    Here's a tip: drop or throw the anchor at the moment when you turn off the engine and approach the beach while still on the jet ski. This way you can check if the anchor really holds your jet ski in place (and correct if neccessary) - especially in rough water!

    my cooper doesn’t do much to hold my 300 unless it’s soft soft sand I’m at browns bay. I use plenty of rope and 2 meters of chain so it’s enough to keep an almost flat angle. No rant just sharing my experience.

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah fair enough, I haven't tried at browns Bay before, only takapuna and some of the islands

    I tried a Danforth anchor on the weekend, first trip out on new RXTX300 & bloody thing kept coming out of the sand. Bought a Cooper anchor to try for next time.
    Do you leave your towing tether secured to your front eye all the time? Does it affect the way your ski drives??

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey my ski is a GTX155, performance feels exactly the same with the towing tether always attached. The towing tether is really well designed so it doesnt really touch the water or get in the way of anything when its not in use

      @@FishoDavo wouldn't it eventually leave marks after rubbing against the ski??

    • @FishoDavo
      @FishoDavo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tygallow3013 possibly, to be honest that hasn't crossed my mind since my ski is 2012, so old model and I don't mind any marks. It's mainly rope, and the rope doesn't look to be the kind that scratches things

    I anchor at Takapuna regularly have a fxho yamaha I find the cooper anchor doesnt hold to well even with the rigging -Ive gone over to a danforth non plastic anchor -the cooper let me down one time too many -Ideal for soft sand and flat day but nothing much else tbh.

    I bought two black coopers, what a complete waste of money. I have never had them hold more than a few pounds of pull in any area I tested them in and I have tried hundreds of times. 3m's of chain and 20m of rope on the anchor. I bought two so I could water sink one and use one at the beach or shore. They were a complete waste of $$$$. I bought a Mantus dinghy anchor and the thing has been fool proof so far, way more money but if it works then it is worth it. Now I have 2 useless coopers I do not even feel good selling someone else.

    • @robertquinonez_

      Yea right…the cooper blue anchor holds ski’s easily. The black ones are even larger
