  • Going for my first run in months! Finally felt well enough and built up enough courage to go for a run! This was after my second ablation procedure in a year.

Yes, please make a video about your ablation procedure while being awake.

I am much older than you, but I have faced some of the same situations and conditions. Have had SVT, afib, PVCs, and aflutter for over 25 years. My first electrophysiology was terrible. He kept cussing out his nurses.
Changed electrophysiologists, new one really good…really good. Had an ablation which was successful except they poked a hole in my heart. I had emergency heart surgery, after I coded three times, to remove a large clot in my pericardium. Had super good doctors and surgeons. Have an implanted loop recorder now. Just had a wireless pacemaker and AV node ablation. Feel better than I have in years.
Good doctors make all the difference. You are in my prayers.

Good to hear your positivity - nothing like a run to raise the spirits. Hope your recovery is going well. I'm 68 and had a cryo-balloon ablation for my afib about 6 weeks ago here in England. I'm still feeling lots of ectopic beats but no actual afib since the ablation so far, though I do wish the ectopics would settle down. I'm running at the gym but slowed down by the sotolol (anti-arhythmic/beta blocker) I'm taking - can't get the ticker to go faster than about 110bpm. Also taking an anticoagulant (apixabin) of course which makes me wary of running outside for fear of a fall and causing a bleed. I'll go for a second ablation if the afib's not cured - 2nd time would be with rf catheter to plug any gaps around the pulmonary veins which the balloon might have missed. My ChadsVasc is only 1 (age) but that means I should stay on thinners though I'm thinking of risking a "pill in pocket" approach (see Ron Passman's brilliant lecture on this on TH-cam). I'd love to be off the sotolol and thinners! Wishing you the best for your recovery.

Did you change your diet? I went clean vegan (meaning no junk food) and dropped caffeine and I haven’t experienced any palpitations after the first couple of weeks of the new diet. It’s been 2+ years.

My cardiologist diagnosed me with SVT about a week ago and gave me the option to have an ablation or take meds. I decided the meds route and he gave me deltiazem, a calcium channel blocker. I felt better for about a week and then had an SVT episode, so now I’m considering the ablation. I’ve had one SVT episode in a week but my heart does seem to be in better rhythm. Before the meds, I would get palpitations, shortness of breath, dizzy by just laying down in bed, idk if you ever experienced that but thought that was odd. Even something as simple as bending over to pick something up or walking up stairs would make me feel that way but the meds seem to have fixed that for the most part. I would love to hear an update of how you’re doing after the ablation and if you recommend it. Having SVT episodes at work is really starting to affect my job so I want to get rid of them for good! Hope you’re doing well and hope to hear from you! Thanks! 🙏🏼

That's great! Good for you ❤ Is there a particular kind of magnesium you're taking? And how much vitamin D ? Curious what business did you start? And being a entrepreneur is awesome ❤

Thank you! And right now I am taking just Spring valley magnesium that you would find at Walmart 250mg twice a day. It says magnesium oxide on the back of the bottle. And as far as Vitamin D it’s spring valley vitamin D3 25mcg 1000 IU once daily. And I started a landscaping business! It’s just small business I’ve been doing solo for a few months now. But it’s been going good!
