@@Chicagomademe85 is the Apple card integration with the app that I love I’m not sure all the credit cards have an app you can use. That’s this intuitive but I love this one.
I love my iPhone Pro Max, iMac, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, earbuds, and Apple Credit Card. This kind of news has been around forever. I hope it continues to be nonsense.
I have both an iPhone mini and the Apple Card. I really like them both. The iPhone Mini is a great phone, the perfect size for me and I really hope they bring it back. The apple card is very convenient. I love the way the app breaks down my spending right on the phone without having to login to a website. I like how easy it is to pay the balance due straight and easily from the phone. I like how I could add my wife to my card without having to apply for a new card. The fact that Goldman Sacks is not making money off me is a testament to how well it is working for me.
I miss the mini I loved the size though now I have a pro max but it’s for editing and battery life. With the mini I was always connected to a charger unfortunately. I gave it to my mom and she loves it but she’s also in her late 70s and ain’t out all day so the battery works for her.
It started falling TBH and I'm still on iPhone 11 and Watch 7 today. The Apple Card was a silly idea and people without the ability to pay 29.49% can't even sign up for one. Namely people who can barely pay for RENT and Utilities. It's only a matter of time before Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint are dead and everyone is on T-Mobile themselves, because of how far down the rabbit hole the costs are and less need to replace their devices including myself still on a Windows PC and Steam isn't on Apple iMac as much.
You are again wrong about apples sales dipping. The iPhone is selling more than ever before. You are completely skipping the used market + the outside of US markets. You have no idea.
The data is public, sales are booming. iPhone is 200B dollar business. Who’s the sheep, the one who checks arguments or the people who take it at face value without fact checking?
Maybe I'm just made different but I'd sooner own equipment than rent it. This subscription fad reminds me of the 70s and 80s when we used to rent TVs instead of buying them. The very idea of big corporations parasitising your income by leaching money from you when you have it, and repossessing equipment when you don't, gives me the heebie-jeebies. I love Apple tech but its getting too expensive and I don't think that's because the equipment is intrinsically worth it, I think the increase in purchase cost is a cynical attempt to lay the groundwork for hardware subscription by making it seem more attractive. If hardware subscription becomes the trend and it becomes prohibitively expensive to buy or own your own equipment then I guess it's a huge win for big tech in the whole right to repair controversy. So, no. I'm not in favour of hardware subscriptions and, when it comes to computing, if I can't buy a Mac at a reasonable cost then I'll just build my own rig and put a Linux OS on there.
sounds a bit like when the auto industry really shifted to the “payment” mindset - and now weekly payments- and not many people pay cash for cars anymore but amazing how much prices went up - apple ain’t no dummies - so this would work very well for them
With all this going on, now, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 import has been halted, over the lawsuit from Masimo, over stealing their technology for the blood oximeter...
I speak as someone who has Apple shares for over 10yrs. Yet my daily driver is a Z Fold 5. Apple has historically been a hardware company. Subscriptions for services are where the big money is. Even cars are offering subscriptions for hardware through infotainment systems. Apple are late and now trying to play catch-up to this big money maker.
I used to be a loyal Apple customer for decades because of the superior software stack from OS to apps. With all the ever-increasing bloatware and increasingly malfunctioning apps update by update, I felt I was left no choice but to go in a different direction. Android started to outperform iOS in an increasing number of categories, and Windows PCs today are far more stable and reliable than Macs. Even non-creative financial analysts are complaining their iPhones getting worse with each software update. What made Apple Apple seem to be gone for good.
0:14 Naming it mini does not make it mini ... I would like an original iPhone size with current technology myself, maybe 1.5 to double the thickness for longer battery life and screen going all the way to the edge, with a bus stop at the top.
Im only 24 seconds in and both opening points are wrong. Firstly Apple knew that the $10k watch was niche. The fact that you called it a flop is seriously laughable. It doesn’t look good for your argument but let’s move in to the iPhone mini. It’s sales have skyrocketed lately again shooting down your premise at only the 24 second mark. I’ll comment again soon im sure but right now ? Flawed arguments
hardware subscription moves us into a world where we own nothing. Louis Rossman talked about this. It's dangerous and IDC what their offer is, I will not partake. What I purchase, I own.
Hmmmm.... As someone who doesn't have, nor even sees the point of having, a smartphone of any kind; Apple's card or "Apple Pay" et al are completely irrelevant to my life. Then again, I don't "do" subscriptions of ANY kind, certainly not "hardware subscriptions", I don't waste money on nonsense like that. As a 25 year Mac user, I'm jumping ship "next time" for Linux: I'm tired of Apple's continued de-contenting (iPhoto vs Photos as one such), and the industry wide dumbing down of computers to be similar to a crippled smartphone. Apple's yearly need-it-or-not Mac "upgrades" break everything, I'm tired of buying into Apple's ecosystem, then having them jerk the rug out from under me a few years later. I'm tired of their bugs too. Of course, Micro$oft is doing much the same thing - I'm just tired of it and a decade in IT gave me a pretty jaundiced view of both. So - why would I care about their card? A standard Visa or MasterCard works everywhere, and I don't have to fiddle with - or pay for - a smartphone to use them.
