Sweet Flathead! 1949 Harley WL Motorcycle

  • How much do you know about the fabled Harley WL 45 cubic inch flathead motorcycle. They are a timeless classic design that powered street bikes (WL), race bikes (WR) and the military (WLA) in WW2. Raced in the dirt, on pavement and in hillclimb events variations of this mighty flathead was produced by Harley-Davidson from 1929 to 1973.

    I have a 1945 and love that old bike, it's a glorified lawn mower engine and in the manual regarding tightening head bolts says to get them tight "unless" you have a torque wrench then tighten to 65ftlbs lol

    Hey Buzz, I'm trying to get that look with the bigger tires on my WLC, what size can i get to make them look beefier or are people changing the wheel size ? Thanks Craig
