I will never forget how genuinely happy Rean looked in CS4’s ending.
Well, a massive weight had been lifted off his shoulders due to Ishmelga no longer being there to hold him back, Operation Jormungandr terminated, and not bearing the burden of being the sacrifice
He finally deserved an ending that didn't kick him in the nuts

This series has gotten me through 2 years of hell and 10 surgeries after a bad car wreck. I started the first Sen no Kiseki right after my accident and have finished IV just recently. These characters, this story, and the incredible music has helped me along this road to healing!
8 years here. Same situation, same appreciation. Nice to see I'm not the only one.
This series has kept me company during a very dark depression, and it's tones of strength and courage really rub off on me. This is the type of media that gives me strength like no other. I may be unable to enjoy much in life, but I enjoyed these games very very much and they are special to me because of it.
I started playing Trails of Cold Steel last year when I got covid. 18 months later, yesterday I finally finish Trails of Cold Steel 4 and man, it was a bittersweet feeling. Really can't believe that it's over. Crossbell Arc is still my fav, but I love the way they wrapped the conclusion of 3 great saga in Trails of Cold Steel 4
Haven't been through a car accident that messed me up that badly, but went through a nasty divorce process and long term like depression phase I'm still in, but persona 5 then the first cold steel game (googling persona 5 clones to play when depressed as I doubt atlus are the first and last ones to do something vaguely similar 😂) helped me coped a bit and got me into the whole series 😂
Greatest ending song ever for a video game that hardly gets attention but yet pours more heart and emotions than just about every big video game
It is getting more attention in the West. Cold steel 4 was sold out everywhere near me I had to drive 2 hours to get a copy
I cried and sobbed more on those 9 games series than all others games I have played in the past 27 years of my life together.
No surprises there. There are 9 games worth of history packed into one ending song
Just finished CS4 today. The end of a nine games saga was so much more fullfilling than I could imagine. I mean, I thought that I would cry, but instead I was smiling so much thinking back to what all of the characters have gone through. I'm glad that Trails is a part of my gaming life.
Just finished and I completely agree! I got into the series very late but I caught up quick and now I can’t wait to see what’s next.

@Halcon Serrano hajimari is what happened "in between" cs2 and cs3. so cs4 is still the last timeline wise. or until we see the latest 3rd plan of the grandmaster. which she kickstart at the end of cs4
Spoilers:
Hajimari is what happened after CS4. It's like the post-epilogue of the series, showing the effects of the events in CS4, and how does the continent of Zemuria responded to it. Also, one of the main characters of Hajimari is Rufus, since he broke out of prison in order to know who impersonated him in the incidents that happened.
It took me 874 hours and almost two and a half years but I've finally finished the Trails of Cold Steel saga.
It's impossible to express in words just how important the journey of Class VII is to me.
To me, these games are without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest video games ever made.
I want to say thank you to everyone involved in making these games. You've created something truly special.
"Trails of Cold Steel has now reached it's conclusion. Thank you for journeying with us through this saga until the very end. See you again... Someday. Somewhere"
Never before has a simple end credits message brought about such a profound sense of satisfaction and happiness.
Also, I didn't actively notice until my second playthrough, but Emma is drop dead gorgeous in that dress of hers. Rean sure was a lucky man in both of my playthroughs (she was his date in Mishelam both times).

Rean and class 7's story might be stopped for a while, but our journey is not ended yet. The next stage will be in the Republic, and we will surely be aided by characters from previous title, just like Estelle and Lloyd aiding class 7 in this game.

New Headcannon: the music for the Cold Steel saga is all composed by Elliot and Fiona Craig and is a musical narrative of Class VII's journey.
Also, the tribute to A Glimmering Tomorrow in the start and end of the song are great touches.
I started Trails in the Sky FC in March as a lockdown game. Since then I've been playing all of them (including Zero and Ao) back to back and I never got bored of them. I cried my eyes out at the end of Cold Steel 4, this music does it all. Especially the Seasons of Departure bit at the end... T_T
I struggled to hold back my tears watching the credits roll! I know this sounds really stupid as their fictional characters but after all my time spent with Class VII it really felt like saying goodbye to genuine friends. I love these games.
You're not the only one my friend pretty sure we all teared up during the credits roll. I feel the same way as you do about Class VII especially since Cold Steel 1 was my introduction to the series. I think this has the best feels like ending in the series so far. Now we need to wait for Hajimari in 2023

