    Enjoyed watching this install by Nathan. Here is a guy who knows what he is doing. Makes sure everything is clean and looks OEM as he goes. It is so hard to find installers like that these days. That really pay attention to detail. Great job Nathan! Sure owner of that nice CLA45 AMG is a happy camper.

    Thanks for this video, made the task of installing in our A45 super easy!
    Since installing our radio now turns off when we start the car, have to manually turn it back on once starting. Would this likely be solved by using a different circuit for the add a fuse or is it something else?

    I fitted a DR900x to my CLA45 Shooting Brake. I used the rubber tube that the OEM wiring uses to get the cable into the boot lid, annoying that the rear camera cable is a straight connection rather than a 90 degree elbow. Only issue I had was the fuse cover wouldn’t close with the fuse taps in place, I had to cut a couple of small tabs out the side of the fuse cover so it could close over the wire coming out of the taps. Other than that, a nice clean install so thanks for making the vid.

    Hi Nathan,
    Thanks for this great tutorial which is very precise and clearly demonstrated. I have a Mercedes GLA (2015] and want to follow your demo to install a Viofo A129 Pro Duo. Looking at the fuse layout for the CLA in your demo, it looks to be the same as in my GLA, are you able to advise if my thoughts on this are correct?
    Many thanks,

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      L How Hey mate! Thank you for the feedback. Yes you are correct, the fuse box layout will be pretty much the same. Provided that it is the same style of fuse box in the same location.
      If you’re unsure you can always use one of the empty fuse slots (just has 12v on one side) just use the demonstration here to work out what side the power comes from and then make sure your camera power is on the opposite side of the fuse you insert. Hope that makes sense.
      You can follow this demonstration though and you’ll have no problems in your GLA :)

    Hello Nathan, After watching your video I was inspire to get the Blackvue dash cam and install it myself for my 2016 W212 E400 Sedan. Thanks to your excellent video routing the cables and mounting the cameras will be an easy task. The part I’m a little concern is obtaining power for the cameras. Although, you explained how you did it for the CLA45 AMG not sure how it would be for my E400. Any tech advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe A Hi mate! Good choice on camera. The fuse box for your vehicle is in the boot area (drivers side I believe) for a right hand drive car. When you open the boot on the panel where the quarter panel is a small cutout should be there for you to open. If you open it and look around you should see fuses.
      This means you’ll put the power magic pro in this area and run the other two power wires (for the dash cam) to the front of the car. You will need to extend these two wires. Let me know if that all makes sense!

    Thanks for this video. I watched it a couple of times, preparing for my install of a Viofo A129 Plus Duo on a W176 A Class. I don't have the snake, so I'm going to try to guide the cable through the door rubbers. I was wondering, on the A class, when I open the hatchback, would it be possible to slide a snake (if I find one) from the rear of the car to the front, instead of how you did it from the front to the rear (seems more difficult) but since the hatchback if you pull the door rubber, you have complete access to the roof. M Busse Yep pretty much the same however you’ll need to run the rear camera through a wiring grommet (we have a video showing how). And the ACC/IGN fuses are not in the front fuse boxes so that wire needs to be extended to back of the vehicle.

    Hello Nathan, I found that my 2016 E400 W212 Sedan fuse box is actually located on the right side of the luggage compartment behind the cover. The other fuse box is located under the hood. However, I believe the targeted fuse I want to tap into is the one located in the luggage compartment.

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe A Yep that’s the one.
      So just follow the same wiring instructions here in this video for your fuse box. The three main power connections are made and the other two wires (with the female plug) run to the front of the car. You can also run the power cable from the BlackVue to the fuse box and do all of the connections there. Whichever suits you better

    Reviewing your video because I'm installing a Rexing dual dash cam hardwire smart kit which came with a 15 amp for constant power and 15 amp for accessory. And I want to get an ideal how to power up my dash cam. My fuses are located at luggage area rear of vehicle. So, my question why didn't you use a spare fuse slot instead of pulling out a fuse? Also if I have to pull out a fuse use that slot using a add circuit terminal, it's recommended not use a fuse higher amp than the accessory I'm installing. Which in my case is a 15 amp fuse. Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use an empty slot, we have also started doing this :). And you do not need to match fuses in the other case. Factory fuse stays the same, do not up size it. And secondary fuse use supplied fuses :)

