Mighty No. 5478 here. After everything that happened with this game, it's really nice to see some people that get at least some enjoyment out of it, especially for a good cause. It was a great run.
I came to check if there was any speed runs of Mighty no 9, and I am happy to see one. I loved this game, and still do. I hope the vita release comes out so I can buy it and play it on the go. The trinity fight, oh man! That was great, the first stage tactic was crazy. The battle cry made me laugh, good one kid.
So this game is about a robot that can absorb other robot powers, but is aided by a clean shaven Bob Ross, Peter Griffin, and Blossom from Power Puff Girls in a power suit all in the future, all to stop Apple?
people hate on it because of the kickstarter campaign and marketing, nothing more. The game isn't bad, it's a solid game, but due to kickstarter, who was involved, and the marketing, people hate it. And since it's a safe game to hate where no one will argue or question it, then it's cool to hate on it.
Anyone criticising greenzsaber is jealous of his happiness and confidence to do as he pleases. Thanks to him and the commentators for a really fun run.
To be perfectly honest, gameplay issues aside (and some obvious bugs) this game looks beautiful and looked like it had a pretty decent story. I do hope they make a sequel to this game, hopefully addressing some of the criticisms that people had originally. It was a pretty good attempt at making a Mega Man game in my opinion.
First I think the runner is a shy weeb or something(cuz the TOP NEP hat ), turns out this was one of the best run, people are fun and enthusiasm, not like most other run is just a "technical show" .This run feels like play with *some* friends.
Man, look at the slowdown when anything at all happens on screen. It's a good thing this is a speedrun, too, because apparently this game has memory leaks so bad that it will just spontaneously crash after a few hours of continuous play.
Is no one going to comment on what a great job the runner did? Seriously, if I didn't know Mighty No. 9 was such a bad game, the execution here would lead me to believe that this was some kind of legendary platformer that was worth picking up immediately. Speedran games don't need to be "good". There are ALWAYS plenty of bad games at a GDQ event. Yes, MN9 is a terrible game. But there is no reason to come onto a speedrunning video, a game about BREAKING said game and playing it in the least casual way possible and commenting about how bad it is. There are plenty of other videos where that's appropriate. Here? It's just pointless. This video is about the kind of job the runner does with the game. All this proves to me is the hiveminded nature of the internet. People are more apt to act like robots, as part of a stand alone complex where people parrot and repeat the same things over and over again rather than actually paying attention to what's going on in the moment. It's more about posting and thumbing up whatever is memetic, whatever is popularly being said, whatever goes along with the popular movement, whatever is being repeated over and over again, rather than actually using the human mind to see what's actually happening.
The game is not terrible at all. It's terrible because ppl have donated 4 million dollars and yet, the graphics and style are not worthy of a 4 million donation. I have brought this game yesterday and i'm really having so much fun with it. I love the challenge and everything, but then, i look at the graphics, the style, the robots that are easily forgettable except bosses and the protagonist and i'm like :''yeah, great game, but the graphics are kinda terrible in 2018''. Most effects are terrible: especially the explosions. They don't look like explosions, they look like red dust that you blew at the screen. That's how bad it is.
I actually love this game and think the graphics aren't bad the way they are, in my opinion, I do understand the frustration of the backers and agree with the undeniable fact it could've been much more with the amount of money they got, however I wouldn't think like that if it was the same base game with extra stages, characters, and some other things, again this is only my opinion but I think the graphics(which is what I hear most complaints about when it comes to the game itself) are kind of irrelevant when it's already enough to create a decent atmosphere which I think the game already have
At launch the online speedrun leaderboards built in didn't update when you set a new record, and I spent time achieving one I was proud of, only to find out it didn't save. :^)))))))))))))))))))))))))
I think it would be cool if we updated the kill the animals to something a bit more coded, like "Save the animals, or Cheese it" or something, since that's always been such a weird thing for newer people coming in. I mean, it's nothing terrible, and most people can just google search it, but EVERYONE I've talked to thinks that at first, there's some ulterior charity that if they don't donate to, they'll go out of their way to kill animals.
Mighty No 9 is decent. I really enjoy the game. The hate comes from spoilt brat gamers who can't appreciate it for what it is. Mighty No 9 is a speedruner!
Based on what I saw from this run, Mighty Number 9 looks like its about as good as any other Megaman game. What exactly about this game makes it so bad?
The game has some bad lag, bad load times, and a tendency to crash at times. I've heard of some people not being able to save properly, and honestly, AVOID the Wii U version if you plan on trying it out. It's basically an okay Mega Man clone with some bad implementation issues.
Gileum Well there also are a lot of frustrated beckers. While the are aware the game is not so awful, they lost not just money in backing it but also many other things.
Maybe because the game bares no resemblance to the game we were sold on. Or the fact nobody has their physical rewards yet, or the botched delivery, lack of communication, abuse from the staff, multiple downgrades or the huge glaring mission creep within the game that delayed it three times for features nobody even gave a shit about. But nah, it's just edgy teens and meme-lords because looking up the actual issues with this game takes effort.
The game is bad, full of glitches that break the game, bad writing, and still you're trying to defend it. This is beyond sad or pathetic, just accept it, maybe the cognitive dissonance is forcing you to negate it but its the truth. it's really sad to see you try defend this piece of garbage.
This isn't a game I would play, the runner had some personality and is very passionate about what he does and I like him, isn't this all that matters when coming to watch a game on AGDQ?