Nothing to see here. Apple has the dominant phone in the US and that's not changing anytime soon. The reason sales are down is that Apple gear lasts for 5 years before it really needs to be upgraded. Nothing wrong with that.
Disclosure: I've never owned an IPhone. That said well over a $100 Billion in Iphones and related accessories were sold last year. Me thinks news of their demise is a bit overblown. I suggest if you are contemplating shorting Samsung, Toyota or Apple you think very hard before you do.
The only part I understood is I will get a different bank behind my Apple Card. I don’t understand any connection to future of iPhone. I bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max using my Apple Card and paid it off. I am a satisfied customer
lol a hardware subscription, why would people pay a subscription to get the same product they already had to begin with ? They release every year the same product just under a different name.
Sorry but iPhone Mini didn't fail, Apple failed the iPhone Mini by not treating it like their high ends, it should have gotten a battery equal to the Max and better components....Just make it a little fatter like the old Nokia handset's, Apple needs new designers.
Apple could make Apple Music equal on Android instead of only offering just streaming. None of my bought and paid for music works on Android....utterly ridiculous.
Very strange conspiracy theory: But how come that year after year, the device that is sold the most, always is an iPhone? And among the 10 best-selling cell phones, not just 1 but up to 5 of them are iPhones? Maybe You’re right, but I seriously doubt it. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Thats because most people don't care what the best phone is. Apple used to be the top one for quite a long while. But they have just recently dropped the ball a few years ago. Change takes time. Even though iOS is pretty horrible in today's standards. It's what most people are used to. Change is something humans by instinct hate.
@@mich977f Also, a lot of people don't want any more gimmicky additions to the OS. If you're a nerd and you want to endlessly configure and twist your phone to your own requirements then buy an android. If you wan't a phone that just works and works seamlessly with your laptop, your watch, your TV and your smart home without having to do any of the setup, then buy an iPhone. Horses for courses. There is no 'better'. Just different products for different people.
We never had the Apple card in the UK. Subscriptions are always great for the companies... a constant revenue stream. I hate the subscription model and in no way would support a hardware subscription scenario. If you don't subscribe to Apple Music then it's a poor platform for those who have amassed vast private collections of music and have no need of a streaming service. Software development such as Siri is pathetic for us non-subscribers and are deliberately kept out of full functionality.
I usually buy a new iPhone every year, but the 15 Pro Max is underwhelming compared to my 14 Pro Max. Using titanium is a mistake - it's expensive, scratches easily not well suited for consumer goods. The 15 Pro Max lacks a compelling reason for 14 Pro Max and 14 Pro users to upgrade. Where's the new iPad?
I have an Apple card, but it doesn't sync with my budgeting software, so I stopped using it. I do use my Apple savings account. I cancelled all my Apple subscriptions, just too expensive for what it is.
It would be foolish to “subscribe” to hardware subscription if you’re doing it because you can’t afford the $1000+ phone. If you subscribe but suddenly cannot afford to pay the subscription then all Apple has to do is remotely brick your phone. Better to save money and buy it outright or buy a phone you can afford.
You will have to put in a coin every day, right? Nonsens, it would destroy markets owned by phone providers like Vodafone, T-Mobile etc. You get a subscription and a phone that goes with it. You pay extra up front if you want the subscription to be low. No way these providers are gone subsidise monthly payments just for these phones to let you pay less subscription, right? What is the point of that.
Great video except……Goldman Sachs isn’t trying to get out of the deal, Apple wants to switch to another backer because GS was too hard to get accepted. It’s old news actually.
I think most of us just got burned by being early adopters of expensive Macintosh systems back in the 1990's. Macintosh was dabomb up until System 7.5.3, and then they stabbed all of us in the back and switched the PowerPC and MachBSD Linux. That was the deth of Apple in the 90's. None of our software ran on the new systems. We all fled to building our own whitebox tower PC's that had a better TCP/IP stack running on them for a lot cheaper. And since then, there has been no compelling reason to go back to Apple. They reinvented themselves with the ipad and iphone, because desktop users were long gone. None of what Apple does any more matters though, because Apple got more money than gawd and are now just a huge financial holding company that can buy up any business star in any emerging sector they want. They bamboozled us all selling Desktop Publishing Macs, and I know my barn is full of them and none of them are worth anything any more.
It sounds like Apple was too greedy and there isn't enough margin to make their partner happy as well. A classic Tim Cook move to squeeze on Procurement.
Seeing as what they have reported as the primary reason for losses is chargeoff's due to bad loans, I'd suspect it was the financial institution that was over eggar to approve cards in a harsh economic time, but I'm sure we will know better when we see who picks it up or if Apple ends up having to make an actual financial institution to handle this themselves. (that is both cool and scary)
If they go to a hardware subscription they are dead for sure. Not immediately, but that is one more nail. iPhone is a premium brand, but chasing the masses with a recurring payment model, you are diluting your brand.
Most people around the world 🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎 who have an iPhone have photos photos from the years 2022 2021 2020 2019 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 and beyond PERMENANTLY GONE FOR GOOD