I kid you not... A week ago from when I'm writing this, my grandmother passed away. And this song was all I could hear in my head, when I was reminiscing...
And when the final bit in my head started, I thought I heard her voice, telling me to smile, and live my life to the fullest, and she will be watching over me.
Kiseki for me is a series that means so much, and it's amazing music (this track in particular) is a symbol for me. It will forever be a bridge between me, my family who is not here anymore, and all the good memories with them.
Thank you Falcom, from the bottom of my heart. And thank you grandma. I hope to make you proud, and keep your smile alive

I just finished TOCS 4 and I can CONFIDENTLY say this was my favorite JRPG series of all time. The tears I shed, the happiness I felt and the warmth I had playing though these games can't be compared to any other. The characters, ost, gameplay, animations, voice acting, world building, everything was just beautiful. I'll never forget this game and I started playing TOCS 1 when I was at a very low point mentally and now it's 4 months later and I am in peak mental condition! Thank you so much Falcom especially, the music more than anything else touched me more than any other game I've ever played, and it gives me a reason to look forward to the future. The only other media that's made helped me mentally this much is Fairy Tail and Gurren Lagann. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Interesting bit that I noticed recently
Sen 4 is the only Sen game that has an outright happy ending
Sen 1 ends with a tense cliffhanger, Sen 2 ends in a bittersweet tone, Sen 3 ends in a despair enducing cut to black.
Only Sen 4 is the only one that has an outright happy ending and by God do you feel it.
Rean and Class VII finally made it!
I hope Hajimari's ending is able to recapture this feeling considering it's the true end of the erebonia saga.

Yeah, so, if you haven't played the other arcs, you probably aren't aware this is like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but for JRPGs. I'm expecting Hajimari to be the equivalent of Trails in the Sky: the Third. It will act as a bridge from Erabonia and Crossbell to wherever the series goes next: probably Calvard.
Maybe you're right but I think I was sadder at the end of CS4 than I was at the end of CS2.

Yeah. This is my absolute favorite moment in fiction. Nothing comes close.
I've started this series back in January 2020. My expectations weren't low, since I've heard so many people talking about how good this story was. But I definitely didn't see much appeal at first. Hell I was kind of overwhelmed when I began Sky FC. I thought I couldn't really enjoy this story. When I played through FC I really loved the characters and the Kingdom of Liberl but I wasn't that hooked yet. That is until I've reached the ending and my mind was completely blown. From there, I've started to slowly fall in love with everything about this series... By Sky 3rd I noticed this simply became my favorite fictional media out of them all. And as I went on with the games, this feeling just became stronger and stronger. I just couldn't wait where we would head next with the story and was always thinking about the characters, the intricate lore and worldbuilding... Never have I seen a story this thoughtfully and carefully crafted, characters this full of emotions... When I finally got my hands on CS4 I knew perfectly this game would've made an impact on me... and good Aidios if it did.
Saying that I bawled my eyes out when these credits started rolling is an understatement. I've never cried this hard in my entire life. I swear to god I'm pretty damn sure I cried for an hour straight, I'm actually surprised I survived that without dying of dehydration.
This song, paired with all the visuals... All the characters we've met until now, all the stories they had and shared... This truly is something special. I'll really never have a fictional story this close to my heart as Kiseki.

You can say a lot about CS4, and about the cold steel series as a whole, but the ending was still great. Probably the best part of it all.
It definitely had some flaws compared to Sky and Crossbell but overall it was still amazing. The ending for this game is by far the best in the series imo

I really don't think I could find another more engaging and beautiful series than The legend of heroes if i looked, I finished the game exactly 6 months ago yet i keep coming back to visit all of the soundtrack from Trails in the sky to cold steel, Such Beautiful and brilliant series.

This song and sequence had me a little choked up, but bringing back the CS2 ending theme briefly at 6:30 was what got the tears to flow
I bawled my eyes out for the normal and true ending. Finishing Cold Steel leaves a hole in my heart. I never want to say goodbye. But what a journey it was. Now I need to finish both Erebonia and Crossbell arcs in Reverie. One last final hurrah being with SSS and Class VII. Man. This music still hits me. I wish my life would also have a nice ending

@@gavingonzalez367 don't know about release date, but it take place mostly in Crossbell, so even a lot of people say it's a cold steel 5, but it's actually more of azure 2...

Yeah hearing all this music definitely makes me wish it would come sooner but at the same time I choose to not see any spoilers for it because I want to experience the story myself. So this is definitely a long but worthwhile wait.

