Great content, and video series. Here is my DOOM story. One of the first games I bought in 1995 was DOOM, and yes it was the floppy drive version like you had. My neighbor asked if she could borrow it to play. I said sure since I already had it installed on my PC. She didn't return it, so after about a week I went to her house to get my box and game back. The DOOM story takes me back. I had a similar story where I had to decide between Win3.11 and DOS games - on my original computer, I also had to play at a small size; and did similar things - then came DoubleSpace and that allowed me both Windows and ONE DOS game - DOOM was the game.
I've been really curious about all this for a while, but didn't know where to start. This era of gaming is what got me interested and I miss it. Well, this and the Genesis. 💚

I change cycles on the fly. I explained this in the last video, but you can press ctrl+f12 to speed up the clock cycles, and ctrl+f11 to slow them down. So if I launch a game and it doesn't have great performance I will play around with the cycles to get it perfect. Obviously this is all better if you set your options on a game by game basis but what I like about Dosbox Staging is that it has good CPU compatibility across the board so you rarely need to tweak anything. Out of the 100+ games that I've downloaded only maybe 5 of them need me to adjust the cycles.

Try a different core, and you can also download the alternate version of retroarch that gives you access to more cores. If the game doesn't work in one core there's a good chance it'll work fine in another.

What about late 40s 😢
Why would u feel guilty for playing favorite games at any age, I'll probably play till death stop me😂
Ooo they have doom on computers now, I'm going to have to try that sometime.
It's even on compoopers!
What is the name of the game at 14:11?
Heroes of Might and Magic 2
I wasnt looking at the screen at the time, but I just knew you'd spelled it with 6 O's. 😂
I think I JUST realized something about you tech deeeb. Your shirt has the same colors and the root beer logo colors… 😮
🤯
Would it be pop in a custom made keyboard on video play mat print type o writer alike with windows port slim slik a
I was today days old when I learned what a run.bat file is.
Alright, what do we have to do in order to get you to enjoy a better quality root beer than A & W?!? Other than that, you do most excellent work.
And I sure do miss DOS, I even miss Windows 3.1
You can install Windows 3.1 in Dweeb_DOS!
I like the keyboard that seems by 8bitDo
..you should mention that, this is for 64bit only ;) .. it won't work for slightly older laptops .. ex. XP or win7 32 OS
How do i play Cyberpunk in dos mode at 240p?
Reinstall Windows
How many inches is the monitor? What resolution are you running the system in?
Fan here that want to join the DOS club. Using dosbox directly is better than using the dosbox core from RetroArch?
I could never get Battlespire to work, wanna help?
I don't have time to tinker on this right now but perhaps this will help? www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=42151
@@TechDweeb I shall give it a peep thank you. I gave up many years back because I wasn't able to get this specific title to run. I have had it since a kid on CD. Love your content, today is the last day in my 30s. Smh where did the time go TechDweeb
Whats the game in the thumbnail?
Albion
Bro i haven't heard batch file in 30 year's 😂OMG !
Any plans to make Dweeb DOS for Linux or macOS?
Seems like a lot of instances where TH-camrs are getting copyright strikes when talking about "retro gaming" in many different forms. Seems like people or companies are really going after TH-camrs for some reason these days. Shame to see so many channels dealing with Copyright Strikes.
Dweeb Senpai, how can you play Sega Saturn games on RetroArch on Android?
I really wanna play X-Men children of the atom. But Yaba Sanshiro 2 independent emulator is stuck on title screen
Try a different core, and you can also download the alternate version of retroarch that gives you access to more cores. If the game doesn't work in one core there's a good chance it'll work fine in another.
@@TechDweebI tried Yabause and Yaba Sanshiro 2 on retroarch. It's not working...
I tried extracting the rom which is on. 7z format and the beetle core can only go to the capcom screen.
I tried multiple bios on yaba sanshiro 2 pro version and it's the only game that I have which had issues.
It will play up until the title screen. When it asks you to press the start button, it got stuck
this arrived just in time i have been wantiing to play system shock! thank youuuu
I'm after heroes of might and magic II on android Odin 2, is it possible ?
DOS time taking it back
Is there a way to run your version by using your zip to modify DOSBOX on linux?
Happy Life Gamers....
Oh man! I went into the rabbit hole with Doom when I got Dweeb_dos setup :-)
First I got Doom running, then doom II and doom SE - Then multiplayer via IPX...
Then I found 'No rest for the living' and 'master levels' and even an obscure old mod made of Copenhagen central station in Denmark that I loved as a child X-D
Then I got into the oooold DOS source ports of doom.. First Boom ... then MBF (witch can also run SIGIL I and II BTW)
Then Doom Legacy and last TARTAR (witch can run everything with upscaled resolution mouselook and even 32 players multyplayer)
In other words ... i used waaaaaay to much time on setting everything up and nearly Zero time on playing X-D
Now I am onto Quake and Dukenukem 3d, and heretic and hexen and, and, and...
Bye! :-D
