It's a perfect all-rounder. Good road, bad road, sad roads, no-roads, the thing simply shines. With a genuine top whack of 145+ GPS and speedo indicated 155 and that brilliant oil cooled motor that is extremely happy at triple digits all day long. As you've rightly put, 120 and 130 and that motor sings all the way, all day.
When people will understand that fun is not conditioned by engine capacity, they will enjoy motorcycles with small engines more. The V-Strom 250 is a super cool 🏍 that puts a smile on your face, and most importantly, brings you home every time 😉 Best regards from Romania !🤘
I rode a 23 250vstrom on a ten thousand km trip across Australia and back Two weeks on the road with a week relaxing in between I gave it plenty and it didn't miss a beat It handles well and does keep up with bigger machines on the windy roads I've put 17500 km on it in 3 months since I brought it I've had it up to 150 but I suspect the accurate speed is 140 It's not a Motorcross bike It's comfortable You won't take a Motorcross bike 10000 km in two weeks without destroying your ass and being semi crippled The motor wants to rev and loves it as do I My recommendation put bar risers on it and buy it How could you not
Great input. I’m sure no one else can give it better or more thorough kudos than yourself. I’m also in Australia and I have been very intrigued by this bike. May I ask aside from the bar raises was there any thing that stood out that wasn’t good about it? How the vibration above 110km/h?
I wish it was a 300 with slightly longer suspension. Suzuki made this a 250 because of tax penalties for bikes above 250cc in many Asian countries. A bigger engine would make cruising at 120 kph much more relaxed and have extra torque for riding two-up or loading up luggage for a longer trip. The bike needs bar raisers, it's cramped for taller riders and difficult to ride standing. But still great value from Suzuki👍.
Hi. I have owned one of these for three months and done 3,500kms. It does the speed limit here in Australia and sits on the 100kph for hours and did 450kms in a day. Off road is only for dirt roads so suspension travel has been fine. I must totally agree with you about handlebar height and being really difficult to stand up. I am 66 years old and really love this bike.
My brother and I did a 300km trip on two of these while my farher rode a Tenere 700 and of course we couldnt expect to keep up we had an extremely fun ride and still tested the bikes and ourseleves quite hard
I am going to look into this bike, thank you Donovan and team. I'm in the market for a tw200 currently although at this price new, and a 1990s TW's price. it's a No-Brainer..
Agree with the age thing. For cars, an 18 yr old could legally pass his driver's license on their 18th birthday and the same day, take a Bugatti Veyron out on the motorway.... Yet for bikes, limits are purely based on engine size - so a 150cc or 250cc with LESS power than a 2-stroke 125cc is illegal. it doesn't make sense. My other half is now starting to ride bikes and she is 40, but limited to a 125cc for 2 years here in Europe. Then she'll have to have more'lessons' and also retake her license test all over again on a 250cc- 500cc, in some cases they only offer slightly more power vs weight.... It's utterly crazy, and VERY expensive!
I have a GS 310. Brilliant bike but thirsty. Looking to swop for V Strom 250. Fuel efficiency makes a big difference and BMW services are expensive. Just get the Suzuki!
Like I said in my insignificant comment last week. For the price I would rather take the Suzuki than the Hero you tested last week. What l like about the Hero is the large screen and the fuel consumption wich you don't mention here . 🆒😎👍!
No interest in the bike, but I like this lad's reviews. The bike looks good, though, especially from the front. My featherlight DR250SH put out 29 bhp. That was in 1991 in Tokyo. You can imagine how quick it was across the city. Nick
In the Philippines the Versys 300 is P40,000 more ($750 USD) and has a lovely liquid cooled parallel twin with 40 hp, but is 17 Kg heavier. Front and rear 17" wheels. My opinion is that if you are mostly on pavement and/or 2 up the Versys is better. If you are more on dirt and/or one up then the V strom is better. Both are awesome bikes and here about 98% of the bikes are 110 to 160 cc so a 250/300 is very rare and aspirational. I have a Honda XRM 125 which I love and I am looking at a Yamaha Sniper 155 with ABS which is about 2/3 the price of the V strom.
I love you channel and all its content but can you please stop the awful tinkly background music It brings absolutely nothing to the reviews whatsoever and annoying enough to make me turn off. Please carry on doing what you do best but without the distracting Din! Keep up the brilliant work.
Exhaust not endurance enough... So many bits to fix if got into accident. Daily driver for work and munchies, Alright. 😂 EU has restriction for young license holder that usually limits to 10hp 125cc iirc. This bike has basically double. My country, upto 250cc no hp restriction. Learners license can use unlimited cc powerrr. 😅
this may be cheap to someone but to me, it costs at least 3 years worth of salary. so I'll just be dreaming

Thank for the amazing review. Upgraded from 155 gixxer to this last week that too on a great bargains. $2,700 USD On road. 🍻
USD$4331 on road in Australia. But we are used to inflated prices for everything that gets imported. And real estate especially 🤣🙃
Have fun & safe rides with your new bike ! ;)

I own this, I love the intake roar after 6000 rpms
If you drop the tyre pressure down to 1.2 bar the off road ride comfort improves by 50%

Those Yamaha TZRs were LEGENDARY...😂😂😂
This bike makes much more sense than their last attempt at a 250 V-Strom, which was a water cooled twin cylinder with a very heavy weight for a 250.

I'm 66 and looking for a motorcycle for touring Europe after my retirement. This looks great. Thank you. My grandchildren prefers Royal Enfields 😆
this bike is defenitely better because its lighter. Royal enfields are heavier.

Approx £2,500 🇬🇧
They give very poor service & don’t care about their customers once you bought it
Fortunately for the V-Strom 250, you don't need service 😅
You can do most of the maintenance work yourself.
