Kuhn Hay Mower Blade Sharpening Trick

How to sharpen hay mower blades on the Kuhn GMD hay cutter. This method should work for just about any cutter out there.

I touch up blades in the same way. I can't believe you take the time to clamp each blade. I just hold the blade with one hand and the grinder with the other and go to town. The key is to keep a square edge on the tip of the blade. Once that becomes rounded it does not cut as well and need to be changed or flipped.

It really doesn’t take but a second to clamp it, and keeps my fingers out of the way of the grinder lol. My experience has been that my touched up edge usually doesn’t last as long as the factory edge. Good info on keeping the tip squared off. I’ll have to keep that in mind next time. Thanks!
