'ed already made her turn 🤔🤔🤔
