    Your earlier video with the yellow 250 SX bike, helped me decide to buy one myself and I am loving it. I have just done 4,000 kms in 4 months and it goes really well. Thanks for doing the review.

      glad it was helpful. i thought the first one was that good-well apart from me dropping it i always knew id come back and try again.
      just a great little bike well put togther and runs well too.

      thanks. always good to get a positive remark and greatly apprecoated too.
      i always like to tell it straight because if some-one is buying a bike on finance and hoping its the dream bike its best i give a good honest review.
      that bit aside-this is a very good bike for the price. not perfect but again not a perfect price.
      all the best!

    Thanks for the review. I’m the owner of a gb350. Let my son a CB125 for 12 months until he is off P’s. Looked at a 250 for him, after your review shall get him to look at the Suzuki.
    Many thanks

      Good choice! that way you both can enjoy the experience. i think its a pretty good value bike and in your sons case he could use it around town and ride the dirt too.
      so i think your steering him in the right direction and seeing your looking at it for your son -if i could find real faults i'd tell you.
      but unfortunately its just a very good ride and value for money bike...lol so to me its well worth buying.
      in my case all i need is the protective gear to keep it in good order.thats my next plan

    Hi Warro. We get used to what we have in everyday life, and often forget that other people don't see what it's like traveling on our roads. Great job at being an ambassador for our corner of the world.

      @ridewithwarro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no shortage of roads to travel thats for sure. best of all not many on them. in this case or todays ride i think i only passed a couple of cars and surprisingly -none at all at ophir.
      a big surprise there.

      lucky you on the orange side. i actually ordered that colour and got a yellow. i now have this black one. just recently fitted knobby tyres and sump guard so sort of getting ready to ride a bit of dirt.
      i still think this vstrom is the best value bike out there and you made a great choice.

    Gday Warro, these little Suzuki 250 singles are fantastic. I test rode the gixxer 250 the other week and was blown away at how effortlessly this thing revs! I had a crf250 rally and the engine was no where as comfortable as the Suzuki 250 engine at 100klm’s an hour. It’s like Suzuki are using black magic to make it so smooth👌🏼. As you said, great value for money.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      i thought about that gixxer myself and decided try another 250 sx and settle with the honda gb350 for something different.
      i think if i was chasing just one reliable road bike that gixxer for $6500 is a very hard deal to miss.
      plus your right too. these 250 motors perform better than the 350's

    I have been a long time watcher, and really enjoy watching your videos, particularly the ones on the Enfields and the GB350. The quality of content is only getting better.
    I know it hasn't been your style and there are reasons you don't like doing it, but I would enjoy seeing you test ride and hearing your thoughts on some of the other Enfields, particularly the Guerrilla and the 650 range. I haven't got a bike yet but love modern classics and the Royal Enfield range.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      even if i could the nearest dealer is 500 klm round trip so that ruins that. i think any of the 650 twins would be good bikes going on my experience owning 2 x 650 interceptors.
      that is a real good motor and super smooth so i think whatever frame it landed it the ride experience would be nice

    Totally agree with your review Warro. I've had the yellow one for a few months. Absolutely love it. Take mine off road all the time although I just got the new Triumph scrambler 400x and that's getting a lot of attention now. Mainly because the power increase. But yeh the Vstrom is a great little machine

    • @peterbowley6484
      @peterbowley6484 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@suhail9000839000 the vstrom I think is a tad more comfortable for those long rides but the Triumph really shines when you are after more grunt.
      From about 3k revs it'll pull in any gear and pulls fairly hard from about 5k revs.
      At this point in time I could not part with either one.

    • @peterbowley6484
      @peterbowley6484 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@suhail9000839000 the vstrom is a fantastic little motor cycle for a 250. It does highway speeds just fine but the Triumph wins hands down as far as pick up goes. They are both very agile but even though the Triumph is a few kilo heavier you really don't notice it. I think because it's centre of gravity may be a poofteeth lower.

    This was your best ever video Warro, so many valid and relevant observations on bikes in general, especially where us old guys are concerned. Mind you a lot of these young whippersnappers should pay heed, just remember the story of the hare and the tortoise. Hang loose buddy.

      i think it would run an easy 110 kph with no issues and it appears to run 90/100 kph with ease.
      im thinking more back road track rides here which would be equal to sort of logging trails so i think it will do that task.

