My great uncle, Private Stanley lord of the Essex Yeomanry squadron was killed in the battle of the Somme on July 1st 1916, at the time he was in a barn sheltering from the German artillery bombardment and machine gun fire, he was taking a break with the rest of his group. Unfortunately, his whole squadron including himself was blown to pieces by a shell fired by the Germans. I visited the Thiepval memorial in France where his name is carved into the stone of pier one, face A. It was a great day to honor my relatives whose bravery in the battlefield ensured the safety and security of Britain, France, Russia and all the neighboring countries of Germany. May everyone who has been killed by the hand of war rest in peace. 🙏

Maniik Eddie Slovik The execution by firing squad was carried out at 10:04 a.m. on 31 January 1945, near the village of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The unrepentant Slovik said to the soldiers whose duty it was to prepare him for the firing squad before they led him to the place of execution, "They're not shooting me for deserting the United States Army, thousands of guys have done that. They just need to make an example out of somebody and I'm it because I'm an ex-con. I used to steal things when I was a kid, and that's what they are shooting me for. They're shooting me for the bread and chewing gum I stole when I was 12 years old."Slovik, wearing a uniform stripped of all insignia with a GI blanket across his shoulders against the cold, was led into the courtyard of a house chosen for the execution because it had a high masonry wall. The commanders did not want the local French civilians to witness the proceedings. Soldiers stood him against a six inch by six inch post. The soldiers strapped him to the post using web belts. One went around and under his arms and hung on a spike on the back side of the post to prevent his body from slumping following the volley. The others went around his knees and ankles. Just before a soldier placed a black hood over his head, the attending chaplain said to Slovik, "Eddie, when you get up there, say a little prayer for me." Slovik answered, "Okay, Father. I'll pray that you don't follow me too soon." Those were his last words.Twelve picked soldiers were detailed for the firing squad from the 109th Regiment. The weapons used were standard issue M-1 rifles with just one bullet for each rifle. One rifle was loaded with a blank. On the command of "Fire", Slovik was hit by eleven bullets, at least four of them being fatal. The wounds ranged from high in the neck region out to the left shoulder, over the left chest, and under the heart. One bullet was in the left upper arm. An Army physician quickly determined Slovik had not been immediately killed. Just as the firing squad's rifles were being reloaded in preparation for another volley, but before the reloading of the rifles was complete, Private Slovik died. He was 24 years of age. The whole process took 15 minutes.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Slovik Valiant Hearts: The Second World War...
Mad World good story Mad world im going to up it though Feburary 1944 6:18 pm 2 minutes untill Seargant Volkov was exectuted for betrayl. if only they knew the whole story. it was in the midst of winter in the forest bordering russian and the rest of europe. the germans were dug in like a tick and there was only one way for the red army... forward. for these brave selfless men there was no such thing as retreat, only forward. no matter the cost in lives or resources genaral Moroz was determined as hell to break through the Kraut line. He estimated the battle would take less than 2 weeks and 3,000 russian casulties but it was over a month and 20 thousand deaths confiermend. every day Moroz gave the men false hope by saying "today is the day we break through". Volkovs best freind since child hood Eline was scared every single day and today would be his last day being afraid. Moroz blew the whistle once giving the troops them the warning in 15 minutes the attak would start. 2 whistle blows, 3 whistle blows and at the 3 whisltle blow that was the 5 minute mark. Moroz looked at his men with despair in his eyes he knew that so many of these young man were going to die that day. He opened his mouth and stuttered out the words " men, soilders, medics, engineers and what ever else we have. we will break through this wall today we will not give up". Volkov sighed casue he knew it would end eventually. the fourth whistle blew about 400 men came out of there trenches running as fast as they could for a log to take cover behind, then another 400 and another 400 and the last bunch of 400 Volkov was in the last group and Eline was some where in the 3rd bunch. he saw men being shot down to his left and right. then at that