*cough* Awesome *cough* Games Done Quickly. Do you like mediocre things that are mediocre?
While I did enojyed my time with mighty no 9 (I 100% expected to hate it after all of the videos that trashed it) I can see why people didn't like it or why it's just a very mediocre at best and just bad at worst. The game suffers mechanic wise due to how unreliable the dash is when you want to abord a lto of enemies and how risky it gets and it suffers from the design considering all of the cheap deaths and bad placement of the levels. And also part because of how they decided to use hype to get a lot of money only to have it backfired and not delivering on their promises, or delivering them in the worst way possible (call's stage). Still, this is a good run and It's good that people do have ways to have fun with the game (even if it's making fun of it) and it's always a pleasure to watch those speedruns.
The worst parts are the cutscenes and the technical issues getting the game to run in the first place. There have been some bad PC experiences out there with trying to get the game to save at all, and the load times on XBox One and the Wii U are pretty bad. In fact, don't touch the Wii U version, it's just....words cannot describe how bad that version plays between the lag and blocky graphics.
The guys holding the "Fine Play", "Sprinter", "Good" and "Quick Clear" signs were the best part of the run.
The runner was imo, he is awesome.
the "good/great guy" really strugles :D
he had 1 job
you do not know how taxing it is. sometimes a "good" was shown, but you head both "good" and "great". I was originally planned to have 3 signs
Yeah!
they got a bit lazy with the signs at some points, but it was a good gag
This speedrun is better than nothing.
I was getting angry at this comment until I remembered that the devs said this about the game
Oof
Mighty No. 5478 here. After everything that happened with this game, it's really nice to see some people that get at least some enjoyment out of it, especially for a good cause. It was a great run.
I love this kid, he's awesome. Such a happy and endearing dude :).
Ikr, he made my day ^_^
This was a great run! From the runner, to the couch, to the guy holding the signs in the back. Quality AGDQ content.
This was one of the most entertaining speedruns I've ever seen! Looking forward to more from Greenzsaber!
Quick uploads make me happy. :)
EDIT: This was surprisingly upbeat and fun to watch for such a notorious game. Great job!
I personally really enjoy Mighty no 9 and I'm super happy to get a commentated speed run!!!
I like this game. It's a lot of fun. Glad to see someone do the game in AGDQ.
Greensaber truly was... TOP NEP.
One of the best runs of AGDQ! You rock GreenZSaber!
Kudos to the guy who held the signs during the run
Sweet! I love this game and am happy someone bothered to play it (wish I could have caught it live tho). Amazing run.
The primal screeching really helped elevate that boss fight.
Nicely done GreenZ, you got mighty #9 down to a T.
stoked to see your skillz in AGDQ
Over and Out - Behemoth Balls
This speedrun was quicker then an anime fan on prom night.
So this game is about a robot that can absorb other robot powers, but is aided by a clean shaven Bob Ross, Peter Griffin, and Blossom from Power Puff Girls in a power suit all in the future, all to stop Apple?
The sign holders are amazing
THANKS, AVI
WE’VE GOT STRONG WINDS OUT THERE TODAY. BE CAREFUL!
I just love the enthusiasm greenzsaber has for this game. It's contagious.
ice to see this game being an entertaining speedrun material.
This is great! Well done. Mighty No. 9 is fun. Thanks for sharing.
Fun run, and this game isn't nearly as bad as people say it is, it's just considered cool to hate on it.
bad? not really. but the hate it gets comes from what was promised (and not delivered) and how much money got put into it.
people hate on it because of the kickstarter campaign and marketing, nothing more. The game isn't bad, it's a solid game, but due to kickstarter, who was involved, and the marketing, people hate it. And since it's a safe game to hate where no one will argue or question it, then it's cool to hate on it.
Greenzsaber made a game that's not so good fun to watch. GG... It happens.
Anyone criticising greenzsaber is jealous of his happiness and confidence to do as he pleases. Thanks to him and the commentators for a really fun run.
By far the best run of AGDQ 2017
love how ppl are talking trash about this game and still watching this
amazing run ,love to see this game getting crushed.
I love this solely due to the presence of the Black Knight 2000 theme in the playlist during setup.
I'm a bit disappointed that no one said Rockman when greenzsaber said "Are you ready to rock?!". :P
Even I have my limits
To be perfectly honest, gameplay issues aside (and some obvious bugs) this game looks beautiful and looked like it had a pretty decent story. I do hope they make a sequel to this game, hopefully addressing some of the criticisms that people had originally. It was a pretty good attempt at making a Mega Man game in my opinion.
This runner is awesome
Now speedrun the credits.
28:18, 57:30, 1:02:00, 1:05:20, 1:08:30
By far the best graphics of 2014 for me
Wow, he actually made the game look fun.
I assure you, it is a fun game...as long as it doesn't crash. And you ignore some stage design. And .... well....yeeeeeeeeeah.... :(
This game wasn't that bad.
"""Awesome""" Games Done Quick
It's better than nothing.
*window minimized, gets to **1:02:06* WHAT IS GOING ON WHY IS HE SCREAMING
Mighty No. 9 is a good game.
Why does everyone in the comments write that this game sucks? I never played it, but it looks kind of fun
It has its issues, but when it doesn't crash it is fun. Just don't try the ps3 or WiiU versions
1:02:02 The Absolute Madman!
That fucking TOP NEP cap.
First I think the runner is a shy weeb or something(cuz the TOP NEP hat ), turns out this was one of the best run, people are fun and enthusiasm, not like most other run is just a "technical show" .This run feels like play with *some* friends.

