That big guy Andy Black, he is like one of those guys that`s just huge and strong, like human tractors, he reminds me of like a Tarmo Mitt type, born for hard work.
We need to see Big Loz competing (for fun) in some Scottish Highland Games. Would also love to see you two head to Iceland, hook up with Magnus or someone, and drive the island attempting the various stone lifting challenges.
Believe it or not, stone lifting has started springing up all over the world. I live in Utah, USA, and someone has gone out and found a bunch of sites across the state with nice natural stones to make challenges out of. The lightest is 240 lb and the heaviest is around 500. Different challenges for each. Some are to pick up and walk for distance, others are to pickup and place on a larger stone nearby, etc. Pretty awesome if you ask me.
Nice, I have a 230lb stone in my backyard that I practice lapping and walking with, it's a pretty big and awkward stone. I've never touched an atlas stone but I'd imagine it'd be easier considering it would be round and sealed concrete, not natural Stone
@@papasauce234 atlas stones are definitely easier with tacky but without they're actually harder because they're smooth and no handholds. I enjoy shouldering and pressing lighter natural stones, I've never tried walking with a heavy one
@@papasauce234 I've x2 100kg sandstone blocks; odd shapes and great to pick up & throw about I've also a 110kg atlas stone that I use to lap, squat and shoulder and no tacky allowed; it's bloody hard work; because they get very dusty and very slippery. More so when wet! They've just no grip at all. I train on my pals heavier stones too (he's in this video helping out) I'm fortunate that I've got those as they've allowed me to lift the Menzies, Dalwhinnie & Newtonmore stones with some ease
Now is the best time to challenge Loz to a thumb war 🤣 probably still get my arse handed to me! Top effort mate and Andy absolutely smashed it, he's the future. I reckon Loz is having a bit of a second wind in his career, great result at the strongman classic and the dinnie stones record and no injuries!
Incredible effort by Loz and Andy! I would love if it Loz would travel to Iceland and lift the Húsafell Stone, as well the stones at Djúpalónssandur. Liz could lift amlóði and attempt hálfdrættingur (with training from Loz) - I’d pay to see that! Finally, Loz could pay his respects to the great Jon Pall.
One world record in two days is more than most of the worlds 8 Billion could ever dream of. Well done. You definitely will break the second world record, no problem
No, I believe this was the first time it’s been attempted at this location. The gathering is usually a big event, but unfortunately this year it had to be held privately because of Covid restrictions.
Wow loz if youd been fully rested i think you hve a dam good shot at it, andy missin it by 5cm tho thats gotta sting hope you both give it another shot in the future 😎
There might be a good reason but why don't they wear padded gloves, surely that would solve at least part of the thin handles cutting into the palm of the hands, and slightly spread out the contact patch.
I call bullshit: Anyone can see that you would have had the record except for the wind! It was blowing right in your face; your hair was blowing. (You have to play it back in slow motion.) It's ingenious how these 'walking' stones seem designed to prevent walking at all; they fight your every step. Would love to see spend the next two years attacking this challenge and shaming blokes from the last 700 years! 😂😂😂
1:49 - Many will no doubt find this ridiculous but, not being a Strongman myself, I actually had to Google why Loz was sniffing smelling salts there! LOL! At least I know now!
The Nicol Stones weigh 138kg and 114kg. Luke’s world record stands at 19.3m, which Andy missed by just 5cm!
What's 5cm between friends?
Was so amazing to see you guys do this in person, unbelievable strength 💪👏🙌
That s heavyyyy
I feel if Loz could increase his step length a fraction, thus reducing the time frame, he would excel. Obviously he was knocked up from the day before
Another huge lift and walk attempt @big loz official
If you hadn't have smashed the Dinnies; you'd have smashed this record IMO 💪🏼
Loz: I'm retired. Also Loz: two world record attempts. (and breaks one)
He's retired from not taking world records.
Loving this kind of content. =)
That big guy Andy Black, he is like one of those guys that`s just huge and strong, like human tractors, he reminds me of like a Tarmo Mitt type, born for hard work.
Now that's a blast from the past.
Great comparison! He was a superb strongman; massive grip potential!
Good to see a few people remember Tarmo Mitt, Estonian beast. Very unassuming but he had incredible grip strength.
BigLoz, taking retirement 1 step at a time...sorry could not resist after the Dinnie Stones record too!
Why would you resist bringing a littlest bit of joy to the world
For a retired man, Loz sure works hard to show the opposite 😂 A world record earlier! 🎉🥇👏
Who’s that lady yelling at them? Damn, I could really use her in the gym, I’d be 3x as strong! 💪
in the first half of the attempt, Andy looked like he was carrying 2 grocery bags which were slightly heavier than he had expected, but not by much.

Brilliant idea!
That would be fantastic.
@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 Look up on TH-cam the documentary made by Rogue Fitness called FULLSTERKUR. It's the best answer to your question.
Couldn't believe I got to meet Big Loz and Andy Black on the same day. Brilliant effort by the guys 💪💪
Please have a talking strongman episode with Jan Todd.

You don't need an excuse to come back up Loz, there will always be a warm welcome for you and your family. You're part of the legend now 😎❤️
1:44 haha Liz quick as a flash, "I'll do that!"lol
Love to see all this still happening in Scotland culture still going strong and Big Loz 💪💪👏👍
Amazing having you guys up again! Hope to see you again soon 🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻💪🏻
Andy was like a zombie man he just kept going!
It would be great to see a series of you going around the country, beating local strength tests like the Dinnies
Would LOVE to see Loz on another season of Strongest Man In History!
Man, that whole community is just awesome. Nothing but love and support from everyone.