moment a thought came to him "holy shit this is the farthest weve been". he ducked down behind a pile of boulders only to realize his mistake because of the 3 russian bodies next to him. He sprinted as fast as he could to a log and was hit in the leg, the pain didnt bother him at the moment and he ran to the log. he was shooting at the barracade and he saw a german in the disntance and took him down. Through all the noise he heard a mans scream and that was a scream that would terrify him for a the while he would live. it was Elines scream! He ran towards the screams of pain he was about 100 feet from the germans line. Volkov couldnt beleive waht he saw. Elines legs were blown off and his chest was open. there was no fixing this, they both knew what had to happen one couldnt say it becasue of the screams and the other could say it becasue of the tears, Volkov took out it Nagant and cocked the gun and put it to Elines head and pulled the trigger. Volkov just sat there in shock and didnt move. it wasnt untill Major Rusak ran up to him and looked at him he knew what had happened but didnt want to hurt Volkov so he sat next to him and said " Volkov were going to make it to the line today i need you". Volkov took Elines Dog tags and Hat and ran to the line like there was a black hole behind him sucking everything up he jumped in the germans trench and couldnt take it anymore, no more bombing, no more gun shots, no more blood. he tried to take it in and he asked one question "who killed Eline?". He grabbed a shovel and started swinging. he killed about 12 Krauts within the first minute and no matter who it was he was killing them. about 50 feet away towards where Volkov was running Moroz entered the trench, and they moved closer together and eventually Volkov swung his shovel and it connected to Morozs face. Bashing his face and killing him. Volkov had no intent of doing that. Rusak saw the whole thing. 2 hours later the germans either retrated or were killed, Rusak was now incharge and he knew the rules and so did Volkov. 1 month later Volkov was being Escorted to the middle of the woods, about 100 of his fellow comerades were there. this was the first execution the batalion handed out , so it was big news. he was attached to a tree. he was happy this was happeneing. he requested no to be blinefolded so he could see the men who would releave him of duty. Volkov was 20 years old. 8 bullets struck his chest and belly the kind of wound no one wanted but the final 2 blows would be his neck and heart. so how was that give me feed back
What if the sequel followed Emile's son (and possible other characters) during the Second World War. Showing people that German soldiers weren't all fascist Nazis.
unlike other people I didn't cry immediately after the ending. but during the credits I looked at the wall and saw a picture of my great-great grandfather who was alive during WW1...and THEN I started crying.
there are no winners in war everybody gave their life for what they believe, and I can respect that many people may have differing opinions on who was "the bad guy" but everybody loses in war so my condolences to anybody who lost anybody in the war no matter what side you're on we are all human beings in the end and hopefully in the future we will learn that we are all one of the same
Tomas Krbec "Reward" is a wrong word. The sad part is he has been sentenced to death for killing one of his comrades despite all the good he caused for the army. Killing is killing, though. Intentional and unintentional.
It takes some damn fine composition to make me tear up just listening to a song. Kudos to Ubisoft for making such a damn-near flawless game with a chilling soundtrack
Me encanta. Para siempre, Valiant Hearts...
WHY AM I LISTENING TO THIS?? IT HURTS ME INSIDE BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH! MY EYES BURN PLEASE HELP WHY IS THIS SO GOOD?!?!?!?! WHY VALIANT HEARTS, WHYYYY??? THE TEAR FELL OUT OF MY LEFT EYE, WHICH MEANS PAIN OR SORROW..
+JustAnotherGamer Mna, BioShock Infinite's premise kind of messed me up when it was all put together. At first, you're just like, "What?" and then it all clicks together and you're like, "What."
I got to confess that this game had me in tears in a lot of its moments, especially due to the sheer dissonance between the cartoonish artstyle and rather vivid, maybe not completely realistic, but convincing depiction of the war-time atrocities. I kind of wish it could be longer, posters and previews showed there could be a British pilot in the plot as well, but he only appeared once correcting your artillery fire during the Vimy episode.
For everybody who's looking for the music of Karl in the hospital (Chapter 4 - Saint Mihiel) for some reason it's not in the OST ! It's "Broken Wings" ! A very beautiful track !
