In this adventure, I revisited Manila's most crowded and famous slum just days after the devastating super typhoon hit. To my surprise, everything seemed astonishingly normal, as if the storm had never passed through. The streets were bustling, vendors were out, and the community was alive with activity.
What struck me most was the spirit of the people I met along the way. Despite the recent calamity, everyone appeared happy and untroubled. Their resilience and unwavering positivity shone through, a true testament to the Filipino way of facing adversity with a smile and a strong sense of community.
Join me as I walk through this so-called Super Slum, capturing the everyday lives of these incredible individuals and witnessing firsthand their remarkable ability to bounce back. This journey offers a poignant reminder of the strength and spirit that define the Filipino people.

I really like this video. It's clever and well done. It doesn't matter what other people say, or what your intentions are. You've done a great job of raising awareness of these problems, which are impossible for the world, your government, and your countrymen to ignore anymore.

I can't understand why people choose to live this way... poverty is not a choice, but living in your own filth is. All of that garbage did not just appear there, it was brought there, and then left there. I understand they don't have garbage pickup every Wednesday like I do, but as a community they could figure something out that would be infinitely better than this.

In 2020 I spent 3 months in BGC and took as much video as I could, not touring the slums was my biggest regret, I hope to come back one day and experience it, love your videos.
While I am at it, another pissed off point. This is a predominantly Catholic nation, however :the Catholic church offers these people nothing. No soup kitchens, food banks, affordable housing, nothing. I want to know where all that money I put in the "poor box" actually went to? The mansions the church owns that line the Hudson river in NY?
Meanwhile somewhere in the West as person picks up a plastic food wrapper off the beach and thinks they’re making a difference to the the amount of plastic in the oceans.

I’m in the Philippines as well speak and my respect for these people is untouchable the way they just get on with it when for many the odds are stacked against them and they are always smiling and very welcoming. As someone from the west you learn very quickly that you don’t need the best of everything to be happy as long as you have each other that is all you need, my respect for these people is totally 💯 legit