whys the volume so bad? :(
WHY DON'T YOU PUT THE ACTUAL START TIME IN THE DESCRIPTION?! Basic user consideration, please. 16:28
I wonder when we will see Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 in this AGDQ?
Is that a top nep hat I see
16:30 for run start

Aaron Usher "mn9 isn't as bad as x7" is like saying crippling diarrhea isn't as bad as fatal diarrhea

This run was surprisingly enjoyable!
Shout out to the one guy for being a sinfonian
At launch the online speedrun leaderboards built in didn't update when you set a new record, and I spent time achieving one I was proud of, only to find out it didn't save. :^)))))))))))))))))))))))))
I'd believe it. If you still have a video, definitely submit it to the mega man leaderboards
Mr Cab probably nothing big anymore but I'll check lol
those pizza explosions omg XD
I think it would be cool if we updated the kill the animals to something a bit more coded, like "Save the animals, or Cheese it" or something, since that's always been such a weird thing for newer people coming in. Also, 1:02:08 cracked me up.
Lol the speedrunner gets a “Sprinter” at 17:39 and the “Quick Clear” sign guy accidentally puts his up
I feel bad for Green, imagine how many play sessions he had to sit through of this game.
This guy platinum'd this game in juat 5 hours.
The game itself is questionable at best, even if the run is fun
they say trinity and I'm like what? I thought it's name was Pandora (kid Icarus uprising)

graphically it looks...okay, if a bit forgettable but holy shit those explosions are terrible
I really liked this game fuck me right?
Papita Gaming Channel wasn't stupid enough to donate towards a kickstarter, So I too loved this game.
Gileum Well there also are a lot of frustrated beckers. While the are aware the game is not so awful, they lost not just money in backing it but also many other things.

I'm surprised anyone could find a way to have fun with this atrocious game.... Great run, guys. :)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH

Do you like mediocre things that are mediocre?
the one guys mic is way louder and he keeps yelling
MEAT LOVERS
I wonder what happened to the Mighty no. 9 animated series? Was it cancelled?
Keroro 9 more than likely
While I did enojyed my time with mighty no 9 (I 100% expected to hate it after all of the videos that trashed it) I can see why people didn't like it or why it's just a very mediocre at best and just bad at worst.

"Threetwoone GO!!! Whoo!" @ 16:25
This game is so bad that I love seeing it been destroy by the runners
Is this a PS1 game?
Why does Dr. White look like Spike from Cowboy Bebop though
20:12
14:50
It was better than nothing
People put time stamps but just skips over the people introductions it is kind of rude in my opinion
Then make a timestamp to the introductions. I'd click on that if I saw it and it wasn't 10+ minutes of talking before the run.
*****
That's a good idea in fact I'll make the timestamp now, Thanks!
Too bad this game sucked, it looks so fun when someone else is playing it
I have to see this?
Was the donation insentive just for the Ray Stage and not the actual mode because I don't see a Ray run for AGDQ anywhere.
It was just for the Ray stage.
I never watched this game before, it’s a shame it was executed poorly because I actually like some of the ideas in here
. . .-=-=.= QUICK CLEAR! =_=__-=-__. . .
1:05:27 those reflexes man
is there a disturbing lack of crowd in this run? like no laughing in the background
1:02:06 This just gets me
it seems like a fun game to play if it has discount. is it really that bad?
The worst parts are the cutscenes and the technical issues getting the game to run in the first place.
