I'm 4 weeks post-surgery and have just discovered your excellent channel. Thank you, there is so much helpful information and the exercises go beyond the first-week post-op.

Exactly what I need! Four months post op and behind the knee is the one area that still bothers me! Thx very much!

I’ve had ORIF surgery for a fractured left patella after I fell and hit my knee. I had to have a second surgery three months later to remove some of the hardware as a screw had walked back and was protruding under the skin. It’s been 4 months since the second surgery and the incision has healed and I’ve been doing PT ever since. Now my problem is the stiffness on the front of my knee all the time whether I’m lying in bed, sitting or walking. It’s so uncomfortable. What can I do to make this stiffness go away?

I’m sorry to hear about your knee stiffness. Keep up with physical therapy and let your therapist know about the discomfort; they might adjust your exercises. Gentle stretching and strengthening exercises can help with flexibility and support. You might also benefit from heat and cold therapy, as well as elevating and compressing your leg to manage swelling. If the stiffness persists or worsens, consult your doctor for further advice. I hope you find some relief soon!