If Apple reduces their dividend payouts to their shareholders, they could simply open a bank to cover the exit of Goldman Sachs (I don't think there is any requirement that investment or banks requires banks to hold large amounts of gold or valued physical assets to open a bank nowadays, and I doubt even Kakao Bank in Korea has that much physical assets in their banks. And apple already has more than enough in their coffers to start one). Opening a bank and working with Visa or Master Card could help them grow in the financial sector, and Apple can also make people have access to easy loans, with slightly higher interest rates, and considering how Apple fans constantly spend 30% Apple tax, they probably wouldn't mind paying the higher interest rates. This could back the Apple Card, if Apple cannot find a replacement.
I like the mini I wish there was a mini with USB-C. But alas what's the point in buying an iPad if I'm gonna get a giant phone plus larger screen shorter battery life. More issues with Bend gate.

The thing that will slowly but surely kill Apple for the most part, is the total lack of innovation and the lack of balls to take more chances in the market. Apple is on route to go on the same downfall route as Nokia did a long time ago. Nokia just stopped to innovate and digged their own grave from that.

I lost interest after the button disappeared. Still use my 8Plus but doubt I'll stay with APPLE if they don't bring back the button so I can feel comfortable using an iPhone. My wife and daughter both use non-button iPhones and they have had a lot of problems with pocket dials and iPhones not shutting off when instructed to. My fave iPhone was the 3 but that expanded until the internal battery essentially blew open the front screen. I still have a 5 but quit using that when the software upgrades basically used all the memory and left it useless except for use as a travel phone.
Hardware subscription seems like a good idea at first- and I wished it existed say five or six years ago-but here's the problem. Right now Apple still isn't producing hardware updates worthy of upgrading yearly. My relatively new Mac and iPhone will do me just fine for the next 3-5 years. And swapping to a new Mac, in particular, is pretty laborious. I'm not going to pay a premium for an option I don't use often enough to make it worth it.

Or to ignore and abandon their decades long ambassadors , those who were bringing the right evolution analysis and propositions ? how many of them are we talking about .... probably a lot . He's stuck with all the SEs and minis Apple has come out with. There's a right size for everyone. Just because you don't like small doesn't make it terrible.

The credit card isn't going anywhere. I'm tired of seeing these type of videos in my feed.
Unfortunately, small form factor phones are dying out. They are loved by those who like small phones, but most people prefer the bigger phone
Your comment on Goldman Sachs made me chuckle. Well said!
It's more a testament in how apples greed is hurting everyone around them.

