Sonu Nigam humarey desh ke shaan haan, par Jagjit Singh ji ke rendition se yeah frankly kaafi door hai... Taking ghazal performances by younger singers like Arijit Singh and Ali Sethi into account this is not as magical...Too rushed and Bollywood-like
It is a unplugged version not the traditional way of Ghazals. In Mtv unplugged majority of Audience is youth ,So you have to blend the Composition according to their liking, unless they can't connect , As a youth I loved the whole Episode as it was first time done. And then went to original Songs by those legends of Ghazals. The Initiative taken by Sonu Nigam was fulfilled, so this is the great achievement than Singing Ghazal in a pure traditional way.
I always say this and will say it again that I am blessed to be living in the era of Sonu Nigam.
