For me, I want to the close up so I can actually see the foundation on the skin almost as close to what I would see on my own skin; this is how I choose foundations on myself so it's immensely helpful when I watch your reviews (because they're so thorough) AND see the texture of the foundation. I'm an American but live ~10 mo's in South Africa so when I come home to CA I have a very little time to shop for foundations and makeup, and it's the only time I buy makeup. This is why your reviews are so important to me. :)
This is my go to foundation for days where I am going to post-work yoga, massage, chiropractor appointments, etc. If there is any chance that your face is going to be rubbing against your clothing or anything else, this stuff does not budge and, as you said, is about as transfer resistant as they come. For long workdays, it is perfect. The shade match for me is not quite as good as some others, but the bulletproof nature of the formula means I will work around that.
My skin is on the dryer side. I use the Smashbox Hydrating primer with this foundation. I lightly set it with Laura Mercier setting powder and it performs pretty well. I'm a nose scratcher and an eye glass wearer and it never wears off on me. I've worn it for 12 hours in extreme heat and I looked the same at the end of the day as I did when I started out. It always photographs like a dream. I just have to make sure I moisturize well, use a hydrating primer, and I like to mist with a dewy setting spray as well.
This was the first actual foundation I bought about 10 years ago. I was experiencing hot flashes that would leave my face & neck wet & shiny. This foundation really worked during that time as far as longevity & non transferability. Unfortunately, either my skin changed or they changed the formula but I can't get it to look good on my now dry, dehydrated skin. But I recommend it to anyone who has issues with an oily or sweaty face, especially if you live in a humid climate. Try a sample of it to see if it would work for you. I loved that it was 100% fragrance free & didn't pull overly cool or warm in undertone.
I just started your video but I just have to tell you that this is a really good foundation I really liked it even on my oily skin! I recently purchased the Chanel Ultra flawless Le Teinte Tenue, sorry if it's spelled wrong but holy cow did I jump the gun because I ordered it and when I got it I just swatched it on my hand and realized that it was too light for me, so I immediately ordered a shade darker without even trying it first! Huge mistake! This is by far the worst Foundation I have put on my face even worse than the Fenty Beauty Foundation that I despise and now I got another one coming to my door today and these were $60 each! I am so mad at myself right now! I guess I figured that because the Chanel Perfection Lumiere velvet is my Holy Grail that I would love this one too and I watched Risa do her demo and she loved it better but there goes to show that everybody's skin is different! It just turns my stomach I hope they will let me return it or even give me store credit so I can purchase my Holy Grail! I can't wait to see if you like this Smashbox foundation!
Great road test. My skin is dry and I agree, it’s not great for dry skin. On a good day it’s beautiful. But I find on me it is very temperamental. Do anything new in the equation and it balls up, looks cakey. For that reason o will not be repurchasing.🙁 God bless 🌸🌸🌸

Great video, i always appreciate your descriptions and comparisons. This is one of the only matte full coverage that i van wear with dry skin. I have to wear a hydrating primer, sometimes mix in a tiny bit of a hydrating foundation, and no powder. I find this foundation runs light rather than dark. It dries on me lighter than it looks in the bottle. I really appreciate your list of foundation shades too :)
I'm glad the foundation shade list helps you! I hate that I had to move it but it was growing too long for TH-cam! LOL! It's funny you say you mix it sometimes. I mixed it with a few more luminous/less matte foundations this week as well and loved the result too! Thanks so much!

Love your videos, in my late 30's and boy I be looking a mess trying to do foundations and concealers with my skin, I have oily skin. So far Milani and wet n wild has worked. I did buy urban decay naked and 2 sephora brands but not crazy about them. And I bought so many primers its ridiculous. I am new to the concealer, blush, toners, and highlighers, go figure at my age LOL. thx for sharing xoxo
I've watched it to the end and four people I know have watched to the end. No issues on any of our ends! Sometimes TH-cam is glitchy and puts random parts of the video places when you're watching. When that's happened to me when I've watched videos, I either refresh my browser or open up the video in a new browser. TH-cam is glitchy quite often! :)
I think I’m going to have to try this, if I can find my shade online. I am a bit lighter than you, but the same undertones. Ulta still has the 20%off as of today, so I will throw one in my cart. On a side note, I have been diagnosed with rosacea, and I know that you use the finacea for it. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
I love finacea. It's worked beautifully for me for years. If you can get a prescription for it I'd try it. I like that it sinks in and doesn't feel heavy. My mom uses Metrocream (or gel?) and she likes it for her more dry skin. But it didn't work as well for me and felt a bit heavier on my skin. I hope you like the foundation! I mix it with more luminizing foundations and like it that way too!
Atually my derm prescribed the finacea for day and the metroream for night at the moment. He also prescribed some antibiotics since I have the pastule(?) kind and it had gotten bad because I thought it was regular acne or a food allergy. Never had to deal with this before so its going to be a challenge.....

I might try this with glam glow underneath but I am trying out the Laura Mercier Luminere foundation and so far I am loving it for my dry skin. Going to try Chanel next just to have more than one option after using Estée Lauder Perfection mixed with Tarte Hybrid foundation. Tarte doesn't have my color.You and I have more similarities..... I also have that same color of pink shower puff AND same color of blue puff in our shower. That way there is no confusing who's puff it is.
I have this foundation too and I don‘t like it.It looks dry on me and settle in my wrinkles.I have dry skin and I have much better foundation then this.😱😱😱

I figured that would be the case with dry skin. That's why I said it would probably be drying on dry skinned people since it felt drying on me some days. 😉 Thanks for weighing in on it for the dry skinned ladies!
Palladio 1500 right?? I also use this foundation to mix with others that look great on the skin but may not last as long on my oily skin. Works so well!!
Foundation looks great on you but the eye shadow and lip stick were too dark and made you look like a drag queen. Softer eye shadow and lighter lipsticks make you look like a beautiful princess!

I think it's just not the best for dry skin. But for oily/combo skin, I think it's great!

jay hulrs I wore this today & I noticed that it dries lighter, which is usually the opposite of what I experience with foundations.

I don't think so. You may just not have liked it. Different skins like different foundations. :)
I’m not sure if it was reformulated, but they definitely added more shades to their line

Ruth L This is one of the few foundations that doesnt look like a mask and still lasts through the hot,humid summer weather even without powdering.
