Hi William, It's the sort of place that deserves rescuing. It gained my affection in a very short space of time.
      Regards,
      Mike

I lived in Peterborough about 30 years ago in my mid twenties. A great town and you're right it does deserve saving so much history of this place that most south australians don't know

Many features in this state could do with some inspired development . Not sure our political system can provide it.

    Hi Michael
Just came across ur film about Peterborough. Really well done, very interesting. I was born there in 1959. My father was in the railways from when he left school till his retirement. I hadnt been back until a few years ago. The thing i noticed was how 'clear & clean' the air was & how quiet it was...pity its so outa the way
    Thanks for ur story :)

In the 1990's, there was a sheep sale at Peterborough.........next morning the live stock carrier came to pick them up, and the sheep were dead...........from a severe snap frost.

Nasty image. I guess we're going to get used to more extremes in the future.

I left Peterborough in 1989. It was a ghost town then. Most of the shops had closed down, and there were nobody around.

You might be interested to know that Mary Zimmermann, from the Print Shop, it was her late husband Eldon who was the brilliant artisan who made the model of the railway station. Great video, just a minor point , it is Waukeringa, pron Warkaringa and the old hotel was owned by the mother of Hawker's late & great identity Fred Teague ..she was in fact the last licensee

      Thanks Robert,
I was in the hands of my companion's background knowledge. One day, I'll go back and make another video. You know, I've been so surprised by the interest in this video. It's an indication of the significance of the area to so many South Australians.
      Regards,
      Mike
