  • Another Quick Tips - Pro Results video to show how to make some quick and easy FOD covers for your jet models.
    As is often the case when building some out of the box jet models, the intakes really suffer. You can hide hard to sand seams or missing compressor detail with just these simple FOD covers. You can even spruce them up with extra detail include remove before flight tags, squadron emblems, attachment straps, etc.

    Excellent tips 👌 thanks for sharing. I'll definitely try this with my F-35B if I ever finish it.

    Can’t believe I missed this! Your EA-6A build inspired a A-6E build and I definitely could have used this technique. I’ll have to revisit

    Awesome tip. Thanks for sharing. Missed it as I was down with COVID 2 weeks ago. Now that I am trying to gather up my strength to start building again, I think I'll put this trick to use.

    Great idea, would not have thought of the glue down. Like you said it's a lot better than looking down the intake, or trying to modify that. Remove Before Flight tags would be interesting too. Anxious to see build out, looks like you have a great start.

      Thanks! Simple technique that can be built upon for even more detail and realism. I'll try to add some RBF tags for the completed build. Cheers!

      Thanks. Hope you find it useful. Does have limitations given the size of teflon tape available, I guess.

    I already posted this on your Facebook page, but I was actually doing a google search this morning on making FOD covers for my F-16I Israeli SUFA. Thanks for sharing this awesome technique! Note: I’m hoping one day you’ll be able to squeeze in a video build of a modern U.S. fighter jet!

    • @FlyingSModels
      @FlyingSModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad that it may help, Johan. Maye take some larger piece of teflon, depending on the scale of your SUFA. And I should have the video build of the little F-18 up in the not so distant future....at least that's the hope and plan.

    A heads up. It appears Hobby Lobby is 40% off today-5/4/21. I bought an A-10 1/72 Academy kit for $10.79. Engraved panel lines, 233mm length (about 9"), so not too small. I figured what do I have to loose, might be fun.

      Thanks, Doug. I thought they did away with that coupon. I'll need to go stock up :). Enjoy that A-10!!

    That’s wonderful- but what about larger scales? That tape is not wide enough for 1/32 scale intakes...

    • @FlyingSModels
      @FlyingSModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, the teflon tape is narrow and I'm still looking around for wider options. There are always other materials like foil, tamiya tape, etc. that could be used in pretty much the same way.

      Good question. I put this one on the back burner after I made this demo. Guess I need to give it CPR and bring it back to life. Thanks for the push.

    Is it about the same with Russian aircrafts? I have an SU-27 with poor intake details, apart from that it is a real badass good-looking aircraft 😎

    • @FlyingSModels
      @FlyingSModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it would work well for any "soft" FOD cover that wraps around the outside of the intake. You can add some straps to make it even more interesting. The Su-27 is indeed a great looking aircraft!

    Interesting, but once i did it from the aluminum foil and i thinking it's easy than your way

    • @FlyingSModels
      @FlyingSModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. There are many different ways to produce the same result. Foil and tape would both work as well. Just showing an alternate approach to those.