  • @ultimateiphonedng8756
    @ultimateiphonedng8756 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree Warro, looks like best value going. These make a lot of sense, I have several road bikes, including a Goldwing, often I feel it would be great to have something light and nimble I could tackle tracks and dirt roads on, but heck I wouldn’t want to spend up big for a large and heavy ADV.
    This Suzuki can be bought cheap, new or second hand, used without worrying too much about trashing it and then on-sold if you wish for very little loss. I’d say just the right amount of power and speed for that purpose. What’s not to love about it.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      have to agree there. say purchased for $6500 and in two years time id say it would still pull $4500 to $5000 and one could have lots of fun for a mere $1500
      you should give it some thought as i feel after riding 20 hp bikes lately jumping to 26 hp certainly makes a difference.
      dont really require any more than that so all good there.
      all the best!

    • @ultimateiphonedng8756
      @ultimateiphonedng8756 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, with the constant move towards bigger and heavier bikes many riders have lost touch with how capable and fun a good 250 can be. One of my stable is a vintage rego Honda Spada VT250, it’s an amazing ride and easily sticks with the other club riders on big capacity machines on any public road. Of all my bikes it is the one I most enjoy riding, so I have no qualms about the SX.

      runs pretty well really. that was a pretty bad lose gravel road i ran on to do this clip. did it well but i dont ride fast say 60 kph and other may think different.
      more importantly i like to get back home in one piece..lol
      i think the black really pops too and its pretty well put together, equal i think to that JAP GB350 so thats a plus.
      on par with the enfield too so although a cheap bike in price not so in the assembly side.

    People think this bike is much more road biased than it really is. Due to the light weight and quick power delivery it can do a lot of offroading you wouldn't even think about on say a GS or an africa twin. It's the perfect bike for riding to trails. No problem at all cruising at 110 (or 130). It really only starts losing steam at around 140-150kph which is license losing territory anyway. It can really fly along on the trails too. On dirt/gravel I feel pretty comfortable at 100. It's not an enduro but theres also no need to just crawl around more technical sections like most ADV riders either.

    Hey Warro, I love your reviews. They’re really informative. I’m about to buy a new bike in the 350cc and under range. What bikes do you reckon in the Honda, Yamaha & Suzuki range could suit me? I live in the city, will be commuting to work, and want to do some semi-long, open-road, fun rides. Doesn’t need to fly, but it does need to do 100kph smoothly and I want to know my bike is trustworthy and reliable. I’m female, 155cm tall and 48kg so I don’t want a heavy-ass bike! Or seat height too high! I’ll be going to a dealership to test ride, but would like to be armed with some knowledge. ( I grew up riding old Hondas & Yamahas). 🙂

      hondas new gb350 whick i also own is a good runner too but bit higher in price at $8000
      yamaha 300 cc road bike has heaps of power but i didnt go much on the lean over ride angle and bar vibes

    Hi Warro. I've been trying to find out how the valves are adjusted on this bike. According to one source, this bike uses "shim-type roller rocker arms" and is based on "MotoGP technology". But I'll be honest, I don't know what "shim-type roller rocker arms" means. I guess it's too early to ask if you've actually seen what's under Suzi's lid? I also can't imaging the owner's manual would address this subject. Trouble is, as another forum user mentioned, over the long term, shim adjustments services (the ones that require camshaft removal) can end up costing half (or more) the original cost of buying the bike.
    Cheers.

    • @aussief5016
      @aussief5016 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The owners manual doesn't really say much about it. It says to inspect valve clearances every service...but that's surely with a wink and a nudge I doubt anyone actually does it every single time(my car says the same an the dealership performs an "audible inspection") ;). I believe the adjustment is just the same as any other shim valve and the reason they mention it is allot of the indian bikes are screw type as was the old twin 250 vstrom.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i have not looked into that side of it but i think it would be quite some time before a service like that would be done.
      either way its only a single so i wouldnt expect the checking would be all that expensive.
      could be wrong too most of the bikes ive had are just normal type tappet adjustments.
      i will have to check out my owners manual and see if it includes any info which may be useful.
      then again there are a few here who have clocked a few klm on one so they may chime in on this side.
      either way i thought it over and one would expect a check like this may not come around till at lest 10,000 klm and if so thats a very long run for me -especially with 5 new bikes so i'd be doing a rotation for sure

    Hi Warro, great video again! I think I’m pretty set on the Vstrom (currently $6790) however, I’ve also been interested in a 2022/2023 KTM Duke 390 for some time, which now sells for about the same price ( clear out sale). I know you’ve had one a few years ago and understand they are both completely different bikes, but for road riding and occasional dirt roads which one would you recommend for around the $7k mark? They both seem great value for money, but the KTM seems to have a bit more power and features? Cheers

