I’m not ace, a mother, or a foster carer, but I’ve been watching your videos since your menstrual products days and you always have really intelligent and insightful content that I enjoy regardless of the topic!!

Thank you so much for this video, I really love when non-ace centric channels talk about asexuality because it really shows the diversity of ace lives

As someone who tends to fit jnto the stereotype of asexuality (aromantic, sex-repulsed, does not want to be in a partnered relationship or have children) I love hearing from people who sit on different parts of the ace spectrum than I do. We really are a diverse community. It's so silly, but coming out as Ace really does open you up to invasive questions about your personal sexual life. In that way, I worry that being out at work will just lead to more conversations about sex and not less. To be single and not actively seeking a partner is quite controversial in today's world.

The distinction between sex drive and sexual attraction makes total sense (e.g. experiencing some desire or arousal without it being directed towards someone). But you also seem to make a distinction between "libido" and "sex drive", whereas I've always heard those terms used interchangeably. Can you speak a bit about how you distinguish between libido and sex drive?

I am soooo dancing under the asexual umbrella! 🤣☂️ Always how I will describe it now ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💜🩷
I would also say, people find me very confusing as a bi-romantic asexual. "How can you fancy everyone and no one?". I'm just dancing man! Leave me be ☀️💃

Just in time when I finished reading Angela Chen's book on asexuality! Great Q&A. I'm so happy you're open about your identity. I've been watching you since the menstruation videos and your channel in general have this serene vibe. Asexuality topic coming from you feels so comforting and normalizing the term < 3

As someone who is asexual and aromatic this is quite helpful and positive. I am 38 years old and it was a long journey for me to figure this out. I have no interest in a relationship or romance. I have no problem with seeing sex or stuff like that but romance on the other hand makes me uncomfortable to watch. Like romantic movies and such like, oddly enough I do like to read romantic books but not watch movies with romance in them. I thought for the longest time that I was pansexual and just hadn’t found the right person for me.

I haven't watched this video yet (I will soon), so my question is unrelated. I'm assuming you've gotten this question a lot by now, but I was wondering what you thought of the story that is presented in the Netflix documentary about the dude that supposedly fathered 1000 (or more) kids as a sperm donor. Have you seen it? Your comments? Inquiring minds would like to know! It would be cool if you could do an episode about it.

I don't consider myself ace, but it's always nice to hear from people who are. I can feel sexual/romantic attraction to people and I did in the past, but I'm an introverted person who doesn't go out much outside of going to work, where I almost never see anyone my age/preferred gender so meeting someone I'd be attracted to is suuuper rare for me at this point in life, even if just due to circumstances. But I'm fine with it. My days feel busy as is and I don't know where another person would fit in. I sometimes think that if one day I woke up to a world where I had a good husband, I'd be all in, but at the moment I don't feel like it's worth it for me to go through all the struggle of deliberately looking for someone. So it's good to see more people who are in a similar boat for one reason or another. As I'm approaching 30 I'm more and more realizing that I'd probably rather not have children than have them, which is also comforting, because that means I'm not being pushed into finding a partner for that reason. I know someone who is approaching 40 and desperately looking for a partner to have a kid with and that sounds like a nightmare.

This was such an informative and intelligent view of an ace life and I loved every minute of it! I especially loved when u said several times that there is no one way to be asexual and it’s ok to change identities because sometimes I think ppl frown upon ppl changing labels and how they relate and feel and I appreciated that so much! Much love ❤

as an allo, I've never heard of libido as a separate concept from secsx drive. Could you elaborate on how its different (for you, if you experience them differently) or how you understand the difference? I just went looking for info about them and found reddit thread in the asexuality subreddit but it didn't help clarify. I also found a forum/thread on AVEN but I feel like I'm reading a foreign language where all the words are ones I know, but I'm not catching the differences that those who are native to that language see.

Hi! I can try to give you my personal explaination: libido is the physical need to experience pleasure. Sexual attraction is seeing someone you find attractive and desiring to have sex with them. If I can try to give you an example: libido is like being hungry, sexual attraction is like seeing an icecream truck and craving one of the icecreams on display. I hope it makes sense!

Great video 👍❤️ I came out last year as ace at the age of 48, I identify on the asexual spectrum but I just say I identify as asexual. I used to think there was something wrong with me, and then I watched a few TH-cam videos and finally things started to make sense. I am ace and proud 😎 I think I would like to meet someone but being ace it might prove to be tricky, also I am happy being single again at the moment.

You’re a very well educated, articulate person. I can read about sex in books, I find mgk and Halsey sexually attractive.. but I don’t see someone in real life and think about sex. The thought of someone touching me makes me extremely uncomfortable, I’ve been single for 5 years because I’m so confused about who I’m attracted to and what I’m comfortable with.. I’ve have partners that I’ve been sexually attracted to, but I’ve had partners I’m attracted to because of interests.. on dating apps I’m instantly put off if they make a sexual comment.. no no.. it makes me feel sick. Thank you, I’ll definitely be looking into this more.

I've only thought about dating now as an SMBC, and my son is almost 2... But it seems a lot more difficult and complicated..
Because I work during the day and I don't want to introduce my son to someone from the start, and I have no one to babysit him 🤦🏻‍♀️ so yeah... No idea how it would work.

I am on the asexual-spectrum and sex repulsed for myself, but sex positive in theorie, for other peoole, so I don't care if other people do it or speak about it, this is why I also not care very much how it is portrait in media, just when it has something to do with me, I would like more to be ill with vomiting, diarrhoea and fever, than to have sex myself.
