As a American Airline family, I was a flight attendant and my husband is a retired Captain. We are appalled by this, he is an employee who has access to every piece of flying equipment they have, so he has an advantage over a pax doing it. It’s utterly contemptible behavior by an employee. 😡 If I could be on that jury!!!!
I was curious about a lot of things in this filing. For example when they say they’d tell the pilot. What special authority would the pilot have had? Could he have taken the man’s phone or somehow quarantined him? Is he the ultimate manager in the air?

@@NataliMorris The pilots could have radioed the tower and had law enforcement meet them at the gate, my biggest question is where was the Air Marshall? I thought every flight had one because of terrorism and unruly passengers?
@@GoogleSpyZon He did have the law enforcement meet them at the gate so he did at least that much. Clayton did an interview with an Air Marshall recently. They are not on every single flight apparently.
@@NataliMorrisYes, the Captain is the ultimate authority once that door is shut. He can cuff him and make him sit and detain him until the authorities come to arrest him. Once the door is closed, anything and every law broken on that plane is a federal crime.

Our world is so upside down these days. You literally have to escort your children in a restroom these days. The airlines and their lawyers are just as sick as the predators.

Of course, bathrooms are private, so one actually DOES have the expectation of privacy, it's a legal argument that has no chance of holding up in court. There have been similar cases in private homes. You can record in your own home and you don't even have to tell anyone you are recording, but in certain private areas like bathrooms, that is still completely illegal. If that is the best defense you can muster, you have no defense.