Absolutely beautiful soundtrack for an amazing game. Gameplay / puzzles got maybe a little bit repetitive towards the ending, but the story and the unique look alone were easily enough to keep me nailed on my couch. Great history lesson, too. And yeah, manly tears were shed at the ending.
+Potato Valiant, Hearts, The Great, War. I have it and its the saddest and the bestest game I have ever played, I even drew a load of Walts, Emiles, and Karl, and it turned out to be amazing.
I've learnt how to play the credits song last year (Called Lonely Pebble I think) this game really made me think about all those people. All those sacrifices. All those stories. Just gone because of war. It's such a cruel thing to think about... I learnt to play this song in remembrance of all those soldiers and even civilians dying. I play it so they know they aren't forgotten and I thank them for what they did for our world.
Oh look the songs that play after the credits are titled "Sadness" and "Empty" My exact feelings when I beat the game. Great game tho. Thanks for the upload! :)
Eu acho que ano passado não tinha como saber quem merecia. the last of us nos emocionou muito, GTA V nos divertiu e evoluiu muito mais em termo de Historia the last of us esmaga GTA V
In memorian Amen
the second this soundtrack started playing, I almost cried. I'm crying now.. this game.. i haven't fully finished because I lost the disc for the ps4, but dang I wish I could've finished the game.
R.I.P. Emil Chaillon This is good man give youre life his country, France. And his famle. Let he rest in peace. And all those who died in the terrible World War, let all good life, in the heavens. Your heroism we will never forget! Thank you, thank you.
they shall no grow old, as we that are left grow old, age shall not weary them, nor the years condem. at the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remeber them We cherish, too, the Poppy red That grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies, But lends a lustre to the red Of the flower that blooms above the dead In Flanders Fields.
I can't really play the whole game because it's demo for me and I'm young (11 years old) so the only thing I can do is listen to this songs in the game (this is such a good GAME)
Feels heavy on people those have hard times Music makes us crying - I cry every time, out of my control, :| Games awesome Far away from the chaos, these times need to listen to these kinds of music especially the main theme and credits one Thanks
This game is the best game I’ve ever played not cod or battlefield it’s this because the story it tells. Not only is it a game it’s a story for those who have died
8 years..... 104 years after the end of Great War...... that was the most impressing and sad conflict for all of us that is no matter you are Pole, Russian, German, French or some one. That game isn't game for us, this game is something like tribute to our heroes, we must remember our soldiers and enemies. Enemies were humans too trust me. If you don't agree with me try to imagine you at the battle field trying to shoot 18 year old boy who is only an ordinary conscript soldier? i want to write something else pls wait for more
I Technically Never HAD Any of my Family fight in World War One. But my Great, Great Grandfather. Was stationed in the Panama Canal Post World War One. My Dad, showed me a picture of him. He still had the same Standard Issued equipment of the U.S. When they were fighting in the War. Him with his High Held boots. and Bags all over him. Leaning on his Rifle with his Helm Tipped Sideways. Playing this game made me learn SO Much about the history of the War. In the End, it felt like I had done so many before me...A Service, for keeping their memory...Their Sacrifice...Alive. God Bless all Those whom have Served and ARE Serving to this Very Day. Thanks.
the beginning and help the wounded , all soundtracks are awesome! always makes me sad in one second. I love the music in the game and also the game is awesome. Just music gives games this touch of emotion that you need in a good game.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War its not a game its art.
Grandai 3 Agreed
+Grandai 3 a masterpiece. just thinking about it makes my eyes watery. all such in possibility. so much forgotten
so true...so true
All games at this level should be considered art knowing how hard the video game making process is
+Grandai 3 If games are classed as art, than this is Da Vinci masterpiece. Gone but never forgotten!

*"War makes men mad"* - *"La guerra enloquece a los hombres"*

Is game is so well made.
So touching.
Emotional.
War.
Love.
Loss.
Everything.