3:18 with that girl shouting at me I would go on forever lmao nice support
these stones should be an Olympic event..
looking forward to the next Nicol stone walk video.
Gooo onnn big loz proud of you bro .... 💪 big love from Manchester
Sounded like Kristin Samuelsson in the crowd. ;)
Complete legend loz💙🏴🇬🇧👌

Definitely something we have planned
Such camaraderie and sportsmanship is everything. I was screaming at the screen.. C'mon Loz.. Good showing..
This is the ultimate version of the "you must bring all the grocery bags in from the car in a single trip"
Big Andy looked like He was just taking a walk in the park ! Picked the stones up like they were nothing !!!!!!!
Grim determination pushing through. Curious to see an attempt when you didn’t do a record stone walk the day before.
Love seeing the support strength athletes show for each other. Well done.
Crazy and amazing at the same time
The legend keeps on keeping on !!!
Loz is such a boss. I’m so glad I found his channel.
I love watching these world record challenges keep it up and ty
Love these stone videos your putting out
Superb effort guys!!
Strong Loz !! They look Brutal
Great job Loz!
Well done Loz.
One world record in two days is more than most of the worlds 8 Billion could ever dream of. Well done. You definitely will break the second world record, no problem
Big loz is still a legend in my eyes weather he wins or loses
So happy Andy will be competing in Manchester
Great job - what a walk...
Great job man!
I love these challenge videos 🙏
Big Andy can probably take that record soon. Great job by both of ya.
Great weekend of stonelifting! Sorry we couldn’t have been at either!
Big Loz looking to break records daily .. great effort 💪
Very good effort
You're a real winner in my book
Andy made it look so easy picking them stones up first time I was expecting him to run with them 😂 great effort by both guys. 👍
Loz you are a huge inspiration. Good job mate
found my self shouting come on Loz at my laptop screen
here we go Big Loz
So impressive!
Loz must have been depleted from setting the WR with the Dinnies. I'd like to see him have a crack at the Nicols absolutely fresh...
Are the Bagpipes a backing track or can you always hear pipes playing somewhere in the distance when you're in the land of the Scots :-)
There’s never not bagpipes faintly playing here!
Is the record always set at the same place? To my eye, that course was up a hill.
No, I believe this was the first time it’s been attempted at this location. The gathering is usually a big event, but unfortunately this year it had to be held privately because of Covid restrictions.
@@BigLozOfficial Thanks for the reply, Andy can definitely take a little extra solace in missing out by 5cm on an uphill run with the stones :-)
Hey Big Loz, where can i get that "scottish strenght" tshirt at. Any help would be appreciated.
My thumb is F@cked lol hope you are ok great job
Man I thought Andy was done well before he dropped them, beast.
I could almost Loz thinking “what did I get into’?
Wow loz if youd been fully rested i think you hve a dam good shot at it, andy missin it by 5cm tho thats gotta sting hope you both give it another shot in the future 😎
I like be the Scottish accent. So masculine, manly just to speak it. Their history of power is legendary.
Andy Black looks so much like Dijkstra from Witcher xD
Man Andy started so we'll, it looked like he was walking with two suitcases.
I'm slow.....I was thinking these were the Dinnie Stones, not the Nicol Stones. I was like "apparently Shaw struggled with these" lol.
Loz, retired are we? 🤣
Like I tell my wife, every centimetre counts
Big Loz 🥇💪🥳
Another huge lift and walk attempt @big loz official
If you hadn't have smashed the Dinnies; you'd have smashed this record IMO 💪🏼
Great effort for an old man. Retirement is going well, feet up taking it easy, don't think so.
Great effort...I sympathize with those poor thumbs👍
This is what happens when liftings in your blood. You never stop even when your retired. We'll done to everyone
Now if you wearing a pair of Snazzy Converse trainers Mr @the_andy_black_ ;-)
Those bagpipes get the heart pumping
It's like a torture noise for me, might just aggravate me enough to work 😆
Hey Loz, where can a guy get a shirt like the one you are wearing?
From Smash & Pass www.smashandpass.co.uk/products/scottish-historic-stone-tour?variant=35414402400410
There might be a good reason but why don't they wear padded gloves, surely that would solve at least part of the thin handles cutting into the palm of the hands, and slightly spread out the contact patch.
You’re not allowed to wear gloves or straps
Always like 👍 👍

Wow
Not bad at all considering the state of your thumbs!
watching this made my hands bleed
How are the stones returned to starting position?
They’re lifted into a cart barrow and wheeled back
Not bad for a retiree.
1:49 - Many will no doubt find this ridiculous but, not being a Strongman myself, I actually had to Google why Loz was sniffing smelling salts there! LOL! At least I know now!
Powerlifters use ammonia as well
Because it smells like piss 😆
Is there even a way to train the palm of your hand to deal with those skinny handles?
How is this guy dwarfing Big Loz? 😲
عالی هستی
Ah come on William Wallace was said to be 6’6” !
Thor beat it in his back garden by 5mm with his dead measuring
second. First time second
Taking it easy in retirement Loz 😂
Uphill
And on grass.
Why the hell would they do that🤷🏼♂️
Is andy okay? He put all the weight on his left leg at the end, and it wobbled real nasty.
Gonna be hard to beat
Luke if he does luke will break it again lol
How much do the stones weigh?
138 & 114kg