    • @ridewithwarro

      well the duke 390 will leave most small bikes for dead on the sealed stuff and handle well too. you know also i had the hunter 350 which handles better than the classic 350
      but the duke 390 would bowl over all these with no effort whatsoever.
      i sold mine for these reasons one i had to lean over too far to ride it so hard on my back plus i'd watch clips where the electronic where issues and expensive to repair -so on that alone i thought id get out while i could. when i had mine they were having display issues which was about $800 to replace out of warranty.
      never roade it on dirt.
      if i had the choice of either i'd go the vstrom. sure its no-where near as exciting but i bet you can near take it anywhere and more importantly get back home...lol
      so if your very close to the dealer you could try the ktm and if not go vstrom
      it was for a sumilar reason i pulled the plug on the triumph x400. the word was out it was cutting out around town rides. that was no good to me -450 klm from dealer so i went vstron 250

    Between the Orangy red, the Black, or the Yellow, if you are worried about people who don't even look for other cars or even trucks not seeing you. then The Yellow is a good option, The Dealer I went into had all 3 but the Yellow one had the lower seat fitted, but I think the Suzuki yellow is quite nice either way, we don't really have a supply issue in NZ, every Dealer has them on the showroom floor.
    But the issue I have, I want to pay cash and not have to pay extra for finance, The V-Strom is a couple of months away to be able to do that, but the GSX250RL I could do today if I wanted to, and the problem with that, Is I am 6'2" and my legs are too long for the Gixxer, my knees get caught under the wings on the tank when I try to move my toes around the brake and Gear Lever. Which is why I am leaning towards the V-Strom.

    I was a bit slow in getting to your last video, Warro; by the time I got there you'd taken it down! 😃 I reckon you'll get on just fine with the new Suzuki; the last one was understandably tainted for you when it dropped.
    Two of life's truths are, firstly, that speedo's are always optimistic and, secondly, manufacturers always fit speedo dials that show a higher potential top speed than will ever be attained. It's marketing bulldust, trying to convince the gullible that the machine is faster than it actually is.

      no drama there. yeah that ground trip didnt help much but first time for everything. bit better prepared now. later on i will add protection bars and carry racks.
      bike looks much bigger than one would expect for 250cc too

    I agree most Adv bikes are to heavy you can load up a smaller bike & get out & about.
    The new Himmy 450 be a awesome true off roader with that 21" front wheel & the Triumph X400 Scrambler be great for gravel roads but not as hard out as the Himmy but only 170kg & Indian version is 179kg cause of their rough roads NZ 🇳🇿 should get the 179kg beefed up one with our crappy roads.

    W A Z Z A. You need a bashed and crashed bike. With lots of battle scars and stories. Its just a bit of patina

    Hi Warro, I was about to buy a brand new V-Strom 250SX from a dealer in Brisbane when I discovered what looks like a thin yellowish to rust-coloured edge around most of the welds in the lower parts of the bike and the steering column (see this Short: th-cam.com/users/shortsuUv2dbaQFJo?si=qO47gjuFQSQbwYWT). I did inspect 3 different bikes of this model and all showed the exact same issue.
    This got me worried and I decided to wait with the purchase and instead try to find out what this is by posting about the issue on Facebook rider forums. I got a lot of contradictory responses ranging from 'welding issues' and 'poor paint job' to 'nothing to worry about'. How is your bike in this regard? Do you have the same issue and do you know its cause? If this is not corrosion in itself, could it make the bike prone to rusting?
    Thanks, mate 🙂

      well i checked mine out and it arrived in the latest 2024 shipment so was not floor stocked. plus had to wait a while for it to arrive.
      i looked over mine and its fine.
      now what you think is rust may well be some sort of bronze welding prior to the paint being slapped over it. i dont know but it could be just that
      afterall the old cars had lead over the joining/laps especially in the boot side rain channels.
      would i be concerned if it was mine. NO the friggin bike only cost $6500 not $65,000...lol
      its a good bike if not i would not have re-bought one again.
      just order the full crash bar protection for mine too. id be more worried about breaking something on the bike like first time than those marks which i still think are braizing type
      plus they come with a 3 year warranty too
      so if it was mine ...i couldn't care less as its a very good bike and there is no other out there as good for the money
      now lets say i saw the exact patches on mine like in your clip. id went to the shed and applied the rust converter i used when re-spraying cars. if it still was same colour its in the weld if it turned black...it would be rust. then i would give it a quick rattle can gloss black.
      pity i dont have it or i'd tried that for sure.
      there may be this issue too. all yellows made on one line and all blacks on another.
      i had this issue with enfield 500's
      when i bought the black painted motors thosr bikes were not as well put together as the silver motor. then again all of them were near failures
      believe me if you spent $9500 on an enfield new -front springs in the wrong way/vibes in the bars and footpegs so bad you rode with feet off the pegs......then you'd have some concern...lol

    Thanks for getting out There with the VStrom. Must admit I like the rider perspective videos like this one. Glad you can talk; otherwise you might need to put on some elevator music to fill in.😂👍