I get sad when I hear this song cause its the happy ending and official ending to this saga, but I get un-sad when I think of the fact that I'll be playing these games again in the future as well as the newer arcs where we'll probably see these characters again.

@@brysonbradley6919 No it's not, it's most likely going to be the last game in the WESTERN half of Zemuria, we haven't had games from the Eastern half. I've seen people say that We're 50% of the way storywise with Coldsteel 4/Hajimari?
Hajimari is definitely not the last game. They set up a ton of future things for the series that I won't spoil, but it's not the last game

Just finished the game last saturday. A very fitting ending theme for the end of the Cold Steel series. The only Trails series that I stuck with and completed. Thank you Class VII! Thank you Falcom!

The end credits actually made me accept that CS4 is ending more then any other game has done before. It doused some of the sadness in my heart from this saga coming to a close. (if you got the normal ending because you didn't do sidequest/get lost arts I feel for you)
Watching this ending after the normal ending was the best experience ever
You have to go through the normal ending to qualify for the true ending anyway. Even if you didn't do the side quests or get the lost arts you can still get the true ending. You just reload before Osborne's fight and some weird portal thing shows up where it quickly flashes back and takes you to kill the holy beast then you move on to fight Osborne and you can get the true ending from there. The only problem with not doing the side quests and getting the lost arts before hand is you have to fight Osborne again.

Damn it's such good series to the point where when i heard the song i still feeling it.
What an ending. You really feel you earned it. And what better way to celebrate, than with the happiest day on the life of two people who went through so many ups and downs to get there.
Plus all the others and what they are doing. It truly feels like a gathering of friends celebrating to their hearts content.

Those already a few shots into the "battle".
The girls in the cusp of beauty and elegance.
The dudes clapping backs and giving sass.
The ones who are there for the buffet (and both their names start with an R), with their friends and family chastising them for it.
And who caught the bouquet? The one who always brings a smile.
Truly a well-deserved happy ending for everyone, characters and players alike.
Best capstone ever. Especially because it is followed by that awesome post-credit scene. It really leaves you hungry for more.

This music heals my heart... I haven't gotten to CS4 yet, still just finished CS2, but this hits me nonetheless... it just pours out the stories of all those amazing characters, their struggles and their bonds, and it's like they're standing at the end of their journey and looking back at the bittersweet past... Falcom has created a true legend... never before and never again.

i remember holding back my tears and sobbing so hard when Valimar was saying goodbye to Rean and everyone and then once again when this song kicked in and the entire credits happened... i don't remember a game making me feel that way ever.

Hey everyone please read this, there are MORE tracks of CS4 under the Sen no Kiseki Super Arrange Version on this channel. These are made from the earlier games and were so good that Falcom decided to put them in CS4 (though regretfully like 4 of them didn't make it since there wasn't a good scene for them). I highly recommend you check it out. Also if you've player trails of zero and/or azure, they got a super arrange version as well which I highly recommend.

I had to wait 3 years for Cold Steel 3's English release, hopefully it won't be 4 years for Cold Steel 4's English release. This is a very memorable series. It made me cry when Crow died, it made cry when Angelica died, and the end of the series made me cry also.

So many hours of my life were taken up by these games. Now I'm finally done... until the Crossbell games and Trails Into Reverie come out in the west.
It's been a blast guys now is time for Rean and Class VII to rest. And we can focus on Calvard next and moving foward relentlessly ;-;.

I can go on for days about why I do not like the CS arc, but seeing the slides at the end still makes me so happy and sentimental, and reminds me of why I fell in love with the Trails series in the first place. Glad to have made it to the end of this journey.
I really miss this cast. Reverie was the perfect send off.
I miss them too but i'll be honest, they overstayed their welcome after 5 games.
I'm excited for Daybreak to come out later this year to finally get a breath of fresh air and experience a new cast of characters and story
@babatundeismail6732 Speak for yourself lol. I could watch a whole lot more of the Erebonian cast; they still had alot more to offer.
IMO they didn't stagnate. For example, 6 months to 1 year from the end of Reverie each member of Class VII would be doing something different.
NC7 have to find their place in the world, who knows what Laura would choose, Rean has a certain someone with him again along with a whole new class (+ that whole extra segment that happened after Reverie's events), Pre-Class VII had a new direction entirely, Erebonia was going to have a change in government, and the tech companies are being revamped.
The best part of Reverie's future was what happens in Rean's route in chapter 1. I won't say it for fear of spoilers but it deals with their political power and area of operation.
