Hi Brian your videos are great to watch, I am in London UK and have just purchased a Honda Civic Saloon Polished Metal EX version with a CVT.I had a Accord but due to ULEZ I had to change,My question will be I want to keep this car as long as possible ie 15 to 20 years, what advice would you give to keep it well maintained and also advice on the CVT to keep it almost for ever Thanks

I’ve tested this car with CVT gearbox, great looking car but it is incredibly slow from 0 to 60 km/h. When moving off, the engine makes a lot of noises, it sounds like a motorcycle or a Peugeot 206. Car feels very lazy, After 60 km/h it gets more quitter and runs smoother. I wanted to ask if this is something typically for automatic gears in general or Honda just made it this way. In my opinion, they had never to bring the 1.0 version. It’s too weak for such a car this weight and sporty look.
CVT Will take a couple of moments to react from 0 km/h and a turbo charged engine also needs a couple of moments to spool up the turbo so if you compare it to a manual car with no turbo, the 0 to 60 km/h time will feel slower on something like this
@@doolanbrian also for the turbo (I have the 1.5 turbo ext coupe) please let the car get hot before driving….it helps with a better take off and it’s better for cvt
Although our side markers are amber :( We don't get half the options you guys do. We also only get the 1.5t or the 2.0na . Certainly no full glass roof. Just a basic sunroof option. No auto dip head lights. No adjustable head rests. No parking sensors. No start stop. Bunch of other things. Especially on the later models like 2020 2021

I am 100% sure 🙂👍 The VTEC TURBO engine series were introduced in 2013 as part of the Earth Dreams Technology range and include new features such as gasoline direct injection, turbochargers, Dual Cam VTC and VTEC on the exhaust profile instead of the intake, marking the end of the 'traditional sound' of VTEC in this engine. VTEC implementation on the exhaust rocker arms causes the turbo to be spooled quicker, eliminating turbo lag. VTEC Turbo engines come in three displacement capacities: a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder, a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder, and a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder.
@@DVDPlus trust me it feels like a 1.8L, this car has a strong punchy 1L VTEC Turbo engine, and it makes a nice thum whenever you accelerate. Its got performance :)

Gearbox is generally okay on those as long as the oil changes are regular 🙂👍

That’s okay, two or three days won’t really have any effect so I think it sounds like you are okay, it will just say 2 to 3 days overdue

Ok once you get into the car .. foot on brake and press start .. it should start immediately? Is it not starting ?

We also didn't get blind spot monitoring. Or auto fold side mirrors. We got kinda screwed on what we got here in the US honestly.
