I live in Leoma, TN, Southern Lawrence Co. I’m 7 miles from Lauderdale Co, AL. I don’t farm in AL but the dirt is different.

It's the other brother now, nice vedio and you put in some good information.I just read a article about the plowing to incorporate your nutrients into the lower levels and the guy how did in got a even spread of nutrients from 1 to 12 inches after plowing. Before he said most of his was in the top 4 inches of soil. But that guy was in a I state, so glad to see someone in TN try it. Good luck with it and looking forward to seeing your results

I grew up farming in southern Connecticut and we plowed our fields under every spring , all the last year crops and fertilizer were plowed under creating good nutrients for the soil . We always had great crops every year

I’m from south east Alabama the old farmer I work for he would disc everything as deep as the tractor would pull it then every five years he pulled bottom plows and chisel plows through every bit of his land. He said organic matter don’t do no good on top of the ground. It needs to be where the roots can use it.

So what was your total average per ac last your on corn and are you doing the same thing to beans that you are doing to corn and what was your average per ac on beans last year how much land do you water and how is dry land I am from Northeast Arkansas I work on a farm we farm little over 10'000 ac Rice beans cotton corn ever couple years

Last year was a very bad year for us here with corn due to drought. I averaged 184 Bu per acre when most averaged 100-120. Now my beans were average 80 bushels and my cotton showed out because we got the rain at the right time for it, 1320 lbs average on cotton. We are all dryland no irrigated. Year before last I averaged 282 bushels of corn, 94 bushels on soybeans and 1280 lbs of cotton.

My grandaddy and great grandfather farmed cotton in Steele MO probably not that far from you Tim. Cotton is my families legacy and I would like to follow in my families footsteps since everything was sold about 10 years ago. I know it’s impossible to just start farming nowadays but I pray I can find someone to take me under their wing so I can learn. I don’t even care what the pay is I just want to be out in the fields learning learning learning how all this works and driving tractors, sprayers, and combines.