      Steve To Hey mate! Yep we are still doing BlackVue with PMP and we’ve done the C63S.
      So we normally go to the fuse box behind the steering wheel (RHD).
      But it shouldn’t matter which fuse box you go to. So long as. You have BATT 12v and ACC. Now you say you’re confident that they are the correct way around, so my next step would be testing the fuse itself with a test light or multimeter. Maybe drop down the rear seat so you can lock the car up and still see it.
      Wait a couple hours and see if it switches off - newer cars. Mainly BMW actually have the constant fuses switch off.
      In this case. Battery needs to be run directly to the battery.
      PMP will only give you 4-6 hours anyway. So now might be a good tome to reconsider the CELLINK NEO or battery pack alike. You’ll get about 18 hours parking mode. That’s another conversation but a good idea.
      For the battery issue that’s how I would test it. It will determine if the battery is just reaching its cut off voltage very quickly or if constant is turning off. Either way the fix is run direct to battery 😊

      @@TheFittingBay Thank you so much for responding - So yes I did exactly what you meant, I left the car trunk open for 2-3 hours (lol) and recorded the video of it dying at 2 hours, it showed voltage still running and I believe the Mercedes has also got the constant fuses cut off as well.
      Picture of voltage below
      dashcamtalk.com/forum/attachments/1579825415325-png.50357/
      This is an old screenshot before I plugged it into a new fuse - so when the camera switched off, I tested it with the test light and it still lits :) (image below)
      dashcamtalk.com/forum/proxy.php?image=https%3A%2F%2Fcimg8.ibsrv.net%2Fgimg%2Fwww.mbworld.org-vbulletin%2F2000x1504%2Fimg_8271_4b582b883be47043b89355476cb09f5629545349.jpg&hash=222e0ebb145a61b45f5cc5ba3359a256
      This one was one of the constant power
      if you had a choice of which fuse to use at the trunk, what would it be? keeping in this mind, this is a coupe editin, so I think the fuse design variant might be a little different
      my brother just got a 7502CH, and I plugged it in hoping it was not the camera, and yes, it also switched off at around 2hours.
      At this point, my only hope now is to PLUG straight into the battery and I am working on who to do that- .. perhaps with alligator clips attached straight to the battery+ _
      it literally is the last resort - but you gave me hope by looking to plug the whole thing into the driver side dash.
      What fuses did you use for that (this is goign to be so painful to wire down hahaha
      Thank you and appreciate you responding so quick
      ps. you dont happened to be in sydney ? :)

      Steve To Hi Steve, good work mate! You’re getting there. So I’ll assume you’re using fuse taps (add circuits)
      In the video we explain the fuse box and fuse tap (one side of the fuse box has 12v feed and we insert the fuse tap in such a way that it works through the fuse properly)
      With this knowledge, what you should do is open the drivers door. On the far end of the dash there’s a panel, you can see it can be removed. Remove it and you will see the fuse box.
      There is a bunch of fuses (constant and ign)
      What I would do is look for a small pin that is currently unused (nothing in there, no fuses)
      Add your fuse tap the same way as normal, except now there is now fuse in the first position of the fuse tap, just the one at the back for your dash cam.
      What you’ve done now after inserting the fuse tap is put your 12+ onto a fresh feed. No other circuit is running off that and it should not turn off.
      This is how we do it usually.
      If you really want to use a fuse I’d be looking for radio/media fuses. With 12+.
      For battery connection (this is the hardest but the best way to do it)
      Get a ring terminal and crimp it onto a wire (16 gauge) is fine. And connect that to your PMP yellow 12+. Remember to fuse it!!!!!!!!!
      Hope some of this helps!

      @@TheFittingBay Thanks you for your generous help and assistances, I cannot ask for anymore ! i will try and find the ignition and constant battery for the front fuse driver side. this at this present moment is my only option, i would really like to avoid going straight to the battery at this present moment as this is too risky !
      But again, I appreciate all your help and thank you ! :) If ONLY you were in sydney, my brother (m2) and myself would've been in your shop in no time :)

    Afterwards you realize that blackvue is showing ads in the app before you can watch your videos.
    So first you buy s quite expensive camera and then you are still being shown ads.

      At least they’re only promoting their own products and I believe after the first use of the app it won’t pop up again!

    Nathan, you are connecting the constant power to the handbrake circuit! not a good idea, find a less critical circuit
