Initially, I wasn't a fan of Steve Spurrier. He appeared cocky and arrogant. But I immediately changed my mind after he was interviewed at the end of this game. He flat out told the reporter during the post game interview that his Florida Gators flat out got their asses kicked and praised Nebraska. After that moment, I had huge respect for the Old Ball Coach. I was rooting for the Gators against FSU the following season for the Nat. Championship. I miss watching Steve Spurrier coached teams on the sidelines.

*"But I immediately changed my mind after he was interviewed at the end of this game"*
      LOL
      He has 2 choices.
      1) come out and be a poor sport and have people ridicule him for his teams performance, but also his sorry response.
      or
      2) come out and heap accolades on Neb then suddenly, saps like you are focused on his acknowledges (which any fool witnessed) vs Hey Steve, you suck.
Any fool would have chosen #2.

@@robjohnson8861 You are wrong, that's from your own opinions. And I have mine. Steve Spurrier flat out stated that his Gators got their asses kicked. Not many head coaches say that after a game when in fact they did get wasted. Most coaches make excuses saying...., "well,....we didn't follow our assignments and didn't execute." And more excuses. It was a tough pill to swallow especially when most critics stated that Nebraska played in a cup cake Big 12 conference whereas the Gators came out of the SEC undefeated. No one expected this blowout at that time when Nebraska had the reputation of folding in big bowl games. Sorry @Rob Johnson, your analysis is incorrect - mic drop.

Fond, fond memories of the ONLY Husker bowl game I ever attended live! I could write a book, but a couple of my favorite things were the sack and safety of Danny Boy, as this video pictures. I call the Fun 'N Gun the "Fun 'N Stun"! 🤣😂 Another fave thing was filing out of the stadium, watching Spurrier whine and cry like a 3-year old on the big screens! 😭 The Gators and their fans were shell-shocked, just like us Husker fans KNEW they would be!!! #greatestteamincollegefootballhistory !!! 🏈😁💖👏👏👏

Thanks@@90sSportsNostalgia! Because of your nice reply, and especially since you were a Gators' fan and such a good sport, I just hit the SUBSCRIBE button! I am 70 now, and my oldest nephew George was a walk-on for the Cornhusker secondary. So very proud of him, as at age 42, he is now a fine cancer surgeon at a leading hospital here in Omaha!!! 💕💕 I'll tell you another story about the pre-game: Two buddies and I drove down to Tempe as a last minute decision. We drove straight through for 24 hours. We had to stay the night in Globe, New Mexico, which was 50 miles from Sun Devil Stadium. Anyway, as we walked to the stadium before the game, there were two young, tall, and good-looking Gator boy fans walking across the street from us. They were dressed very nicely with their starched denim, white shirts, orange ties, and Gator caps. I wore my 1994 Husker National Championship sweatshirt with great pride! The boys began to talk smack to us, so I just smiled and said; "Boys, I just want you two to remember ONE THING: You are in for the SHOCK of your lives!!! 😁😁 I imagine they still recall what I told them to this day! This game was my PROUDEST MOMENT as a Cornhusker fan! My daddy got me to follow the Cornhuskers with him in 1962 when I was 11 years old, in Bob Devaney's first season. Sadly, I think the Husker Glory Days are long gone in my lifetime! 😢 In 8 days I will be a HUGE Buckeye fan as they take the the mighty Crimson Tide and the SEC! Thanks buddy! I wish for you and yours a great and safe 2021 as well!!! 😎😍

Were you drunk off your a**? Neb was 1-7 in their last 8 bowls, with the win being 7 pts over a coach that had lost his 2 previous bowls 34-13 and 29-0. And Sapp and what's face were in the 29-0 game too. How could you with a straight face make a statement like that? Where was the evidence? Ozzy was 8-13 in bowls.
If you made those comments to FL fans, wouldn't it have been a hoot to see what your comments were 2 games later to ASU fans after #17 ASU *"SHUTOUT"* ....#1....Neb, 19-0. Wow. Neb scored 77 pts in 95, 0 in 96.
      But even more funny. 11 teams scored against ASU that year, 10 of which were unranked and they scored 42, 35, 34, 29, 19, 14, 14, 7, 7, 7 but Neb.......0........
But still even more funny. Neb scored 55 the week before and 65 the week after ASU. In fact they scored 49+ points in over 1/2 their games.
Couldn't we say that Neb didn't show up in the ASU game. Careful. If you do, you have a problem. Exactly, FL could say the same damn thing.
And FL could bring more proof they had a problem showing up that calendar year.
2 mths after ASU embarrassed Neb,
      Game 1: FSU 24, FL 21
      33 days later
      Game 2: FL 52, FSU 20.
A 35 point swing when FL SHOWED UP which they clearly didn't against Neb.

Thanks for commenting. In this game, I don't believe he threw his visor. I remember a game against Vanderbilt, I forgot the year, where I think he threw it a couple of times. Vanderbilt had a good defense late in Spurrier's regime with the the Gators. The Vandy defense annoyed Spurrier at times with some good players like Corey Chavous and Jamie Duncan. I hope to see that GIF of Spurrier throwing his visor one day. Thanks again for watching.