Maniik Eddie Slovik
The execution by firing squad was carried out at 10:04 a.m. on 31 January 1945, near the village of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The whole process took 15 minutes.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Slovik
Valiant Hearts: The Second World War...
Mad World good story Mad world im going to up it though
Feburary 1944 6:18 pm 2 minutes untill Seargant Volkov was exectuted for betrayl. if only they knew the whole story. it was in the midst of winter in the forest bordering russian and the rest of europe. the germans were dug in like a tick and there was only one way for the red army... forward. for these brave selfless men there was no such thing as retreat, only forward. no matter the cost in lives or resources genaral Moroz was determined as hell to break through the Kraut line. 8 bullets struck his chest and belly the kind of wound no one wanted but the final 2 blows would be his neck and heart.
so how was that give me feed back
+Maniik The sequel would follow Freddy in WWI last year of combat
the story isnt over
What if the sequel followed Emile's son (and possible other characters) during the Second World War. Showing people that German soldiers weren't all fascist Nazis.
It takes a fair bit to bring me to tears...this game brought me to waterfalls.
unlike other people I didn't cry immediately after the ending. but during the credits I looked at the wall and saw a picture of my great-great grandfather who was alive during WW1...and THEN I started crying.
This soundtrack is full of emotion and feeling. Awesome!
there are no winners in war everybody gave their life for what they believe, and I can respect that many people may have differing opinions on who was "the bad guy" but everybody loses in war so my condolences to anybody who lost anybody in the war no matter what side you're on we are all human beings in the end and hopefully in the future we will learn that we are all one of the same
As the saying goes ... In war, it doesn't matter who's right. Only who's left.
Can we take a minute to appreciate everything about this game?
one of the best games I can remember.
poor Emile :´( :´(
After all he did he get worst reward of his life :´( :´(
Tomas Krbec "Reward" is a wrong word. The sad part is he has been sentenced to death for killing one of his comrades despite all the good he caused for the army. Killing is killing, though. Intentional and unintentional.
What makes me cried is that he will never knew that Karl is alive ...
Just finished this game. Amazingly beautiful.
Truly one of the greatest games I’ve ever experienced.
It takes some damn fine composition to make me tear up just listening to a song. Kudos to Ubisoft for making such a damn-near flawless game with a chilling soundtrack
Helal yes😢😢😢😢😢😊😊❤
This soundtrack is giving me such nostalgia. Makes me want to go back and re-play the game all over again.
Fun fact: this maybe is the best history mode game you ever played
this is one of the greatest soundtracks ever created
Games like Valiant Hearts and Tales from the Borderlands (specifically) seem to fall through the vents and it pains me that few people enjoy them
me too. i love Tales from the borderlands. It made me cry so much.
You should play bioshock. its pretty emotional too. :3
+Laura Irene (Lori) BioShock Infinite's ending is sad as all 'ell man
+JustAnotherGamer Mna, BioShock Infinite's premise kind of messed me up when it was all put together. At first, you're just like, "What?" and then it all clicks together and you're like, "What."
i know. those people don't understand the storydriven complex work of art it is.
This is Absolute Art...
For everybody who's looking for the music of Karl in the hospital (Chapter 4 - Saint Mihiel) for some reason it's not in the OST ! It's "Broken Wings" ! A very beautiful track !
If you had ever played this game hear this song this will give the actual feel while playing the actual game
13:35 is the saddest soundtrack (meaning also the circumstantial under which he plays) that can be heard...
a slight correction : valiant hearts : the great FEELS
Thanks a lot, this music makes me cry ::(
29:40 sounds so amazing ! It makes me wanna cryb😢 Ubisoft gotta make more stuff like this. Even the soundtracks shine
A Wonderful Soundtrack for a Wonderful Game :')
Where boys cry the death of Mufasa. Where men cry the end of Valiant Hearts. (I'm Russian, so I have to write comments with Yandex translator).
.
This is such a perfect soundtrack for studying and home work I love it so much.
War...War never changes
-wow, it seems it has started to rain
-no, you are crying.