So, no. I'm not in favour of hardware subscriptions and, when it comes to computing, if I can't buy a Mac at a reasonable cost then I'll just build my own rig and put a Linux OS on there.
sounds a bit like when the auto industry really shifted to the “payment” mindset - and now weekly payments- and not many people pay cash for cars anymore but amazing how much prices went up - apple ain’t no dummies - so this would work very well for them
CONGRATS on 300K subs. I have learned alot from your channel.
With all this going on, now, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 import has been halted, over the lawsuit from Masimo, over stealing their technology for the blood oximeter...
I love my 13 Mini. Bought it when the 14 already existed. Didn't get the 14 because there wasn't a Mini version.
Same. Love the mini
Same for me too, the other sizes just seemed too big.
10:48 I think this is the first time I've ever seen TH-cam's new feature mess up. >w>
Watching this with a mini iphone in hand... the mini iPhone wasn't a flop.
You might be correct but they might still make iPhones but not every year.
Love the Apple Card ! You definitely way off base 😂
I suggest if you are contemplating shorting Samsung, Toyota or
Apple you think very hard before you do.
The only part I understood is I will get a different bank behind my Apple Card. I don’t understand any connection to future of iPhone. I bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max using my Apple Card and paid it off. I am a satisfied customer

I bought an iPhone 12 mini because it fits my hand! The oversized iPhones aren’t conducive to those of us with arthritis!
lol a hardware subscription, why would people pay a subscription to get the same product they already had to begin with ? They release every year the same product just under a different name.
@8:21 It's not that Apple didn't get it right, it's that the banking industry is not open to change.
Sorry but iPhone Mini didn't fail, Apple failed the iPhone Mini by not treating it like their high ends, it should have gotten a battery equal to the Max and better components....Just make it a little fatter like the old Nokia handset's, Apple needs new designers.
I just upgraded my iPhone 8 plus with a 15 pro max. That is my upgrade cycle almost 9 years.
im still on the 13... i use to upgrade until i paid 1300 for a phone

What a horrific take lmao.. if the Apple Card fail, the iPhone is next? Yeah ok.
The statement “ saving Apple” which is a trillion dollar company is crazy
Apple needs a new CEO and to stop posting social justice and carbon neutral junk on their website as core values.
I still have my iPhone 13 mini and I know several people who still have their's. I won't buy another iPhone until Apple brings the mini back.
Take 5 years to create something really unique. We can wait. We don't need a new iphone every year. We need something unique and we can wait.

Thats because most people don't care what the best phone is. Apple used to be the top one for quite a long while. But they have just recently dropped the ball a few years ago. Change takes time. Even though iOS is pretty horrible in today's standards. It's what most people are used to. Change is something humans by instinct hate.
@@OutOfNameIdeas2 "Even though iOS is pretty horrible in today's standards." Based on what? What standards? That was a pretty empty statement...

If you're a nerd and you want to endlessly configure and twist your phone to your own requirements then buy an android. Software development such as Siri is pathetic for us non-subscribers and are deliberately kept out of full functionality.
the 13mini is a powerhouse of a phone my friend.

Leasing hardware is so dumb. I keep my iphone for 4 years
It would be foolish to “subscribe” to hardware subscription if you’re doing it because you can’t afford the $1000+ phone.
The mini iphones are great and never should have been cancelled
people wanted the iphone mini, there were just not as many people as expected
Their stuff is all getting too expensive while also enshitifying so...over it tbh.
(that is both cool and scary)
the great thing about this channel is that this guys makes his own fake news 😂😂😂
If they go to a hardware subscription they are dead for sure. Not immediately, but that is one more nail. iPhone is a premium brand, but chasing the masses with a recurring payment model, you are diluting your brand.

The thing that will slowly but surely kill Apple for the most part, is the total lack of innovation and the lack of balls to take more chances in the market. Apple is on route to go on the same downfall route as Nokia did a long time ago. Nokia just stopped to innovate and digged their own grave from that.

Apple hardware always has kinda been a subscription offering, albeit with a hefty down payment.
By hardware subscriptions, you mean leasing, right?
