Hi Debs and Dave..(lazy git!) the Broads are one of the jewels in our crown and a fabulous place to go.You've got a nice boat there,and you had beautiful weather to moor up and get in a bit of leisure and drinking after going past those beautiful homes.Thanks for taking the time to edit/splice and upload when you got back..it was well worth the effort and a great time was had by all..with super music to top it off.Thumbs up from here.

Hi Tuk , yes a nice few days down there ..or up there for You...we have been many times and always have enjoyed ...lucky with the weather ..and a boat we have had in the past which proves to be a good one for maneuvering and a few luxuries I.e. a bath, and proper toilet ...think the Air ambulance do a fantastic job in this large County ..and of course this is where William works ..but think he had left for Canada , was told afterwards no fatality , but serious injuries ...already looking to book for next year ?? ..well have looked ...cheers dave

Hi Julie , well Its easier than driving a car , and it is a very relaxing holiday ..or when Debs driving a very nerve twitching holiday ..LOL ...you should try a mid week few days see how you get on with it ....we have gone there for years , used to be every year ...but this was fist for 3 years ...keep saying we are too old for jumping on off boats , but shall keep trying as long as we can ...the sky down there when you have sun is so bright and the different cloud formations can give some great pictures ....Enjoy the rest of Sunday ...cheers Dave and Deb

Hi Mike , yes its a great place and very scenic around Horning and Wroxham of course , just rotton luck could not get under the bridge at Xroxham due to high water ,as I like that stretch up to Coltishall ...we were lucky with the weather as you could see..cheers dave

Never been to the area but noticed the large ,expensive houses and boats everywhere! Must be lovely to live there permanently but you probably get used to it quite quickly. Lovely way of relaxing,close to nature.Well filmed Dave, regards Geoff

Hi Simon , if you can drive a car a boat is easy ...mind had a few small collisions myself ...but they are easy on the rivers , its the canals that are not very wide , and then having to negotiate the Locks ....we used to go every Year , but this was a first for about 3 years now ....always enjoy ...Cheers dave
Lovely memories. We were on Mystic Horizon from Richardsons at Acle from 17 - 24 September so probably saw you. Very sad to be back at work and having to get my fix from watching lovely videos put up by kind souls such as yourself! Can't wait to go back.

looks like we both had lovely weather down there , we were down there from the 24th sept for a week this year. loved watching your video, ive just gone & lost one of mine from my fone & can't get it back boohoo.
We arrived on the 20 th ..dull , but from then till Saturday it was blue skies and sunshine ...a great place to have a holiday as you know ...pityu you lost the footage from your phone ...should be in there somewhere ..modern techn o can be a bit ??? at times ..dave

I used to do narrow boat holidays for youth clubs and schools. The funny thing I found about them was getting in the car and driving home,it felt like the whole journey was at a 100 mile an hour !

When my family went narrow boating my sister who insisted on steering could not get under a bridge without hitting one bank or the other. You looked like you and the Deb had a great time on the water.

Loved watching your tale just got back from two weeks on melody what cracking weather only had around three hours of rain total. Been boating a long time but It still fails me why boaters feel the need to pass so close to moored boats even when there is no oncoming traffic really annoys the hell outta me.

A lot of beautiful homes along the canal. Thanks for the canal / river ride / Cool. Are there any Pike in the river? Any good size the catch? Like the cabin, do you rent this boat? Who is the boats manufacture. We have these in the states, call house boats.

Hi Gary , yes there are some Beautiful homes , but one needs a good stack in the bank to buy one of those ....the Rivers are renowned for Pike and a lot of big Carp in there ..just a case of catching them ...we rented the boat , most of the boats are for hire through various boat companies ...Cheers Dav e

Hi David , yes lucky with the weather for this time of year ...or any time of the year here in the UK ...no licence needed for these boats but think a few drivers ( skippers ) could do with some lessons ...as you say lets hope the weather continues for your visit to the UK ....Cheers Dave and Deb

Hi ken , great place to holiday , a for mooring , well advisable to start looking from about 3-4 pm , and of course avoid school holidays , and then its not too bad , but height of season can be a nightmare , but if not wanting to go ashore , you can just drop a mud anchor on one of the large broads ...Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave, Similar to when we hired a house boat on the River Murray. Start looking about 3 or 4. There are lots of signs along the banks of the Murray saying Keep Out private property.

Excellent Dave! You guys are the best!! Are they expensive to rent? How easy is the navigation? Yours had a very nice layout. Those lakeside homes were gorgeous, but I'd think I would prefer the boat somehow... Those early morning shots you've taken are beautiful.. Thanks again Dave!!
Thank you , yes been going on the broads many years now , always enjoy , its relatively easy to handle these boats , and some of the new one have bow thrusts now which makes it even easier , but no skill needed you pick it up within minutes..just dont steer them like a car ...they are a bit expensive , that cost us approx £650 for Tues to Saturday ...then fuel on top ..but not a lot of cheap holidays these days ...the river homes can be £1000 for a week and usually booked up very early ...Cheers dave

if you wanna face the wide open ocean then you can come down to a nice river in a place called maldon, where they also have a mud run every year, great thing to see.

Must be a chore checking all your houses. You picked the right 4 days with the calm water / clear skies. Give you the benefit of doubt that isn't fishing weather - thought you did well considering. No horn when approaching bridge, no life jackets when on deck, the Stig's illegal use of torpedoes if other cruisers hold her back....no wonder you had skull and cross bones on the boat. You teased and then did not show going under the Wroxham Bridge. Now we are left to imagine how it went and who drove.
Yes it was a no no ..the bridge was too low for the tide ...we needed 7ft 1" clearance ..it was down to 6ft 6" so no chance of getting under ....better luck next time ..I hope as I do like that run up to Coltishall ...Cheers dave
Oh. I thought when you waited an hour, the river was low enough to clear your air draft and you went through. I did not know whether the Bure was tidal or not. Sorry you couldn't get through but the journey looked lovely anyway.
No it was at low tide when we approached and it was at 6ft. 5" ...they have been having high water down there for a few days , only they very small boats had been going through for the last 3 days ...pity as it is one of my favorite stretches up to Coltishall .....Dave

Well did ask them if they could give her a job as a Stocker on there , but told they have a diesel engine now so not needing any stockers ...as for her steering the Belle ...well you only got to see her driving a car ...she would give them all a heart attack on board ...Dave
