I have to wonder if the speedrunning community around this (which does, to give it credit, have close to 30 names on the leaderboards) emerged out of "well, it's a flawed game, but I like it" or "this is such a dumpster fire, I _have_ to speedrun it" xD But I gotta say, these 50 minutes were probably the most fun I had with the game, and I didn't even have to play it 👍 good job jphpue, and thanks for the commentary contributions from Xoneris and Tempest!
I love this game. I play it a lot and I'm pretty good at it, but watching you play is a real treat! I never knew you could dodge the tunneling machines! To me, the dashing mechanic makes it really addicting and fun. The batallion weapon is really OP. I love to replay all the levels using different weapons to see what's harder and what's easier with them.
After all the fiasko in the background of that game, I'm surprised there are even speedrunners. I thought it bombed so hard, it made bomberman look pacifist.