-yes, raining
This is the best game I've ever played. I got it for free and I bought GTA 5 for a lot. Guess which one I enjoyed more?
+Potato this, cause it is better :)
+Potato Valiant, Hearts, The Great, War.
I have it and its the saddest and the bestest game I have ever played, I even drew a load of Walts, Emiles, and Karl, and it turned out to be amazing.
Yannick Oliveres I'm going to use a TOTALLY original joke... Valiant Hearts The Great Feels.
Potato Wow
It's not my favorite, but it's somewhere in my top 10. My favorite is by far Dark Souls.
I play it so they know they aren't forgotten and I thank them for what they did for our world.
the main theme make me feel chill around my body
My favorite soundtrack along with The Last of Us. Beautiful
13:35 Tears...
More that beautiful. More that a game. This feeling is indescribable. Art in you most pure form.
the theme to valiant hearts popped up on my spotify and i swear it made me cry my gay ass to sleep
Oh look the songs that play after the credits are titled "Sadness" and "Empty" My exact feelings when I beat the game. Great game tho. Thanks for the upload! :)
One of the best soundtracks ever
I ended this game yesterday i was crying at end. Best Soundtrack ever
Yes 😢😢
This... is the best OST in the world of the games
This game is a fucking jewel. I wish I could un-remember it so I could experience it all again.

GOTY 2014
Mateus Evaldo Realmente.
In memorian
Amen
Who can dislike this?...
Heartless people.
Valiant Heart-less people see what i did there? im to sad about this soundtrack to laugh though. im sobbing right now.
Baron Von Dorf and his men.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhh
The whole soundtrack goes really well with Rainymood. Even the happy tunes and The Star Spangled Banner.
the second this soundtrack started playing, I almost cried. I'm crying now.. this game.. i haven't fully finished because I lost the disc for the ps4, but dang I wish I could've finished the game.
It's a great game to get you bawling. Also you could buy the game on Steam if you wanted to finish it :P
If you want a gameplay that has a person bawl in it, you're sure to bawl with them.
people say i need a ubisoft account for it to compatible with steam, and i dont want to make an account. lol

This is good man give youre life his country, France. And his famle.
Let he rest in peace.
And all those who died in the terrible World War, let all good life, in the heavens.
Your heroism we will never forget! Thank you, thank you.
they shall no grow old,
as we that are left grow old,
age shall not weary them,
nor the years condem.
at the going down of the sun
and in the morning,
we will remeber them
We cherish, too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders Fields.
i feel touched
I can't really play the whole game because it's demo for me and I'm young (11 years old) so the only thing I can do is listen to this songs in the game (this is such a good GAME)
i played this when i was about 7-8, it was kinda difficult but i have good memories of the game
The line. '' some made it some....... Did not '' in the trailer killed me
Feels heavy on people those have hard times
Music makes us crying - I cry every time, out of my control, :|
Games awesome
Far away from the chaos, these times need to listen to these kinds of music especially the main theme and credits one
Thanks
This game is the best game I’ve ever played not cod or battlefield it’s this because the story it tells. Not only is it a game it’s a story for those who have died
8 years..... 104 years after the end of Great War...... that was the most impressing and sad conflict for all of us that is no matter you are Pole, Russian, German, French or some one. That game isn't game for us, this game is something like tribute to our heroes, we must remember our soldiers and enemies. Enemies were humans too trust me. If you don't agree with me try to imagine you at the battle field trying to shoot 18 year old boy who is only an ordinary conscript soldier? i want to write something else pls wait for more
This is beautiful.

Thanks.
Pretty sad that this great part of not just my life but so many others is now just nostalgia..
One of the most touching games I've ever had the pleasure to play.
Agh, this game is so depressing, but equally amazing....
A perfect complement to the game. A true gem

the beginning and help the wounded , all soundtracks are awesome! always makes me sad in one second.
I love the music in the game and also the game is awesome.
Just music gives games this touch of emotion that you need in a good game.
